i truly dont get the complaints much at all. I dont think wuk lamat is that bad of a character, and i like the way the story is moving. The soundtrack too is awesome. they tried to get a "vacation" type of feel with all of the ambience, and they definitely succeeded.i didnt start dawntrail for the longest time because i was expecting such a shitshow, but the complaints were honestly unfounded. dawntrail is pretty awesome. For people complaining Wuk Lamat has character flaws.... THATS THE POINT. Its about a person with lots of obstacles, working through them. Wuk Lamat is so close during the whole expac, because the story of the expac is literally about her dilemma, along with your character being in a new land with no idea of the customs or geography, and her being the obvious option to show you around, being a noble from this place that your character is working with!I dont get the complaints at all. I honestly wonder if the outrager against dawntrail and the accursed Wuk Lamat is even real. I wouldnt ber surpised if its blacklisting was a political thing, due to the current anti-diversity, anti-feminine, anti-peace, etc sentiment. This is a good expansion, And people I think are just jumping on a bandwagon because they need something to be pissed aboutafter waiting a year to even start it due to such bad expectation,s the past few days ive been constantly pleasantly surprised by how great it is. i feel bad for the devs that the groyper army apparently got them

Even Ala Mhiggo which is oppressed to fuck and practically a dead culture of ruins has better written culture than Tural. Notice How I didn't complain about Wuk Lamat, she's generic shounen protagonist and I don't think my WoL would support her so fervently, but shes not super poorly written, aside from that time she got kidnapped. All the scions have had lobotomies. Anyways I quit before the trial against valigarmanda. MSQ was insufferable. I stopped paying digital rent and canceled the sub, deleted the game.

I hate how the entirety of solution nine feels like an excuse to add more generic modern streetwear to the visual aesthetic of the game. It's fucking surreal playing ARR or HW back when this was a fantasy game and not second lifeDawntrail has some fun dungeons and extreme trials and stuff, but the story is boring. Spins it's wheels for the first half and goes off the rails in a pretty generic way by the end.The formula is just getting extremely stale, DTs mistakes are almost ALL made by endwalker but endwalker could coast off shadowbringers goodwill and being the finale to a big overarching story.DT just has all the same issues that keep plaguing expansions. Giant square maps that are supposed to represent way too large of an area on the world map that the believability of the world is lessened (compared fantasy africa to fantasy North AND south America in terms of density, DT shouldn't have gone north of mexico setting wise, rather than represent all of NA as a desert and cyberpunk dome).The quests are still complete shit, the newest patch tried to do something more interesting with quests but doesn't change how much of DT is just running to location, waiting, and then watching a cutscene where someone explains their culture in depth, quest design has been this bad for a long time but I'd expect better by now.I also swear to God if we get one more final dungeon that's just "antagonist narrates over the memory of how their world got destroyed", it's so played out it's embarrassing now.The reflection shit is getting exhausting and I half expect the next expansion to take place in some new reflection that looks exactly like modern Tokyo.Also I just generally think most of the gear added in this expansion is ugly, so basically I don't find any aspect of the expansion enjoyable besides running extremes.Wuk Lamat is kinda annoying though, I played in japanese so didn't have to deal with the elephant in the room, I still don't understand her obsession with sphene

the only complaints i have are the same complaints you could have about every expac. but for what it is, inside of that framework, its a good expac>>722632763thats really not true. i feel its supposed to have a type of vacation treasure hunt activity type of feel to it, and of course there are serious events that happen along with it. if it wasnt like this, and went full-on vacation vibe without the dramatic stuff, then everyone would be complaining and wondering why theyre even playing. Dawntrail is a peice of digital art that people just have to have taste to be able to appreciate. Tasteless WOWslop chuds cant get it, so they complain. I feel like dawntrail is definitely the expac where they began to get the picture that ffxiv isnt WOW2.0, and has its own presence that isnt about catering to them
