Is this even worth it if I can already play the PSP version with all the patches and hacks that fixes its issues and adds similar QoL stuff?
>>722607053At half the price, yes.
>>722607053>adds similar QoL stuff? The PSP version has a combat timeline and pre-battle preps? No? Then fuck off.
>>722607053Is there something like fft that has been released recently?>>722607457Kek, no. X>0 is too expensive.
>>722608113Nah, closest thing would be Tactics Ogre, which is another remaster.>>722608004Even the og has a combat timeline, it's just not in the main HUD.
>>722607053I've only played WotL on psp back in the day but I'm enjoying this version of FFT. That was a long time ago though so my memory of WotL is somewhat faded. A lot of the "QoL" stuff in IC is very nice however.
>>722607053Yes. If you don’t want to rebuy all your games for $50 each, then fuck off per >>722608004. As such, I think companies should include the cost of a future remaster when pricing their games. For example, this remaster will be getting a remaster by 2040. That means FFT would have cost $50 x 4 = $200.00. And if you don’t buy, you need to fuck off, so you gotta buy in. This makes FFT one of the highest-priced first-party games ever made besides FF7 and Skyrim. I think it’s dishonest that companies don’t disclose all of the costs before you’re locked in to a 30-year contract.
>>722608273Waiting for menace and pathbreakers then. Idk if I can play battle brothers.
>>722608004Who gives a shit about that minor crap pussy
Just finished Tactics for the first time with this version.I liked being able to see the combat timeline, skipping random encounters and the stuff in the chronicle helped me sort out who is who and the state of the world map.I guess if you just want the pure game you can just play the PSP version but the remake was useful for me to grasp and appreciate everything.
>>722609142I will die on the hill that half the reason SRPGs fail is because they ignore the value of QoL features.
I never touched the game but somehow I doubt this is worth 3 Silksongs.
>>722607053only if you are care about the voice acting otherwise not really?doesn't have the grind to unlock Dark Knight and Onion Knightalso has two characters from other games that don't make really sense to be in but they also do that in the original, it's just fun side stuff
Nah, Square Enix is a multi-million dollar company, they have no excuse to release a FFT remaster without all of the content the previous re-release had.
>>722608648This is insane. Why should you be entitled for a remaster? Like buying Pepsi and expecting a voucher for an upcoming Pepsi retro.
Playing this for the first time. My main two issues are that it's too hard to see the tiles a lot of the time, and that every other character looks the same. Coming off of FE and Unicorn Overlord where all characters have a distinct look, it's harder to get invested in the FFT characters because they all look (and sound) so similar.
>>722609665Different team handled the PSP version and they got some of the OG team to bring the PS1 version forward as a basis. Even then they did go out of their way to bring the animated cutscenes back in the Chronicle, though there's that FFTFix that lets you watch them where they'd appear in the game like the PSP version.Honestly, the PSP content isn't really anything to write home about anyway. Two cameo character clones, two endgame classes that have no value that far into the game, a few extra fights that are just sorta there like killing a resurrected Argath for the hell of it, some extra dialogue scenes, and a multiplayer mode. Besides rebalancing and tweaks, it really didn't do a damn thing for the man game itself. TIC at least goes out of its way to add extra dialogue for major characters if you bring them to plot battles they would reasonably react to (though Raph and her brother get the short end of the stick), lets you actually see where your units will start on the map instead of the vague squares before, and does a lot of little extra things to make the game feel pretty damn interesting, AND a hard mode that doesn't need to be modded in.
I have consoomerism fatigue
>>722609579>also has two characters from other games that don't make really sense to be inLuso and Balthier are at least from other Ivalice games. Cloud is reprising his fanservice role. It's just kinda sus how they can pick and choose what WotL content they want to include (like 95% of the translation?) and the rest can't even be optional content. That's Squeenix for you though.
