Back when everything encouraged playing with other people which just doesn't cut it for this type of game. >>722666918You know how all those anime about mmos always make mmos look fun and comfy? Well this is one of the few games to have ever came close to that. Mabinogi is like a sandbox mmo where you can be and do whatever the fuck you want at your own pace as in there's no treadmill progression. Jobs are called talents and you can be all of them at once. Talents comes in different flavors like your usual mmo combat classes but also non combat talents like commerce, excavation, cooking, music making, etc. and you can really indulge into the non combat classes as there's a full deep mechanic to those.Modern Mabinogi is a completely different game though as they slowly turned it into how modern mmos are today. There used to be no form of tank, healer, dps system as you carried your own skills and weight since you can gain all the skills from all the classes at once. Now there's several late game systems that try to create these systems. Despite all that there's still some gems buried under the shit modern mechanics. >>722667365Nexon was very generous with this game at one point. They actually cared about Mabinogi compared to their other mmos. Its also getting an Unreal Engine update people are getting high hopes for because unlike a lot of games getting an Unreal Update, Mabinogi really needed it. The game's been using 20+ year old code held together with duck tape and bubblegum on modern systems. They even showed samples and it looked amazing enough that people are holding off coming back to the game until Unreal Engine update gets released..
I tried it when there was Freiren collab and yeah it was interesting but not for me idk but i just didnt like it.
