It's a big name game being made by a competent studio with good track record. It also got enough publicity catch zoomers attention. It won't make Souls numbers but it'll be enough to put itself back on the spotlight and with enough luck, drive the NG2 purist to suicide so we can finally have NG threads in peace.
Even Souls fans are beginning to get sick of Souls combat, if NG4 can manage to connect with people outside the genre like MGR and DMC5 did it could be a decent hit. NG4 might not set the world on fire, but having a combat system thats very unique from anything else out there right now when every other 3D action game is starting to feel very "samey" is a big mark in its favor

He was stoic to the point of unintentional humor in NG 1 and 2, they tried to fix this in NG 3 and he just felt generic and completely bitch made there. With a new, eager to prove himself hotshot as the lead character, Ryu comfortably fits into the role of the perfect Super Ninja who can guide Yakumo and kick the shit out of him if needed. Pretty much the role he was designed for in DoA. Yakumo is also a symbolic new beginning for people to get into the franchise, when that really wasn't needed in Devil May Cry.
