Any good dungeon crawlers (USA or JPN) for retro emulator consoles (no mouse/keyboard)?
>>722650571Played Shining The Holy Ark not long ago and thought it was pretty fun and kino
>>722650571The PS1 ports of Wizardry 1-5 are very solid, and offer automapping as an option if you want it. There's also different graphics settings and English, you just have to change it in the settings. Note that spell descriptions won't be translated as those were added with those ports and not in the original where they were in the manual. Megami Tensei is also a fun franchise if you want some dungeon crawlers. MT1 and 2 on famicom (or Kyuuyaku Megami Tensei on SFC, which is both games with better visuals but noticeably downgraded music), and Shin Megami Tensei 1, 2, and If.. on SFC as well.
>>722650571All Phantasy Stars are dungeon crawlers, the first one has first person dungeons, with probably the best hallway walking animation in 2D ever done.
Sword of Vermillion
>>722651780The Saturn port of Wizardry VI just got a fan translation.
Yes I love the SMT and I promise to play Baroque one day.
>>722650571Only Phantasy Star 1 and Shining in the Darkness. All the others are M&M tier blobbers without animation.
>>722651780>Megami Tensei is also a fun franchise if you want some dungeon crawlersseconding this, early wizardry is kinda ass.
>>722650571Comfy game.
>>722650571God I love Shining in the Darkness so much.I've beaten that game at least 10 times now.
>>722654784I hate it, but it's the best example of a shitty game having unfathomable amounts of Soul.
>>722657205It's not the best jarpig, but I certainly wouldn't call it shitty. It was made on a shoestring budget, and it shows when it's far less in depth than Phantasy Star 1. Despite that, as you pointed out, it's chock full of Shining Soul.
