I'm thinking about getting a Rog xbox ally x for this holiday season, I'm planning on playing mostly indies/emulators and some AAA from before 2020, will it be alright? I know that the steam deck is cheaper but being able to play Fortnite on it is a huge plus for me. Also I already have a gayming pc/switch/PS5 but I want to play on the bed/while waiting for my flights and no I don't care if I look dumb in public.

you can play fortnite on a steamdeck as well, partition out a 150gb bit of the internal drive and you're fine, it's what I did to play cod, lost ark, destiny 2, fortnite, etc.If you don't intend to make use of the power the ally x has over the steam deck, don't spend the extra money. I wouldn't get the Rog XboxI have the Deck and the Rog Ally X and I use the Rog Ally X in bed almost nightly. Its fine for emulation. EmuDeck makes setup a breeze.
