>>722628674The new storybook pages are mistranslated, they confirm the multiverse and mention that Mari travelled to another universe when she became a star by escaping the "circle" of the current "pilgrimage", this is how she refers to the current universal incarnation, what they mistranslated as "the path". The canon of the Mario universe has seemed inconsistent all this time because they are all parallel universes. In the japanese version they also make it more obvious that Mari is the luma in the movie because of her persobality, nihilistic quotes and apathy and her mention of being trapped in a cage in one universe. Rosalina also mentions that it's possible she could enter this universe if the next pilgrimage leads her there, as she speaks to the player in the new pages in SMG1. This is potentially hinting the mario movie because in that universe mario the real world exists. They don't explain how it's possible for there to be a multiverse and a cyclical process of birth and rebirth so that's possibly material for the movie or SMG3. They don't explain how Mari is able to escape the circle/limit of the universes or how Rosalina is even aware of what happened because later she explains exiting the current universe is impossible when she tells Lubba she won't be able to do that by becoming a star as she wanted.
