Just a reminder that if the console isn't universally compatible with all bluetooth and USB controllers, then all of its controllers are ewaste.
Just a reminder that handheld controllers are made to be cheap pack-ins for consoles, using shortcuts like drift-prone sticks and membrane d-pads, so all handheld controllers are also e-waste.
Just a a reminder that releasing obsolete controllers continuously is wasteful, so not including gyro functionality on new controllers just creates ewaste.
Don't buy ewaste.

>>722823050
The switch pro controller has a battery that's piss easy to replace. You remove the screws from the handles and pull them off and then you have four more screws for the backside to remove the back plate and that's it. You literally only need the right screwdriver size and some basic understanding how to use one. The new pro 2 controller requires you to pop off the face plate and then disassemble half the thing to reach the battery. Former isn't really anti consumer it only requires you to be a functional human being but the latter certainly is.

>>
>>722823563
Yes. I replaced my phone's battery once after 6 years and have been using it for another 3 years since.
It took a bit of time, but it was easy enough, two screws, pry the screen up, pry the battery up with a simple pull of the glue tab, put new battery and glue in, close it back up.
With how long these batteries last, there's no reason for it to be easily removable. I still remember on my previous phone if I dropped it and the battery cover and battery would always fly out.
>>
I don't care about screws, I just prefer AA batteries because you can easily find them in stores. Luckily the leaked DualSense revision will use them.

In combat or defensive use, requiring a screwdriver would be impractical and dangerous. That’s why virtually all military and civilian firearms are designed for tool-less reloading.
By the time you replace the battery in your controller you most likely will be already dead (in minecraft)

The U.S. military (and others) have actually used Xbox controllers and similar gamepads in real-world operations. Here are some examples:
Soldiers have used off-the-shelf Xbox controllers to remotely operate bomb-disposal robots in places like Afghanistan.
The U.S. Navy’s USS Colorado attack submarine uses an Xbox 360 controller to operate its photonics mast (a modern periscope system).

I don't understand the 8bitdo hate the only issue I had with them was the membranes for the buttons. My 8bitdo SN30 pro was probably the only controller in my life that I actually wore out a button to where it was slow to bounce back and affected action games. To be fair I was unemployed playing DMC3SE, Smash ultimate, some other fighting games, and then mashing every single pokemon and other JRPGs like 10+ hours a day. It was bound to happen, otherwise I don't think I've ever broken or worn out a controller.

Well they are overpriced I got two of them for 12 bucks on amazon when they did a clearance. Unfortunately controllers have nearly always been overpriced even third party shitter ones.

>microsoft really brainwashed a generation of retards into believing that its a good thing that they arent putting rechargeables into their gamepads while charging premium for them.
Sony cucked you into believing a fixed 1000mah battery that barely lasts 3 hours when all the features are enabled is a good idea. And if you dare to try and replace it, you void the warranty on the controller, meaning if you ever suffer from stick drift or a double-inputting d-pad, you're the one forced to pay for and repair them because Sony won't touch the thing.

It costs $15 on Amazon to get some 4 Philips 2500mah+ rechargeable batteries that go into your Xbox controller, with an average session time of 10-12 hours. You swap them out when they get low. How anybody can think this isn't vastly superior can only be explained away with Apple-tier brand loyalty.
