>remember playing the game as a kid

>main character is hot

>every single enemy in the game is just annoying to deal with
>short as fuck (which is a good thing in this case)
Remind me again, how come there's only ONE video game with Heavy Metal aesthetics? And by heavy metal I mean hot chicks in steel bikinis butchering mutants in post-apocalyptic locales with swords and big guns, not just metal genre as a whole being an inspiration, like Brutal Legend.

>how come there's only ONE video game with Heavy Metal aesthetics?
Not exactly a video game, but the XPiratez mod for XCOM is exactly what you want.
>>
>>722656886
2000s had sexy girls, the continuation of 90s cool. Heavenly sword is another typical entry.
>>
>>722656886
I only played this game as a kid because of the hot girl. I remember catching a gremlin in a village and throwing it into a fountain, which caused some strange mutation that made it try to attack me. I also recall doing a tutorial where I was throwing things like boomerangs and stones. I remember it wasn’t all that fun.
>>
I don't remember much of gameplay, but I also don't remember being annoyed or disliking combat so much.
What I do remember is being scared of sounds of enemies chasing me through flooded caves, throught they would make me drown or something, but I returned to the game years later and finished it.

God, i love women so much

Dunno but the game was ass
It's one of the reasons why hot designs are usually associated with mid games (at best)
>>722657465
Heavenly Sword was an alright game
Beautiful cutscenes though
Shit load times
/v/ would shit on the game though if it was released today
>>
>>722660074
Heavenly sword was shit on at release tho. By a lot of people. Tech demo was kind of the concensus.

T. Didnt browse /v/ back then
>>
>>722660156
That was after the PS2
If a sequel wasn't better than the previous entry at everything, it was regarded shit.
>>

Stellar blade or ninja gaiden are pretty popular.

Boomers killed rock because they grew up and realized the drums and electric guitars they used to love are actually too fucking loud

>>722660074
Gain taste and gain T, the game was fun.
>>
>>722656886
Lots of weapons
She gets progressively less dressed as game goes on
Last boss requires to damage him till he drops his huge ass giant sword and then grab it and sever his head with it. Huuuge sword. Decapitation itself was annoying to pull off, because op is right and melee sucks. But looked awesome.
Everything else is correct too. Game had lots of problems, but it was memorable.
>>
>>722660074

5 billion per cent, maybe more
>>
>>722660074
>It's one of the reasons why hot designs are usually associated with mid games (at best)
no it's not
normalfags literally don't even know this game exists
>>
>>722656886
The only thing I remember this game for is the level where there are large, bare, lactating breasts on the walls
>>
>>722663831
Yeah, those are not in the game, you're probably thinking of that one South Park episode
>>
>>722663698
I'm not saying this game specifically did that damage, just games like that in general
>>
>>722660074

bullshit
games without attractive characters are all bad

That Heavy Metal show is fucking weird. I watched it with my friend's dad one time and it was very uncomfortable when all the chicks started pulling their tits out and fucking all over the place.

Why are browns like this
>>
>>722656886
The reason that was made was because Julie (RIP) was involved with Heavy Metal 2000. I never bothered to watch that or the original, but they gave off the vibe of "le cartoon for adults" like Ralph Bakshi shit (though I named one of my cats Fritz).
>>

Is it? I find it pointless as someone who used to be a hardcore christian. Life is so pointless and arbitrary without a divine and innate puropse to our lives. Last time i tripped on shrooms in the woods i actually became depressed about this and got hyperfixated on the topic.

In some ways i agree, because it's so tragically short that we need to make the most of our time here.
>>
>>722656886
>Remind me again, how come there's only ONE video game with Heavy Metal aesthetics?
specifically pertaining to Heavy Metal itself since who else would get their aesthetics right, if it got an AO rating back in the day it would be a death sentence on sales. That's an immediate "nah" I would imagine from creative types that might not want to be told by some stringbean in a suit that he can't have too many buttcracks meanwhile some games have ungodly amounts of gore and god knows what other atrocities.
I can't speak to how well the magazine is doing, if it still has living oldguard, if it has people currently on board that are at all interested in making vidya or even realize they could sell on steam for instance despite an AO, if they're even still in business, etc., but I think it's a safe assumption they aren't exactly in a position to pursue a game even if they wanted to.
aesthetic-wise loops back to being fearful of not making sales, and without a respected(?) boomer name like Heavy Metal attached, a good amount of people are going to look away barring the same crowd that's perfectly happy to pay for the same low budget uncanny CGI shit that flooded steam in the past year or so.
And then there's the consideration of a bunch of virtue signaling cunts on twitter likely to be the main source of free advertising regardless of who made such a game, assuming it isn't some chinese or japanese game we'd never hear about until some voicepitched vtuber happened to feature it in a pixelart fucked-on-loss/ryona porngame video on youtube advertising an STI-ridden APK.
>>
>>722666775
It absolutely is. Maybe your loss of faith was difficult, but don't give up yet, keep going. There is a reason, and I'm not religious at all. not an atheist either.

