I'm still booty blasted that it wasn't Godwyn the Golden.
prime radahn is kino and im tired of pretending otherwise
Everyone and their mothers saw the original promo art for SOTE that we had for a whole year before any gameplay, with graves backed by a decaying tree, and said “yeah it’s gonna be Godwyn”
>>722895997I would have cared to finish the DLC if it was.
>>722895997This whole DLC is so bad it retroactively ruined Elden Ring for me and I'm never buying another fromsoft game.
>>722895997Miquella wanted Godwyn to die as per the Golden Epitaph, why the fuck would he want to revive him and make him his consort? There's nothing in the base game about Miquella wanting to revive Godwyn>MUH CASTLE SOLSpirits are talking about bones of the soulless demigod five feet away from the castle, if you think this was talking about Godwyn then you failed the iq test
>>722896452Golden Epitah actually says he wants him to come back
>>722895997I don't particularly care for Godwynwhat irks me is the fact that it's """just""" Radahn again, like you can dress it up, make him a new model and do a billion mental gymnastics while justifying it through lore, that is still the same jackass I fought in midgame dressed up fancyWould've been a lot better if he were just "The Promised Consort" with full-body gold armor as a way of both dehumanizing and deifying him and they put a little more Mohg in there than one attack, the ending to the DLC was really weak overall honestly
I literally dont give a shit about the "lore" implications and neither should you All these games have shit "stories" even Sekiro
>>722896274This is me except I never even bothered to play the dlc, the leaks killed my interest
>i am forgotten
I only know the basic about Elden Ring lore, why did people expected it to be Goldwyn? Isn't that guy super death and his body ended up becoming a fish?
>>722896807Yeah he’s super death but all we saw of the new area in the DLC before it came out was that it was super death land.
>>722896591Not at all
I wish it was Balteus. Not because it would make sense but because I hate lorefags
>bUt gOdWyN iS MeAnT tO bE dEaD ThAts tHe PoInTdont care, he wouldve been a sick boss fight had they put effort into it, at least we got to fight a few of his knights which were cool i guess
>>722896943>Out of my sight, VERMIN!
>>722895997I would have been fine with it if they made Radahn look like a complete fucked up amalgamation of Mohg and him. Instead it's just Radahn with horns coming out of his gloves and one bloodflame attack.
>>722896943I wish it was Nineball Seraph from hit PS1 game Armored Core: Master of Arena
>>722895997I'm as disappointed in nuRadahn as the next guy, but expecting Godwyn was just as retarded if not more.
Messmer should've been the final boss and have Melina do something new in the main one.
>>722896754She's the GEQ's daughter, right?
>>722895997I'm happy the DLC exposed fraudahn as a femoby twink groomed weak ass simp, fitting after he was glazed nonstop on here and reddit before the dlc
I don't get the hate for the DLC. I thought it was the better, more focused version of the base game. I never found myself going to some annoying corner of the map for an item that turned out to be completely useless and not worth the effort. But I just don't love Elden Ring overall compared to the other games so maybe I had low hopes.
>>722897082This. The entire point of Godwyn is that he's dead. Not just dead, but super-dead. Ultra-dead. Permanently and irrevocably dead. I'm not saying that Consort Radahn is a great boss or anything from a narrative perspective, but I think it says something that everyone's prediction for the DLC was Godwyn. It would have been boring.
>>722897280>going to some annoying corner of the map for an item that turned out to be completely useless and not worth the effort. That were the finger ruins for me desu. Not that the accessoires were bad or anything and the set piece was pretty interesting
>>722897280>I never found myself going to some annoying corner of the map for an item that turned out to be completely useless and not worth the effort.the finger ruins you dipshit.
>>722897165She has nothing to do with the GEQ
>>722896452If the Castle Sol ritual worked, Miquella would obviously use it on Godwyn to cure the Death Blight. Now, he still has no reason to pick Godwyn as his consort, and the idea that the gate ritual could revive souls is entirely a mistranslation in Freyja's English dialogue.
