I just bought this yesterday before the end of the Steam sale. I noticed doing the tutorial and up until the Steamworks it seemed like you didn't necessarily need equipment to ascend as long as you observed your surroundings. Is that true for the whole game and equipment can make ascending simpler, or are there places where pitons and rebar are absolutely necessary?
