The buzzword people like to use these days is 'horizontal progression'. And OSRS really does excel at that.WoW replaces its previous content every 3 months, and aside from the transmog collectionist types there's little reason to ever revisit any of the older content. OSRS has sidegrades, and alternative (but not necessarily better) methods of progression, and item upgrades rather than entire replacements (item b requires item a to make).