>>722897842>If the Castle Sol ritual worked, Miquella would obviously use it on GodwynNo, Ensha actually>to cure the Death Blight. Death Blight is not even remotely related to Miquella
>>722897887Ensha is just one of many rulers of minor kingdoms that the Golden Order conquered, he has no relevance to Miquella. Heck, Ensha's remains literally might not have even been in the Lands Between at the time, considering that the mercenary wearing them works for Gideon Ofnir. As for the Death Blight, Miquella wanted to cure it to help the land. Golden Epitaph was meant to kill Godwyn's body to try curing the Death Blight (hence the weapon being strong against skeletons), and a full revival of the soul would also potentially telefrag the Death Blight away.
>>722895997It's definitely the worst dlc they've done. At least the fights are entertaining.
>>722897280Elden Ring "discourse" is irredeemable due to the tripartite influence of>retarded normalfags>retarded contrarians>trolls fanning the flames of retardationShadow of the Erdtree has many flaws. It lacks a coherent, unified narrative, instead being divided into two misaligned halves; The Old Hunters had a similar structure, but its two halves (the sins of the Healing Church and the original sin of the first Hunters) complemented each other. Messmer and Miquella feel like they have nothing to do with each other. It feels like a coincidence that you need to kill Messmer to progress Miquella's plot. And while I appreciate what they were going for with the "high concept" open world areas, half of them are failures.>Ruins of Rauh is an open world dungeon, and it's cool>Jagged Peak is an open world boss rush, and it's cool despite the bosses being reused>Finger Ruins feels like it's designed to be a big, atmospheric, DLC-spanning sidequest, but the ruins themselves are empty>Forbidden Woods is a cool concept that is actively ruined by being open worldBut you are correct that the actual design of SotE's open world is much more refined than base Elden Ring. With a few exceptions like the fragments in Forbidden Woods and Cerulean Cove, every meaningful location and reward in the open world is designed in ways that more organically draw the player into them and make it clear when they've found what they're supposed to find, which is something I can't say for base Elden Ring. There's way fewer nooks and crannies that needed to be arbitrarily filled with Arteria Leaves. SotE's map is just much easier and less obnoxious to navigate thanks to this.
>>722898161Rauh had reused enemies out the ass which brought down its coolness significantly. Jagged Peak is linear, but not interesting linear like any other linear area in a Souls game. It's a waste of a wonderful mood and buildup. Otherwise you're correct.
>>722897990>Ensha is just one of many rulers of minor kingdoms that the Golden Order conquered, he has no relevance to Miquella. No, Ensha was Lord of the Sun Realm, and his remains are brought by the Banished Knights in Castle Sol because Miquella wishes to use his soulless remains as vessel for Radahn>Heck, Ensha's remains literally might not have even been in the Lands Between at the time, considering that the mercenary wearing them works for Gideon Ofnir. No the Nightfolk that wears them is secretly working for Miquella, protects the Haligtree and is related to the stray mimic tears found in the hidden path to the Haligtree>As for the Death Blight, Miquella wanted to cure it to help the land. Headcanon bullshit>Golden Epitaph was meant to kill Godwyn's body to try curing the Death Blight (hence the weapon being strong against skeletons), and a full revival of the soul would also potentially telefrag the Death Blight away.No. Miquella wanted yo kill Radahn because only one Lord of those Lost in Death can exist. In the same way the Black Knives tried to kill Godwyn to have him reborn as Lord of Night with Ranni, Miquella tried to do the same with Radahn, except Miquella requires an Eclipse to dim the light of the Erdtree, in order for the candletrees he planted to beckon souls to his own Haligtree. This is why plan B involves going to Lands outside the light of Marika's grace, to the original Lampwood of Helphen
>>722898161>Shadow of the Erdtree has many flaws. It doesn't>It lacks a coherent, unified narrative, instead being divided into two misaligned halves; It doesn't>Messmer and Miquella feel like they have nothing to do with each other. It feels like a coincidence that you need to kill Messmer to progress Miquella's plot. No, it's very deliberate that you have to kill the gatekeeper of shadow to burn it down. Messmer represents the sins Marika tried to bury and Miquella wants to unearth and erase. He is a target for the karmic wraiths and condemnations spawned from the Realm of Shadow
>>722898431I'm interested in the things you've said here. Why doesn't Godwyn come back to life but Ranni does?
