Why does nobody ever mention the fact that Metal Gear Solid blatantly rips off James Bond? Even when it comes to stuff like the importance of Bond themes, MGS3 has a killer main theme that is actually very similar to a James Bond theme. I like the game as much as any other /v/ fag, but can we at least be honest about the plagiarism?

Maybe musically and the spy-esque nature of it but metal gear has a far more gritty soldiery aspect to it that very much classes with the more sophisticated and suave fine establishments aspects of James Bond. So I find it hard to call it a ripoff, the games merely have some surface level aspects that are similar.

It's not a blatant rip-off.
Kojimbo is a movie retard and comes very close to plagiarizing some of them in his works here and there but MGS3 as a whole isn't even close to doing that to 007 movies.

They do mention that and James Bond is known as one of its clear inspiration, especially with 3. Somewhere between inspiration and homage though, hardly plagiarism and definitely self-aware and forthcoming about these inspirations
