My own ancedote started with being into anthropomorphic characters since I was young, but it wasn't sexual for me, they were just cool like the Animorphs, or if you can lump capeshit like Wolverine, Batman and Spider-Man into it, humans with animal like powers. I was also reading Archie Sonic and other comics or media that featured anthro characaters. Despite that throughout my teens and especially during the brony fandom I vehemently hated furries, with the basis that they're pedos and ferals/cubs exist, but I especially hated bronies for how surface level it was. Later on I got Skyrim, and although I knew Oblivion existed, I didn't know about Argonians or Khajiits. Still didn't do anything for me, but it cemented the whole animal-human hybrid thing being cool and superpower like. Fast forward I think it was around the 2020s with the pandemic and all that, despite it being normal for me having been a shut-in on the internet all my life, I found furries were more accepting as far as friend groups would go, so I stuck around them a lot. It cemented my hatred for bronies, ferals, cubs, etc. but truly seeing how vile humanity really is from 2016 onward and especially during COVID I found it much easier to stop caring about living in the real world and wanting to escape more. I found Argonians and Werewolves attractive, I realized that more fantasy body types were acceptable, and I ultimately just gave up on caring about humans. I still do find human females attractive and I still want to kill myself but at least I'm not burdened with the idea that the current idea of a woman is either a trans mtf or an Beverly Hills airhead. Like half of my runs on previous betas started with crafting multiple neural boosters to go hypersonic on first 2-3 layers, and they just breezing through the rest of the game.I like how it's reminiscent of cataclysm, and how it captures the same kind of cadence - it's comfy sitting in a pod and strategizing what to craft next, while some materials like the biochem provide more dynamic interactions with the environment of collecting stuff you wouldn't care about before and thinking whether you really need 20 wooden sheets, but i do think the game looses a bit on the physical "drag all the items around" gimmick which also allowed you to craft with stuff from the ground.I am honestly not sure about the str and res myself though, mostly because i played a packrat and constantly ran around with 50%+ encumbrance or worse, and leaving second layer with 15 units of carrying capacity makes inventory management laughably trivial in comparison to being used to manually juggling around toolboxes for climbing obstacles. Most you could get before was with 12, only achievable with NBs and stimulants like coffee.What i really like is the new claw integrity system. A lot of authentic complexity that complements the character very well, and entirely depends on how well you manage it.