>>722898743Godwyn isn't meant to be revived, he was supposed to die and be reborn because that's how ascension to divinity actually works. His spirit lingers in his bodyThis is also Marika's Fundamentalism true purpose and why Fundamentalism studied the divergence and convergence from and to divinity through manipulation of light and runes. Every Goddess in game has to die and be rebornGodwyn, thanks to Fia, comes back to life at the end of his questline to generate a mending rune, which is a form of sacrifice condensing your own spirit into runes, a form of regression into the life force that oroginally generated said spirit. This process is also seen with soulless demigods having bodies hold spirits that can be used to duplicate Remembrances. In the case of Godwyn, the generated rune takes form of the two hallowbrands of Death.Ranni has no interest in divinity, and doublecrosses both the Black Knives and her Fingers and Finger Maiden, trasfering her soul to a new puppet body after making sure only her body died. This is a process the Nox used with puppets and is a form of asceticism, which is also seen as empty bodies left by soul and spirit in many instances. Ranni's body is never restored
Flame of Frenzy is the only good ending because of the DLC
>MUH HECKIN LORE SAYSThey asspulled some dumb ass divinity gate nobody heard of to bring Radhan back. As if one line of text wouldn't also justify Godwyn as well. Retards.
Still surprises me that people don't get that Radagon is Godwyn's corpse. The DLC was trying to hint that vessels exist in ER, and Radagon is one of them.
>>722896452It's not about the dogshit lore. It's just super lame to recycle Radahn when there's more interesting directions it could have gone. Fighiting the renewed Godwyn and having him shift into prince of death would have been sick. Death would have fit the whole shadowlands vibe more too.
>>722899629>the lore doesn't matter!!>I JUST WANT WHAT I FUCKING WANT!!!Aiming right for your own foot there
>>722898431We don't know what domain Ensha ruled, but even the Sun Realm wasn't very significant in Elden Ring's overall history. We have no reason to believe that Banished Knights brought his remains to Castle Sol, it's more likely that the spirit is talking about the murdered demi-god in the Wandering Mausoleum right next to Castle Sol. Plus, if the mercenary working for Gideon Ofnir got Ensha's bones from Castle Sol, why wouldn't he also just get the half of the Haligtree Medallion from Castle Sol? He'd know all about the place and how to get there, so there's no reason why he'd be sitting around and at most just focusing on the Village of the Albinaurics. It's not a Nightfolk wearing the armor, removing the helm with mods shows that the person is green. Murdering all of the Albinaurics trying to seek refuge at the Haligtree, one of the Haligtree's major reasons for existing, does not protect the Haligtree or Miquella's goals at all. You're spouting nonsense. As for the Death Blight, the whole reason to cure Godwyn isn't just for his sake, but to stop the mega-plague that Ranni created from ruining the world. Miquella is no stranger to the Death Blight, he has five revenants at Elphael. The Black Knife Assassins weren't trying to create a lord for Ranni, they were killing as many demi-gods as possible and coordinated killing one at the same time Ranni knifed herself to fulfill Ranni's plan to keep her soul alive and attach it to a pre-made marionette body. There's no metaphysical system or rule for a leader of the undead, and certain item descriptions imply that the undead have no one to lead them in the first place, so your theory makes no sense because there was already a "vacancy." An eclipse only involves the sun, it does nothing to the Erdtree, and the Helphen isn't even a lampwood. The shield you attached as your image isn't even related to the candletrees or the Helphen. Quit spouting baseless shit, go do something else.
>>722899754>is that some recycled content that costs money>yum yum yum yum yum yum
>>722899670Least observant lorefag. Radagon has been around since before Godwyn was born. He's in the dlc story trailer.
>>722899894If you're retarded and follow lore at face value sure. Go look at which churches in-game have a statue of Radagon instead of Marika.
>>722899670Dafaq? Radagon is Marika with a dick everyone knows that.
>>722899965Radagon is in the dlc story trailer. End of discussion.
>>722899470The hornsent ritual says that only the lord needs their soul placed in a vessel, the god doesn't need to do any of that. The lord doesn't become a god either. Fia doesn't revive Godwyn, she tries to use his body as medium to basically weld the two cursemarks together and alter them to become a Mending Rune. Ranni does need to become a god: Before the DLC, and Empyrean claiming the Elden Ring apparently turned them into a god. In light of the DLC, and Empyrean apparently has to become a god first before they can wield the Elden Ring. Ranni also never had a Finger Maiden, those are assigned to Tarnished, not demi-gods. The Nox don't do soul transfers with puppets, you're mixing that up with ancient astrologers and Raya Lucaria mages putting their souls in Primal Glintstones then having those Primal Glintstones inserted into other people's bodies.
