Played the VF5 open beta today and had some fun since i always enjoyed VF.As much i like fighters, i am just better than usual casual and thats it. Every time i just have fun the few first days and then it feels pointless because the only people that stay in the long term are those who just focus on this genre and have their own groups to practice which i dont.And i dont play Tekken or SF6. Tekken it never clicked on me. SF6 i dont have it and wont soon.I do wish i could play more SC6 or a DoA online.Played Strive when it came out and then stopped. Had fun with Axl and Pot for a while

Try Virtua Fighter 5. The game has a speed to it that no other game replicates. If you and an opponent are in the flow state the game is absolutely exhilarating. Movement is easy and the game isnt very combo based at all.

I dunno. I'm just so bored with fighting games. I play SF6 and it feels so formulaic and scrubby. Run away until you can drive rush in to start your strike/throw, end round 3 with a gigantic lv.3 combo. got tired of that so I tried out 2xko, which ended up with me getting shredded by Yasuo/Ekko teams having no idea what just happened to me. Go to fightcade to play 3s and it's an army of ken and chun-lis playing "opti". just fuck off already.

>>722768187Meters were a mistake. Whether they charge over time, fill from damage done/taken, or whatever else, they've reduced a lot of fighters into really lame play as they fill up. Most of the time, the meters are only used for combo extensions, combo enders, and jumpscare moves to fraud your way through neutral. They offer no true value, and have only diminished all other aspects of the genre in favor of increasingly longer combos and 10+ second long super animations.

Maybe I'd need to find my groove with a team, but all that layered on top is turning me away.Warwick, from my testing, was simple fun though. Not sure about the tag and the pulse systems though. I play a lot of KoF 98 and 60% pick Iori, Orochi Yashiro (the one with grabs), and Chris. Sometimes it's Clark and Takuma as well. No one plays female characters or Heidern or Team Sports or Andy or Shingo or Saisyu. They particularly love characters with uninterruptable supers. It's so tiresome, at least Americans and Europeans don't do that, I have so much respect for players with Vice or Yuri in their team.
