What went wrong?
>>722661514Nothing though The Beast is too small for its price tag (it's roughly 1-1.5x The Following), they should've advertised it as a smaller game and reduced the price to 30-40$
>>722662097Yeah, The Beast has the opposite problems of DL2. DL2 had a lot of content, including a lot of post-game content, but most of it is boring grindy shit. The Beast has little content, and zero post-game content, but all of it is actually interesting. In DL2 there is no reason to be out during they day since the night multiplies your XP, and the nights aren't at all dangerous, they are just used to grind shit. In the Beast the nights are very dangerous, but there is no reason to be out during the night since only missions give any meaningful XP and there is nothing to farm, so you just always skip the nights. In DL2 you are too mobile with the paraglider, in The Beast you aren't mobile enough, and cool mobility skills are locked behind activating the beast mode.(you should be able to use skills like the big jump or grappling pull without activating the beast mode, instead they should just use up a little of the beast juice bar)
>>722661514DL1 was just too good, they peaked there and didn't know what to do after.
>>722661514This series has always been midslop
>>722662648The Beast will be getting support like DL1 and DL2 got, but they've gone on record that DL2 will be the game they will be sticking with, like they promised before. We've gotten updates in DL2 that fixed several issues but there's still the story that needs to be fixed.
>>722662648Yeah, pretty much. I think they overcompensated with the night difficulty specifically because of the criticisms about it in DL2 where it was not only brighter but also easier, but now you seriously don't have a reason to go outside at night at all and you can't see shit anyway. I don't remember if restoring the power made the dark streets illuminated though but it would be cool if it did. I don't actually know doing the substations actually did.The gear is pretty ineffectual because most of it is shit like "+15% melee damage" from wearing a full set. At least upgrading the schematics is no longer a tedious zombie grind but I found myself barely crafting the weapon mods because they require oxidizers and those things rarely ever appear during regular scavenging and shops don't sell it.Mobility was fine but dashing everywhere was almost as fast as going by car because the car is slow and has to deal with all sorts of obstructions when you can just run towards the objective in a straight line. You can upgrade the grappling hook to let it pull you up repeatedly.
>>722663224>I don't actually know what doing the substations actually did.Fixed That For Me.
>We have another 11 years to live in the Crane is captured eraGrim
why can i dash and slide infinitely in the beast it's pretty broken
>>722661514Story shit but who cares ?? Gameplay is fun
>>722662648>nights aren't at all dangerousActually not dangerous or not dangerous if you're an 1337 g4m3r?I've heard people calling nights in DL1 safe.
>>722666250>I've heard people calling nights in DL1 safenights in DL1 do become braindead once you get to to old town cuz volatiles suck at traversing rooftops.
>>722666602Once you maxxed out and got a shotgun and grapple, Volaties become another common Zombies anyway
>>722661514>fires Chris Avellone>game turns into shit
>>722666943>shotgunYou made me realize I played the dungeon mode so much I forgot the game had guns.
using guns, grapple, camoflage, survivor vision and cutscene kills is cheating
Playing at hard difflicuty on dying light its not fun at all
>>722670139that's right you need to play at brutal
>>722671963>Volatiles and Brutes are now unkillable and one shot youNo
>>722661514When will they got back to Call of Jaurez?