>>722900007>>722900040No, "Marika is Radagon" is the implication that Marika infested the corpse of her own son to maintain access to the Erdtree. Theres a reason why Goldmask and Corhyn heard this and didn't understand the blasphemy. "Sword wrought from the remains of a god who should have lived a life eternal. Thoughts on what the weapon portends are many and varied. Some consider it the mark of a great sin, or a sign of great devastation. Some think of it as the end of an age, while others; the beginning."Elden Ring is a scifi setting, the tree needs a genetic codifier to access it. Its why Godrick and Morgott are experimenting on Tarnished and their creatures are referred to as scions (a plant concept) and grafting (another). If you have experience with anthropology like the book "The Kings Two Bodies" you would understand that Elden Ring is about the body politic.
>>722900180Godwyn was killed by Ranni's plot. Ranni is Radagon and Rennala's child. How do you explain your godwyn-corpse puppet making babies with Rennala before godwyn is killed? stupid ass retard.
>>722900180Radagon existed as his own person and was having his own children ages before Godwyn was murdered. We can even find Godwyn's body, warped into something monstrous, at the Deeproot Depths, while Radagon has been partially reassimilated into Marika at the Stone Platform. Please just go do something actually healthy instead of making fake Elden Ring lore like that "12 differently-colored meteorites" nonsense.
>>722900350time is convoluted
>>722900180"In most cases, the stock or rootstock is selected for its roots and the scion is selected for its stems, leaves, flowers, or fruits.[1] The scion contains the desired genes to be duplicated in future production by the grafted plant. "
>>722900180>[The King's] Body politic is a Body that cannot be seen or handled, consisting of Policy and Government, and constituted for the Direction of the People, and the management of the public weal, and this Body is utterly void of Infancy, and old Age, and other natural Defects and Imbecilities, which the Body natural is subject to, and for this Cause, what the King does in his Body politic, cannot be invalidated or frustrated by any Disability in his natural Body. And what does this have to do with Elden Ring beyond your retarded schizo headcanon
>>722897280the good parts are better, but also half the map is blatantly unfinished and radahn is a disappointing final boss
don't mind me just dropping off the humiliation screencap
>>722900350No, the black knives are stated to be numen to indicate they are Marika's kin. The whole twist you're meant to figure out is that Marika organised the hit on her own son and the following grief is what is referred to as "The Shattering". Godwyn essentially rediscovered methods of power that didn't need the Erdtree so he had to be taken out asap because Marika didn't want a second age of the crucible. It's about parental responsibility, even if it means killing your own child. Also Ranni is a lying cunt puppet with the likeness of somebody else entirely. Shes more than likely part of the Alien faction and is SayaNoUtaing you into a Gaol or worse.
Idk why retards spend hours in poorly written schlock like this game's lore that doesn't respect your time. These games are already frustrating enough to slog through. TLOU respects your time more by having coherent shit at least.
>>722899792>goal posts movedSorry you destroyed your own argument, retard
>>722899758We know what Ensha ruled. It's the Sun Realm, which was a majestic Empire extending from Rauh to Stormveil and responsible. Not only the same architecture of Castle Sol is exclusively in Farum Azula, but Stormveil is a city crowned by the Sun, with a Sun Gate because the Sun worship was fundamental to said culture and key to the religion. Both the Fell God and the Avatar of the Crossed Tree are themselves depiction of Sun and Sunflower, before that changed with the Crossed Tree of Helphen getting deprived of Order and becoming the Scadutree and Messmer forces consequentially swapping the heretical depiction of the Fell God, whose flame is literally a Sun, from the face with the sub rays to the face with hornsEnsha is a Nightfolk with the skin and appearance of a Nightfolk and the body of a woman (to highlight his sexless nature and him being a being dressing someone's else bones). He protects the Haligtree and attacks the player attempting to access it, otherwise ignoring him and leaving Gideon alone. The Black Knife assassins were trying to create a Lord of Night. Godwyn is placed in the same position as Marika, to collect the boons of sacrificial amber and be reborn, and in the Eternal City that fell to the Eternal Darkness that brought devastation to the Eternal Dynasties. There's no evidence they had any other political goal or reason to geopardize the Golden Lineage, which achieves nothing because the Shattering is entirely unrelated to either and self inflicted by Marika for that same purpose of Divine Ascension as any other Goddess in game, killing herself with Death and merging into divine through the sacrifices of countless, which in turn allows her to become an actual Goddess and use Law of Regression on the Elden Ring, turning it into its original primordial form
>>722900626This nigger actually bought Nightreign
>>722900416The book is structured around an exploration of the numerous devices and technologies medieval theologians and lawyers developed to "defeat death" and "extend bodily existence far beyond carnal boundaries"
>>722900549No evidence and you still didn't explain how Godwyn's assassination/Shattering happened BEFORE Radagon pumped Rennala full of cum.
