Over the last 3 days, I made an NPC model for my level. The level is "Mt. Energy" and it's a world with solar panels and wind mills and a Geothermal Energy plant, so, I decided to make the people who live in the level cartoony batteries.

I also entirely redid a huge chunk of my "Event Engine", just so I could use it to turn the character to make him face you and change animation while you talk to him. The event engine is WAY more robust and open, as it can call functions held within the NPC or Player, as opposed to only a couple specific scripts.

I'm still busy at the design-programmer part on how to go about simulating sex.

Easy mode: locations with object insertions just like Super Deepthroat did which only checks for how far to the left the cock is and how big the object is. No physics

Hardmode: simulate epithelial cells which bump into each other(still easy) and stretch out(hard as shit) and simulate vibrations(also hard as shit) in order to indirectly touch the clitoris organ through these epithelial cells and the "g spot" g spot being such an opening or much fewer conglomerate of epithelial cells. Physics galore.

Don't even ask me what I'm supposed to do for the animations. AI generation seems to be the only answers for graphics and moans.

Hey guys!
I found a silly bug in my targeting system that was removing all but 1 enemy from the target array. I ended up reversing the loop that checks dead actors so it decrements the index starting from the highest number, and that solved that issue.
Now that I have the framework for most of the demo now I am working on the quest and exp managers. Quests will have bonus based on the approach taken and a new skills menu will be made soon so allocate skill points. This in turn adds combos to basic attacks, passive element bonuses, and more.

I am very clumsy when it comes to building a level so I made some extra building tools to speed up the process. webm rel shows autotexturing tool that will detect logic ground or passable platform and apply selected sprite.
Next is a similiar tool that will repeat a pattern of sprites, it shows floor tile and then a pattern of blank spaces and sewer grate.
Background is another layer that usually repeats through the whole level and I can now modify its look in real-time. It's still clumsy but it's still mch better than what I had before.
Added shadow texture that is applied automatically to any platform or ground with passable areas under it. It's very simple but make the game much more pleasant to the eye.
Lastly there's also an option to remove selected sprites. It can speed up cleaning layers and can be used for fast sprite-switching.

I found an open source scrabble solver and took their word list. It's about 300,000 words. I store it as a set on boot for fast lookups and compare anything the player tries to play to that set. The word list wasn't perfect, there were some words I had to add from testing, but it's worked pretty well so far

After that I'm going to have to find an animator of some kind, at least for an intro/credits, and get a new trailer set up. I've fully decided not to have voice acting due tot he technical and money costs involved.

I'm trying to keep everything under a certain budget, it shouldn't go overbudget at least. And my current main source of income has given me much more than what I need to finish the game a while ago.

The problem is many strings in the game for dialogue can be changed on a whim, so it would cause a couple of months to implement it. I might end up doing it if I could do it locally and it doesn't sound like ass.

Make a backup if you haven't and go to town. Destroy every item/enemy/etc you have and try to reimplement just few of them in a clean way, keeping in mind what you'd need for the particularly demanding variants.

Sure man! It is a little bit of work but it involves importing the meshes and cleaning them up such as selecting all outside faces and deleting all duplicate ones, and separating parts based on my leaderpose components such as the helmet gauntlets, etc. Ill use knife cuts to try and get the smoothest break between pieces, separate, dupe, then re join and merge by distance the original parts i edited with the extra piece still separate so i can cut say the forearms lower and set weight paint to match the small overlap on the gauntlets. The leggings are static and I just swap the materials for each set. This makes cutting the boots seamless as long as I get the leggings merged in the center and under each armor set.
Chest pieces i cut out all the inside and trim around the thigh armor pieces to make room for the leggings.
Normally I use A-pose figures as they tend to deform the least. I separate major parts, bind everything separately to a skeleton then set weight paints on everything in a specific group. So leggings dont get groups for a hand for example. This way the armor doesnt stretch weird. Then i combined all the larts that arent meant to be separated lioe the pauldrons and shoulders but this helps with animations.
Unreal has decent sculpt tools and I can see my edits in real-time on my actor so I know what I need to tweak, to help with clipping.

Code is 95% me 5% asking ludus/google for help on a roadblock. Like I figured out how to scroll up and down in my inventory and built checks to scroll all the way up or down without rollikg over the item index (causing a huge leap to the top). Ludus helped me stop scrolling when off the scroll box when scrolling through equipment slots by building child-parent references to the widgets in question.

Today it got me. A unique game idea, I'm quite sure you'd want to play.

3D environments, 2D sprites. Pic rel is what I'm currently working on, hand drawn sprite, textures are AI placeholders.

At first I used bone animation which is UTTER FUCKING BULLSHIT. Had to do multiple from-scratch rewrites of the animation system because how poorly my enigne handles this. In the end I assembled the sprites in godot and did the animations there, then use a script to render it to a traditional sprite sheet. Been at it for at least two months, but I had to take frequent breaks to maintain my sanity.

