I see all the hype and praise for SH2R and I just don't get it. It feels like wow you got more mechanical polish, technically, but it doesn't really do anything to serve the game or story? Fights were a weave or a clumsy necessity, now they're constant ambushes and life or death murder battles every couple minutes when you're not in a puzzle. It's like it stopped being SH2 and became RE2R, and that's arguably better on a gameplay front, but it doesn't really service Silent Hill fuckin 2.

LITERALLY made for people who never played a SH game. The real fans hated it, as it was just another SH:HC style OTS action game.

> It's like it stopped being SH2 and became RE2R,
Correct. And TLOU.
>and that's arguably better on a gameplay front
It's not. ALL the modern DE-makes are a prime example of why OTS / FPS is literally a creative dead-end that only downgrades the gameplay and cinematography.

Add in all the inherit UE5 jank and DEI shit (Sweet Baby Inc), and you got yourself an AIDS coated pile of wet feces that is the SH2 (2024).