>>722900712Doesn't need to be explained, it's plain bullshit you're fed so it makes it harder to figure out the real mystery.
>>722895997godwyn is the deadest man possible in universeressurecting him would completely break lore

That's fascinating. By then why send Godfrey away instead of tricking him to become part of the Erdtree for greater strength? Backup plan like what most people say; insurance against Radagon?
>>722900881NTA but I assume that Godfrey was never actually sent away, but left of his own accord aware that the Tarnished needed to recuperate and return to the Lands Between to stop what was going on. Godfrey comes across as far more collected and moral than others, which I think is to imply that he's more aware of whats going on than he lets on.

>>722895997I don't give a shit that it wasn't Godwyn. I'm mad about Radahn being reused in such a blatant, ugly, unsatisfying fashion with a moveset partially stolen from Pontiff and core phase 2 idea being downgraded gay princes from DS3.

>>722901862>Finger Maidens of Ranni Two Fingers tell you the assassination of Godwyn was meant to happenWhere do you meet this character? I've done 5 runs of Elden Ring and never found a living Finger Maiden.
>>722901918That's exactly why I replied to someone mocking the lore while begging for a Godwyn fight yes, because Godwyn isnt a fucking character outside 1 graphic, 3 or so sentences of spoken dialogue, and a handful of item descriptions like most "figures" in Souls "stories"
>>722897887>No, Ensha actuallyIt's not Godwyn, and it's not Ensha. It's the damn soulless demigod in the walking mausoleum outside Castle Sol. That's why it's there. All the soulless demigods are unwanted children of Marika who were written out of history for some reason or another, and Miquella was characterized as caring for the meek and discarded, like the Albinaurics. He's the only one that tried to save them, but ultimately failed and moved on to other projects.

My understanding was that Marika removed Death from the Elden Ring, and yes, blood fuels the Gate of Divinity, blood fuels the Haligtree, and the Erdtree. But with Death gone, the Erdtree was no longer producing sap, hence no more Erdtree blessings. The Age of Plenty was a direct result of Godfrey waging war for Marika. With Death sealed, and as the dlc shows us, death instead went to the Shadow Lands. That's why the Scadutree is overflowing with sap. What I'm driving at is there seems to be a looong interim between removing Death, Godfrey being sent away, and the Shattering, where no more bodies were fueling the Erdtree like the Gate of Divinity. Why did Marika wait so long to try ascending?

