In particular, I really wish the "visions" you get near the end of RE7 had been explored more so I would incorporate those sorts of things throughout.To continue with RE7 and RE8 being based off of different horror subgenres, the enemies in my RE game would be based off of Lovecraft. The main threat would be a parasitic xenophyophorea (look it up) that is mutating people into fish-crustacean-human hybrids. Other stand out threats would be ghoul-like creatures whose bodies are skeletal and heavily encrusted with the xenophyophorea, mutated sea-life, and some sort of Tyrant-esque "Shoggoth" capable of liquefying itself to stealth around and appear suddenly out of nowhere.There would be a lot of weird, possibly even "magical" phenomenon that other characters would also encounter and comment on, but the twist of the game is that everyone who's "infected" is being drawn into a sort of "hivemind" by becoming part of a massive, single-celled parasitic organism. Your player character would have gotten infected sometime during the beginning hours of the game.The second twist at the end of the game is that there is no real "cult"; aside from quite a lot of it just being the standard RE bio-mutations and the shared hallucinations caused by the infection, the Xenophyophorea would turn out to be a bio-weapon created by the government. It's been implied since like RE2 at least that the government has been developing bio-weapons, so it'd be nice to actually see one for once.Perhaps to continue the Lovecraftian theming the whole thing could have been the result of an accident; it wasn't an intentional test or a bio-terrorism incident, it was just an accidental breach of containment that'll get swept under the rug.
