>use new oled monitor for 1 day

why do normies love oled so much?

I don't believe you. I've had my OLED monitor for 2 years and there's no burn in. I play games with lots of static UI elements too like the Dying Light games
>>
oled is basically flawless in phones for whatever reason but actual displays use some kind of crap 1st gen tech that instantly burns in
>>
make sure you come apologize when OLED finally makes it to your village, Rakesh

I get that burn-in isn't as common as these schizos would lead you to believe, but the fact remain it's still a real risk you're buying for an absurd price. Seriously a good 1440p monitor 165hz monitor is piss cheap these days at ~$200. A decent OLED monitor is the cost of a high end GPU.

That's your fault. We told you to buy LG C5.

Yeah what's with this? I've had my pixel 6 since it came out and it never has any burn in at all.

Wew, for a second I thought it was a portable console.

It's not even his image, he just grabbed it from Reddit.

It wasn't even normal burn-in either, it turned out to be a defect with that specific monitor apparently (ASUS has atrocious quality assurance, which I can personally attest to since I had an ASUS ROG monitor ages ago that died literally a week outside of its 2 year warranty and when I asked them about getting at least some leeway I was told to go fuck myself essentially and that getting it fixed would have cost nearly the price of just buying a new monitor anyway).

Even under the most stressful workloads and environments, and with all mitigations disabled, OLED monitors don't burn in like that for months, and just leaving most of the mitigations enabled along with setting the taskbar to auto-hide is generally enough to prevent any kind of noticeable burn in for at least 6-12 months (and even when you do start getting burn in it still gets nowhere NEAR as bad as the shit shown in that image).

Personally, I've owned an OLED monitor for about 3 months now so far (after putting it off for the longest time due to fears over longevity due to burn-in), and honestly after having used one I'd rather deal with potential minor burn-in after a year or so than IPS glow or VA black smearing, that's for sure. And yeah, I haven't noticed even the slightest hint of any burn-in yet on this screen (though I do use mitigations and only rarely use full brightness, if only because 1000 nits at all times is almost too bright for me, so I reserve it for HDR-compatible games). There IS a slight dirty-screen effect perhaps with darker shades due to being one of the cheapest OLED models around (so manufacturing tolerances are a bit wider than I'd like), but it still gives a vastly superior image to anything else I've used in the past.

Phones are probably the best use case for OLED - they usually don't show static images for extended periods of time, and black pixels actually turn off which saves battery.

Of course. Seems like every fucking thread is a reddit repost these days

no one on the internet can give me straight answers on whether or not OLED and HDR are memes or not
>>
>>723001886
OLED = Burnin and Fringe
HDR = not widely supported
FALD miniled for blacker black = often adds input lag

damn man so what should i buy
>>
Everytime I think of buying OLeL I remember my trip to sPain where they used OLeL for the arrival-departures tvs and you could barely read it due to burn in.
And my eyes are shit anyway.
