why are modern games so handholdy with yellow paint?
>get fucking lost because it's a doom game>it also has fully 3D maps>muddle through half the game eventually finding the right path>click left stick>get shown a deadspace route/skyrim clairvoyance/fallout vans path>god emperor be praised!>have fun just killing enemies and being told where to next kill enemies when lost>notice yellow paint>replay older levels>it's there too>all of the yellow paint was in places I never questioned "Is this the right way?"Did... did this game release with the paint or was it added later? Why was it so pointless?Surely if you need paint in a game, you're one of those play for 20 minutes gamers who can't figure out all the buttons?
paint is used in place of good level design
>he needs directions in his sissy kids' game
I wouldn't mind yellow paint if there's a way to completely disable it once you've memorized the pattern it apply to.That said, it's fun when a game can use it as part of its aesthetic(Control is a failure for other things)
inevitable
