The state of JRPGs are so sad and pathetic. I'm not super experienced with them but I played a few hours of SMT3 which everyone says is one of the best ever and it was okay but I didn't feel like spending the time it wanted me to but regardless I played the demo for this digimon game and despite coming 20 years out later this game is hardly any different from SMT3. Besides the extra turn mechanic and digimon having a lot more QoL/convenience it's the SAME SHIT. What joy is there to be had here? Just really gross to me that there are people who spend dozens of hours on these garbage games for really vain reasons like making and growing your party of demons (or in this case "monsters"). Boring as shit while being severely bloated and something (in both games cases) where you will inevitably turn to a guide because the trail and error of learning the right paths to create the monster you want just wastes even more of your time. Seriously dog shit genre that hasn't evolved at all in 20+ years. E33 is no different but it adds the extremely bad "parry" gimmick which actually makes the game have even less strategy since parrying is overwhelmingly strong if you get good.

Higher stages give more XP and I'm fairly certain the higher stages have better stats growth, but I haven't done any actual testing on that. If your mon has any points in bond, that shows how many times you'll inherit a portion (10%, I believe) of the stats gained from levels whenever you evolve or devolve. So if you go up or down a stage after gaining some levels, you'll keep that portion, which means you'd ideally want to gain some more levels if you plan on going even higher or lower.I just got Megas unlocked, bros. My beloved Megaseadramon became Alphamon's sword, and I also have my pieces ready for Omegamon and Omegamon forma de negro ready now.
