Im playing it for the first time and using the One Vision mod. The necromancer at the castle just handed me my ass. Dickass can just revive units to full health on his turn if they aren't exercised. So I finally align my turns with my priests to do that before he can revive them and the motherfucker just summons two more units on his turn instead. Think I might need to grind a couple skills and just rush him down.

Four Werewolves + Cleric was a choice I always liked, since they get 16 attacks and they don't upgrade and the Cleric (just on healing duty) won't change ALI/CHA unless they attack someone.Of course, the real strategy for an evil run was to create some Paladins/Samurai Masters in a "good" group along with some advanced Clerics, then mix them with the rest of your army. They are far stronger than anything evil got, and that's before overleveling them. Sure, mixing good/evil characters lowered their stats, but between 3 attacks a fight and the overleveled stats, they just destroyed everything without much trouble.

The level cap is the least of Reborn's problems. Apologists will of course create some weird stance that the only people that didn't like that release are just bad at the game and mad. But that's a weird cope when the version is full of bad and ugly decisions. PSP version is far from perfect, but at least the issues are mostly numbers so you can tweak them to your liking, like nerfing archers or making crafting easier.

Tactics Ogre is one of the few games where I enjoy all versions of it (original, PSP, Reborn, even One Vision) in their own way. All versions have the excellent narrative intact that is one of the best portrayals of "grey morality" I have seen in any game, period.I do think all versions besides the original bolster the Law route too much and incentivize the player to choose it as a result, but this can just be my Chaos route bias talking. (although in the original the power level between the two route is close to even)
