Is Skyrim the most casual RPG of all time?
>>722642571probably paper mario or pokemon
>>722642653>Paper Mario>PokemonSkyrim is at the same level as those games
>>722642571I'd almost argue something like Ys 1 and 2 are more casual from a mechanical standpoint, it's just that the games offer challenging and fun boss fights. Skyrim is a good chill out sorta game and works great to fill that casual void. If I want something more in-depth I can play something like Morrowind instead, or play something different altogether like Wizardry. But if you just wanna turn your brain off and go hack n slash shit for a bit, Skyrim's not a bad pick.
System-wise maybe. I replayed it recently and some enemies can really fuck you up.
>>722643962>more in-depth>Morrowind
>>722644298It is more in-depth than Skyrim, yes. That's not me calling it some crazy complex game, but there is more going on with it mechanically than Skyrim.
>>722645593Skyrim is more in-depth than morrowind both gameplay-wise (active blocking, bashing to cancel enemy attacks) and character building-wise (perks, actually functional stealth system). Morrowind cultists are insane, the "old good new bad" stereotypical contrarians dialed up to 9000.
>>722646641you can fly, create insane game breaking spells and potions that make skyrim look like a chastity cage, and generally do more insane shit in morrowind than skyrim.>stealth is broken in morrowind>but it's fine in skyrim where having 70+ sneak means you can basically tapdance around enemies as long as it's not blazing daylight at noon and slaughter them at your leisureholy casual. that said skyrim does have some better systems in some cases but you are fucking delusional if you think it has as many (good) options as morrowind.
>>722642571No but it's up there. Love me some Skyrim, though. Was playing it today again
>>722647227>you can flyLiterally "cheese already braindead AI": the spell.>game breakingExploits are not depth.>create spellsSpellmaking system is trash, because it makes magic into a collectathon where you hunt down the cheapest spell just to unlock its effect. There are zero reasons to ever buy stronger spells from trainers.>>stealth is broken in morrowind>>but it's fine in skyrim where having 70+ sneak means you can basically tapdance around enemies as long as it's not blazing daylight at noon and slaughter them at your leisureYes, it is fine. I'd rather take Skyrim's overpowered sneak than morrowshit's non-functional one.>you are fucking delusional if you think it has as many (good) options as morrowindIt doesn't have as many, it has more, going off the gameplay variety alone.
