I quite enjoyed my 1st ever finished playthrough of FO3 this year. The main quest is still abysmal, but I managed to uncover the kino of just roaming around the wasteland, scavenging and doing some cool side quests. Last year I replayed GTA 5 for the first time since 2013 and I hate it even more, fucking horrible game and probably the most disappointing sequel ever.

With GTA, I find myself going back to the PS2 lineup way more than 5. GTA3 had the huge novelty to it of being the first in the series to do it. After that, every game was just refining the process. Generally, the GTAs got better as they went, but the luster also came off of them with each entry because they never changed all that much.As for FO, I really like 3 because of the opening sequence. Starting you off as being born and growing up is such a great way of making a character and doing a tutorial of the game without it feeling like a tutorial at all. It gives you scenes with your dad so you can actually get attached to him and have motivation for doing the main quest as you venture out of the vault. The DC Wasteland also just works so well for seeing the apocalyptic setting. You get to see all the familiar famous landmarks, now in ruin. It's fantastic. Just makes for a really great experience overall with the game. If you want to say you personally prefer the older ones, I won't argue with you, but in regards to everything that came after FO3, it feels like a no contest to me.

With 5, nothing about it really makes it stand higher than the others in any catagory. It's the most middling entry in the series, not terrible but not great either. I do actually like Fallout 3, warts and all.
