Were these pre 1999 baldur's gate goldbox dungeon crawlers actually good & immersive?I've only ever played a bit of the icewind dale 2 so I have nothing to compare them to,can you make kobolds into warriors or mages?
Bumping for interest
I played the hell out of the Krynn trilogy. They are heavily combat focused. The second game, Death Knights of Krynn is probably the best one.
>>722635859I played a ton of Unlimited Adventures, and Swords and Serpents back in the day. Krynn too
>>722635859usually these games are held back by their terrible menu and item management systems. They weren't very immersive, you were pretty lucky if you even got sprite recolors for some games.
>>722640679>those brick wallsWizardry much........
>>722635859They were pretty alright. However, they had pretty severe racial level restrictions. In the Pool of Radiance games, you basically couldn't use demi-humans past the early bits of the second game. The Krynn games relaxed things a bit and gave them higher level limits so they could actually be used in the later games.
>>722635859is that a dungeon for ants
>>722641414sorry anon here you go!
>>722635859Goldbox was the worst of both worldsBad dungeons with bad mechanics that feel like a chore to play
>>722635859yeah, BG simplified a lot of stuff to make it more "action filled" and cinematic to impress the normalfags
>>722643485sape
>>722643485that's not even the same genres anon
