Are there any weapons you wish had more representation in games as an option? Why is always a sword? Or worse, you get the option of a different weapon but the moveset is basically just the same as a sword.

>>722936664white people will say shit like theres not enough halberd representation in video games and then bitch when black folks ask for representation in any media
>>722936664>be fromsoft>try to include as many medieval weapons from across multiple cultures, no matter how odd and obscure, into your games>nearly all of them have some stupid moveset where regardless of weapon type, you just slam the weapon into the fucking groundpoints for trying i suppose

Halberds are still more common in games than other polearms

The greatest melee weapon there ever was.

>>722937764Chivalry 1 did flails really well.
>>722937630>>722936664>hammer spear and axe and long range in one weaponVideogames need to be balanced therefore they dont put them in the game or make them shit on purpose for balancing reasons.
>>722936664The knightly pollaxe specifically. Given that it was more or less the default primary foot weapon of armored knights at the height of plate armor, its very uncommon in games and media. Ultimately I think a lot comes down to mythological and fantasy representation which leans more towards the older simpler weapons like sword and spear. Excalibur and Gae Bulg aren’t billhooks.
>>722938028The “balance” is mostly that it’s two handed and thus you lose the protection of a shield. Relatedly, games overestimate two handed swords and axes.

I hate when you finally get a large blade and they just hold it in one hand anyways. Like come on bro that sword would be 250 lbs
video games dont do weapons well, end of story

>>722936664Other than Polearms what does this apply to though? Swords, axes, and spears are all fairly common.
