Incredibly bad games sell millions of copies all of the time. A game being bad has surprisingly little bearing on why it fails. There are an enormity of examples of mediocre games printing money because it pushes less black guy and more tits & ass. People are presented with more games in each year than they could feasibly play in a decade and have to weed them out through any petty method necessary.It is usually, actually the black guy.

I think it flopped more due to the lack of marketing than anything, Activision is a generally shitty publisher and they fired and replaced half of Radical Entertainment in the middle of Prototype's production and then they fired half of the studio again while they were working on Prototype 2 (and probably replaced them). This is also the same publisher that was already bringing in tons of money from their cash cows like Call of Duty, but they decided Radical Entertainment needs to be shut down anyway.

And the entire comment section went on and on about how that makes sense because it's a black guy and how they will not buy it because of the black guy.I personally pirated it and just dropped it a few hours in.