>>722902181>With Death sealed, and as the dlc shows us, death instead went to the Shadow Lands. That's why the Scadutree is overflowing with sap. You got it backwardsDeath used to go towards the Realm of Shadow, where it would then condense into spirit graves that form larval tears. Those Larval Tears could be imbued with amber from the Rune of the Unborn (that Marika stole) and generate newborns. The Nox desperately try to imitate this process with silver larval tears. The Erdtree stop producing sap because Marika is not a true goddess.>Why did Marika wait so long to try ascending?Because the whole lives of Marika and Radagon (who Marika created with the Rune of the Unborn) are spent expanding the reach of the Erdtree across all of the Lands Between and learning incantations and sorcery in preparation for their true ascension into divinity. Fundamentalism is all about communion of two beings into one, and Radagon, represents the creation of the Crucible and is associated to the Crucible exactly for his origin with Primordial Amber

How does the Erdtree know to stop producing sap? And if sap isn't a blessing produced by Godfrey waging war, then what is sap if Erdtree rebirth is a product of the Rune of the Unborn and larval tears? Why does the Scadutree overflow with sap? I'm peppering you with questions because I've never seen this idea but it makes sense. Erdtree rebirth must have stopped because Radagon gave the amber egg and Unborn Rune to Rennala. Rennala can't fully utilize the amber egg because she doesn't understand it, unlike Marika/Radagon. The Nox saw Erdtree rebirth and tried to make their own lord with silver because they have their own prophecy of a Night Lord. All of this feels in keeping. But how does Radagon represent the Crucible? Is he not a descendant Fire Giant? He's very tall, he's described as having great strength, and Messmer bears a flame. Unless the Crucible is a result of the Giants and Titans of yore, the ones who inhabited Rauh, but even then those aren't Fire Giants either. It's a shame I have to sleep. I hope to read your reply later. I'll no doubt have more questions. Oh well.

And again, there's no body on that altar. You keep repeating something that's factually wrong. Would you like visual proof there's nothing there?>Nope, Walking Mausoleums hold bodies created to be sacrifices even before Marika.No. We're directly told the soulless demigods are Marika's unwanted children. That's indisputable. Additionally, we see three other examples of outcast demigods: Godefroy, Messmer, and Melina. Godefroy was the first to practice grafting, but was deemed a traitor and expunged from history. Messmer was thrown to the Land of Shadow despite not wanting to be there, because Marika thought his curse was abhorrent. And Melina is practically a ghost, she has a transient physical form. Additionally, the Regal Omen Bairn says that "omen babies born of royalty do not have their horns excised, but instead are kept underground." Guess what we find in the sewers? More of Marika's unwanted children. There is only one royal family in Leyndell.>Noklateo (the original Eternal City) in Nightreign has the first Mausoleums, and the practice was first in the Realm of Shadow.Nightreign is not canon and was stated so repeatedly by Fromsoftware. Also, the Grand Cloister is the first Eternal City, sunk into the bowels of the earth by an Astel.>He's references in the Church of the EclipseYou keep making this claim and it's simply not true.
>>722895997Relax. He is the next DLC.
>>722898161Rauh is not cool. The outdoors part looks nice (but gameplay wise it's just as empty as the rest of the DLC), but the indoors maze is dull and repetitive, there are no environmental mechanics, no NPCs, no new enemies or even interesting enemy formations with the ones you've seen before. There's nothing to find until the midpoint, and of the two bosses in the entire area one is a repeat. There are some token miniboss tier enemies littered in Rauh but you can run past them and only Devonia and the bird have loot maybe worth fighting for. As a video game sequence it's fucking shite.
>>722903639>but why or how would the Erdtree know Marika isn't a true goddess? The Goddess is a being able to control Death and Life through her getting hold of the Elden Ring. This kind of affinity for control of life is seen through various form of Death/Life priestesses. Romina, Fia, Kindling Maidens and so on. Marika was one of those, as part of the shaman tribe. She can take Death and create Life, but she is no true Goddess able to control the Erdtree The Age of Plenty being defined as very short lived and Marika's immediate quest for conquest really shows she instantly devised the Golden Order to be a transitory plan to complete her ascendency. The creation of the Erdtree produced its boons, and when the Shattering happened the Minor Erdtrees also produced grace that condensed into Crystal Tear. Likewise when Malenia blooms she generates offspring. Those beings are all within the potential to control and generate some amount of life. Divinity likely lies in the ability to draw that power directly from the Elden Ring, a power which Marika could not control>And if sap isn't a blessing produced by Godfrey waging war, then what is sap if Erdtree rebirth is a product of the Rune of the Unborn and larval tears? Why does the Scadutree overflow with sap? The sap is in itself a necessary component of birthing. The Scadutree still overflows with sap because it does not bear the concept of Order, causing it to crumble and become brittle. That's why its blessing spread in the same way Crimson Seeds spread through the Shattering. (So when the actual Order was shattered).>But how does Radagon represent the Crucible? Is he not a descendant Fire Giant? It's much more likely that both the Fire Giants and Radagon are descendants of the Primordial Crucible, which in itself is an offspring of Primordial Giants from which the Mother of all Crucibles sprouted (the Lands Between)
>>722902782Isn't the regular interpretation already that? Just that instead of focusing massive lifeforce/Runes into a single being like the Gate of Divinity, the Erdtree is a conduit for collecting Runes and redistributing it as Grace.