Life is a beautiful thing, just look at the stars or the trees on a nice day and you can see for yourself, how nice it is that they're there. Pain and death are parts of life, sure, but without them the rest wouldn't mean much, if it was just a happy fun ride the whole time. They give us depth and purpose, a reason to do the things we do.
>>
>>722666501
Games like Bloodrayne, I'm talking about the mid shitfest games that are maybe alright at best.
>>
>>722667029

What is it about early 2000s and hot chicks running around musty swamps?
>>
>>722666775
Do you so shrooms alone? I feel like thatd be boring
>>
>>722666983
Maybe my problem is a pessimist and i need to choose the optimistic side when not presented with any evidence. Looking at the stars should be mandatory for all people at night. Remind them of how small and unimportant their lives are compared to the vastness of the universe. Most people think their lives are so important. I find this to be arrogant.
>>
>>722667165
It makes sense for HMF2 and Tomb Raider.
Wasn't mud wrestling kinda popular in the 90s/2000s?
>>
>>722667227
It's not that the stars should make you feel unimportant. Everything is important. They're doing their thing and so are we. This idea that you should see the stars and feel insignificant is nonsense. Everything matters.
>>
>>722667176
I often prefer to trip alone. Last time i brought my gf she got scared and wouldnt leave the tent. I enjoy it when i don't let myself get hyper fixated on shit that normally makes me depressed if i don't push back into my mind. I'm a classic overthinker.
>>
>>722667349
>Everything matters.
Source? nah jk. I'm trying to believe.

Bloodrayne is great tho (the 1st one), and the character is fine af
>>
>>722667525
Just go lay in the grass and feel it for yourself. I'm often overly rational but some things can't be explained that way, you just feel it and know it. Maybe one day science will catch up and measure and explain these things, but whatever, it's there whether we're aware of it or not.

Feel the sunlight on your skin. Smell the air. It's all good.

>Colorado and Tennesee
ha I'm from Kentucky and in Wyoming now. The outdoors is a great thing. When we close ourselves into small indoor spaces, small problems start seeming like big problems, a matter of perspective I guess. But then you go outside, and realize that those things aren't real problems.
>>
>>722656886
Tbqh the movie heavy metal is also not really as good as one might remember it being
>>
>>722665942
Wrong. Acid is great for movies. One of my best trips started with a movie marathon that included faust and scanners, ended with frisbee in the park after breakfast. You sound like a backseat psychonaut that is no fun to trip with.
>>
>>722668284
Nice, bro. How you like it? Met a few transplants from there while in CO. Cool people. They love the outdoors there, mostly.
I did the concrete sidewalks around the Wyoming state capitol building when i was living in NOCO.

Had a great hike in Whyoming at a place i think was called Vedauwoo? Awesome place. Ever been?
>>
>>722668663
Hey man, if that works for you then it's all good. I'm just saying that for me, it's always better outdoors.

>>722668674
I love it. Good work on those sidewalks, probably the nicest in the whole state lol there used to be 2 escalators in the state, but now there's only 1 so sidewalks are important. There are more cows than people here. And yeah I know Vedavoo, not sure how it's spelled either but it's a cool place. Got caught in a lightning storm there once, on top of the whole thing, and tried to find a place to hide until it passed. Found a cave, but there was a mountain lion in there that gave me a look, said you can come in here if you want to fight. I didn't, so I kept descending the rocks.

That would have scared the shit out of me. Probably the critter i'm scared of the most. Never seen a mountain lion but one time my buddy from casper almost stepped on a rattlesnake when it failed to rattle.
>>
>>722669835
Rattlesnakes are rattling less thanks to retards. They were the one kind snake that warned you before there was any trouble, but people kept hunting down the noisiest ones to kill them and taking the rattles, so now evolution is leading them towards not being able to rattle. They still shake their tails so I guess that's something.

It was because of the cultural zeitgeist of the late '70s and early '80s. Heavy Metal magazine was an American clone of the French magazine Metal Hurlant, which collected various European science fiction and fantasy comics. They wanted to keep metal in the name & they liked heavy metal (which was becoming more and more popular), so that was that. Early metal also shared an association with, or accusations of, satanism and the occult with early TRPGs. Some metal band members were huge nerds too, check out Dio's "Holy Diver" music video. Then power metal came along and further cemented the connection.
