Honestly I wish the game was even more metal, like the old album covers, it still feels too gamey in aesthetic. Though, I don't think something like that could be done without 2D graphics.

These combinations of rhythm + random vidya genre are never good. Hi-Fi Rush had forgettable music. Not a single good melody in the entire OST. /v/ermins who know nothing about music theory may be impressed by it but not me.
metal hellsinger was insanely fun, more games need to bring rhythm elements into them. i get far more immersed in a game when i am focusing everything on the game, trying to get internal rhythms to match up with the game's. it also shows a commitment from the devs to actually unify all aspects of the game instead of a bunch of separate departments trying to contribute without a cohesive vision.