>>722904181Here, you know what? I'm not gonna wait. This is the altar in the Church of the Eclipse in Castle Sol. As everyone can see, there's nothing on it. The corpse in front is what yields the Eclipse Shotel.
>>722900642Farum Azula shares architecture with several places, most notably Leyndell with beast-head pillar tops at the Erdtree Sanctuary, similar pillar tops at Marika's Bedchamber, and the 16-petal chyrsanthemum all over the Erdtree Sanctuary and the Elden Throne platform. Castle Sol only has one symbol in common with Farum Azula, and it's on the floor in Niall's boss room. The Sun Realm was localized to Altus, that's why the soldiers from it are considered exiles in Limgrave and Caelid, and Stormveil was only built after Marika conquered Altus, hence the paintings in Stormveil itself of the Stormhill with nothing on it. Stormveil is constantly wrapped in storms, it's not "crowned by the sun", and the Sun Realm was likely a poser civilization trying to emulate Farum Azula and Enir-Ilim without understanding the finer mechanisms of the incantations/sorceries to those places. There's not even a single spell attributed to the civilization in the modern day.The Fell God's eye is designed after the storms on the southern pole of Jupiter, AKA a planet, not the sun. the crossed tree is literally just a crossed tree, that doesn't look like a sunflower or the Scadutree whatsoever. The Helphen isn't a crossed tree, it's a black tree with some kind of chapel on it, per the design of the Helphen's Steeple sword, and that's if the Helphen is even a tree at all.Nightfolk are silver, not green, and you're confusing the mercenary Gideon calls Ensha with the actual Ensha, whose bones are worn on the mercenary's armor. If the mercenary was loyal to the Haligtree, he'd not do a dang thing for Gideon and would instead have helped the Albinaurics get to Elphael rather than murdering them. The Nox want a Lord of Night, but seek to make one with their Silver/Mimic Tear experiments, not murdering a demi-god's body, soul, or both. Godwyn isn't collecting jack, the assassins' motive was hating Marika and being paid, and Marika is ALREADY A GOD.
Godwyn was one issue, but even aside from that the things that bothered me the most were >No branching paths/choices, including joining Miquella, no multiple SOTE endings etc>No other lore elements or things that really change or expand the understanding. No Melina etcand perhaps most of all >No effect at all on the mainline game or its endingsThe entire thing happens in a pocket universe basically and when you finish it, you can just go back and finish the main game with no changes at all. Nothing that happened there affected anything else and that seems a waste. There should have been new variations, encounters, quests, endings etc based on what you did in SOTE , rather than just being a completely independent sideline

Ranni, who becomes a god to wield the Elden Ring, has a separate person, the Tarnished, as her Lord of Night. Miquella, a god, has his clusterfuck of part of Radahn's soul in Mohg's transmutated body as his lord. The god and lord are different beings. It's only the case of Marika and Radagon where there's overlap, and that's only because Marika created Radagon from herself, a la Miquella and St. Trina.Godwyn isn't protecting Fia, that's Fia casting a spell and trying to deceive you just like she tricked you earlier. The attacks stop if Fia is killed, and there's certainly no remnant of Godwyn's spirit interacting with Fortissax. The Elden Ring is mended in Ranni's ending, she claims the thing from Marika and Marika dissolves away. Ranni begins her own order, which she earlier talked about in the Miniature Ranni conversation at the Site of Grace atop Ranni's Rise. The Elden Ring and godhood are needed to bring about an age, and if Ranni just destroyed the Elden Ring she'd be fucking over the world even harder than she already does by not fixing any of the major problems she caused and leaving the world wide open for the Formless Mother, Scarlet Rot outer god, and Frenzied Flame.Godwyn's Wetnurse doesn't serve Ranni's Two Fingers, the various Two Fingers had different Finger Readers who served them. the Finger Readers for Ranni's Two Fingers are probably the Finger Readers we can find in Liurnia, not all the way over in Deeproot. The Nox don't do soul transfers into puppets, you only quoted a description about how two Nox chose to afflict themselves with Starlight Shards potions and became enslaved. >>722906797>Everything confirms that Marika is a godIt doesn't though>Even Miquella becoming a god confirms that Marika is a god, because Miquella uses the exact some process that Marika does. No, Miquella uses the same process Marika does at the end of the game, reborn as merged with Radagon, and she states that Godhood is not yet achieved because they are not oneMarika is a usurper who is not an actual Goddess and that didn't sacrifice anything to achieve Godhood, so nothing like Miquella or all the other Goddesses in game that have to die and be reborn to achieve Godhood
