What other indie sequels improve the gameplay but are utterly lacking in their original soul?

Eyeframes raped, dodge has an added start up, sprint is a terrible addition, all weapons are ranged hit and run garbage, boon range is too wide making RNG a gigantic factor in every run, bosses are a downgrade and kept the same issues of invulnerabllity and fucking mob spawning. Chronos cheats in the fight if you opt to use the timeslow ability he's unaffected because >muh lore. New card system replacing the mirror is a good idea with bad execution. Added grinding for over 100 materials is false complexity and artificial game length that takes a mental toll on anyone who likes to optimize runs due to needing a retardedly low or off number of floors completed. Hades 2 is a direct downgrade in every way.

Blasphemous 2 even though I still liked it, it did miss something from the original and it's not just the lack of pixel art in the cutscenes.
