They've sold over 300k copies on premium 4 days early price tag, sadly they're fine.

That's funny because they killed Civ6 at the same time.
>>
I only needed to see who they chose as leaders to know I'll never buy it.
>>
>>722662708
it really is funny that nearly half of the people who were happily playing 6 just disappeared within a few months after release and never came back
>>
i maintain that branching civ development based on what you do in game with a single leader is a neat idea
just not with historical civs
>>
>>722663290
no, it's a mess
reverse the premise
single civ, different leaders
like AoM

>humankind does this

>firaxis sees this
>hmm maybe we should do the exact same thing

It's a cool idea if
>you can't just go from anything in age n to anything in age n+1, there is a civilization tree
>there's more ages or their borders are softened and they can blend into themselves
>you can keep your existing civ if you wanted to
>being able to swap civilization to a new one actually took some effort
>past civilizations leave a "mark", same civ reached through different paths are slightly different
>there's a minimum of like 50 civs to at least map out the major branches of civilizations' evolutions
All in all it would require much more work than regular civ srtup, which is the exact opposite of why they wanted to do it in the first place

It could be a neat mechanic if it wasn't always infested with woke shit.
>North African kingdom becomes a sub saharan bantu nation because we wuz kangz
If you need a medieval/renaissance nation for egypt to become, where are the mamluks?

but anon, imposing restrictions like this would require recognition that nations are merely masks worn by a continuous and distinct people over time, which directly undermines the globalist grey goo agenda!
>>
>>722666526
>distinct people
soon that'll be fixed by making everyone brown and ugly
>>
>>722666724
we must dissent

Seriously why is the entire market going out of their way to copy a flop?
>>
>>722670118
They're all owned by the same group and thus must push the same agenda
>>
>>722665550
The civs you can switch to are based on your previous civ, leader, and any gameplay-related unlocks you achieve (e.g.: having enough horse tiles unlocks the Mongols). It’s still kind of clumsy but it’s better than Humankind where it’s a total free for all and you can go from Olmecs to Romans because fuck you.
>>
>>722671065
>tubbie transmuting egypt into niggerland, "america", or mongolia is fine and definitely not arbitrary bullshit