>>722906929Everything does confirm that Marika is a god, even the promotional materials for the DLC, which confirm that Marika became a god in the Land of Shadow. Marika doesn't rebirth herself with Radagon, she has already been a god for ages by that point. Marika at once point insults Radagon for not being a god, because he hasn't reassimilated into her enough yet, but that doesn't mean that Marika herself wasn't a god. Marika got burned by whatever ritual the hornsent have in the Cleansing Chamber, the same as Miquella, and then subjected to whatever the Gate of Divinity does. Marika did the same process, she isn't some usurper compared to Miquella. No Empyrean has to die to become a god. Ranni was misled into thinking she had to shed her physical body because her Two Fingers could hijack control of her through it, and Ansbach apparently killed Miquella, forcing Miquella to go about his plan as a spirit.

What people don't discuss nearly as much as they should is how crappy and half-baked the DLC weapons are.Sure, light greatswords, odachi and backhand blades are cool. Euphoria is fun. Bone Bow is broken. Claws of Night are top tier. But that's basically it.The rest of new weapon classes are fucking awful. Martial art weapons are insanely boring, how did they produce something so bland after the motherfucking Bone Fist? Beast Claws are all sorts of fucked and clearly barely tested, among other things their feint attack can clip into the ground and bounce off it, causing the feint to fail, otherwise they are just crappier claws with none of what makes claws good. Perfume bottles are possibly the worst weapon type in the game, especially after they nerfed rolling spark into the ground.Smithscript weapons are even funnier. Their main gimmick is barely functional since the damage falloff makes them barely usable as anything but point blank weaponry. And by the gods, the vast majority of additions to the existing classes are dull. All DLC boss weapons in particular are insanely boring and samey, they make even DS3 boss weapons look like a pinnacle of game design. There's nothing as cool as Ledo's or Frayed Blade. Genuinely never saw anyone even using new radahn swords because of how garbage they are.

>>722896452>why the fuck would he want to revive himBecause Godwyn's deathless body is causing deathblight to spread everywhere. I swear to god no one even addresses this at all.
>>722897280I hate it because of how constrained it is and that it's somewhat separate from the basegame.
>>722912649>Frenzy doesn't get addressed>Omen curse doesn't get addressed>Deathblight doesn't get addressed>Dragon cult doesn't get addressed>Dark Moon doesn't get addressedWhat the fuck does becoming Elden Lord even do?
>>722912649deathblight is an older malady than godwyn's death and transmogrification. as we see with basilisks present in the lake of rot and statues of them in the catacomb in the shadow lands. his body became a vessel for the outer god that rules deathblight because of the unique circumstances of his death. his throne is the same as caelid or mohgwyn dynasty. places that are being transformed by an outer god. the only reason the outer gods are creeping into tlb is because the elden ring is shattered and this problem is solved with the burning of the erdtree and establishment of a new order.
>>722913056Farum Azula's situation indicates that Death Blight wasn't invented by Ranni's plan, but the Night of the Black Knives did cause the current outbreak of it. The basilisks at the Lake of Rot are probably there because of afflicted Erdtree roots, much like why there's a Putrid Tree Spirit at the Lake of Rot too. The statues in the Land of Shadow were probably created after the Night of the Black Knives, considering that some of Godwyn's golden knights traveled to the Land of Shadow and two new catacombs Imps seem to have been made in reference to Godwyn. As for outer gods, the Scarlet Rot and Frenzied Flame had notable presences even before the Elden Ring was shattered, so mending the Elden Ring won't resolve those matters entirely.