Right now I'm working on the last few frames of walking(looks ok for 1 step, horrendous when it loops). I've decied combat will be mostly stills and particle effects. You need a lot of frames for fluid sprite animation and I'm already looking at 2MB per sprite sheet.

I'm learning about and toying with compute shaders.

Not sure how I will handle the part where you send the objects' position to the actual rendering part of the GPU.
Doesn't like there is a convenient "you already have all the matrices in buffer #69420" system, but doing a round trip between extracting the positions then re-sending them to the GPU via the usual rendering APIs seems like a giant fucking inefficiency.

so far, inventory is done, basic character model and character controller with 6 out of 8 directions animated, basic target dummy enemy works

I am sure anon means creating one reference sheet from which you then pick each letter to create text. That can kinda work for retro style games where shitty graphics is part of the package, but for anything else you should use vectors.
Which puts you just one step away from actually making your own font, which is entirely doable with free programs like inkscape. On an RPG you likely want to learn how to make SVGs anyway because you will need icons for all sorts of things, from status effects to elements or item types.

You shouldn't make ladders that way. I'm assuming you're working in 3D.
The best way to make ladders is by creating two vector3 positions, one for start (ladderStartPos) and one for end (ladderEndPos).

When player enters the ladder, disable your locomotion state, them enable the ladder state.
When in ladder state, only allow the player to move up and down towards the two vector3 positions you made earlier
Movement is constrained so the player never leaves the ladder area automatically, moving up = player moves toward ladderEndPos and moving down = player moves toward ladderStartPos

For exiting the ladder, make another vector3 called ladderExitPos, make this vector3 offset from the ladderStartPos by some random amount you want. Check player's current position in the ladder state, if player's current pos is equal to or less than the ladderExitPos, make player auto-exit the ladder state by applying backwards velocity in their local Z.

Ignore the other guy saying to use raycasts, you don't need to be using that, and you don't need to use triggers. Using Vector3's to control your ladders is more modular and lets you create ladders faster than manually setting up triggers or raycasts.
The logic also works for both 2D and 3D games.

Ah the mistake you've made there is trying to make a 3d game in godot.

Theres a small youtuber I watch called fairfight who had to write his own animation framework using skeletonmodifier3d because Godot's 3d animation tools are complete ass. If you can understand the Russian accent it might be worth watching some of his videos to see how he went about getting OK 3d animation blending results.

But yeah if you've got the function call on every animation, you have to play all the animations to blend them, it's doing what it should do and calling the function. You could have some debouncing checks in the function itself to see when the last time the function was called and return early without playing a sound if the time since the last call is less than 0.2 seconds or something

In a time far from our own and atop the sea that floods the world, there was Frydar Island. This land is inhabited by a variety of talking animals and fairy tale creatures, with the masters being the Dragons. You play as Joseph Fygoon, most supreme of the Dragons and ruler of Frydar Island. Because he ascended to the throne at the age of ten, Fygoon was never formally trained for his duties in court outside of what his mentor, Minister Shen, knows. I assume you are calling play() from an AudioStreamPlayer. According to the docs (https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/classes/class_audiostreamplayer.html#class-audiostreamplayer-method-play) calling "play(from_position: float = 0.0)" plays a sound from the beginning by default. And since you are playing all 3 animations with this function, it makes sense that it is called 3 times.

What you want to do is make sure it doesn't reset while already playing. Make your own function in your player's script that only plays the sound once it has ended, and call that instead of the default "play()"

That current webm is much harder than the previous webm because of all the double taps and the section from 0:25 - 0:41
The previous webm looked like something I'd see in Rhythm Heaven but that current webm looks more like Guitar Hero for sure

Your difficulty design is all over the place if you want that current webm to be the first level, that kind of design is for when the player is expected to be familar with the game already since you want them to deal with extended chains, unless you're specifically designing the game for people who have already played tons of hours in Guitar Hero and not the generic player who might not have much experience in rhythm games or only plays casual ones like Rhythm Heaven

That current webm is more late early game, for when you want to ease the player into the midgame songs that will be more difficult

If you want to keep the current bpm, then you'd want to space out the notes more so it's more easily readable. People who have played lots of rhythm games won't find that section hard at all and will likely not miss a note, but casuals that play things like Rhythm Heaven or barely touch rhythm games will lose a lot of hp there.

You should look at how popular rhythm games (actual ones, not casual ones like Rhythm Heaven) introduce the player to the game like DDR, Beatmania, and Guitar Hero 1 specifically because those devs had to get the first game right in order for GH to be successful

Like look at how GH1 introduces the player to the game even if they choose Expert difficulty. Even if it's the player's first time playing a rhythm game the first song is infinitely simpler than any of your two webms
Notes are spaced very well, none of them overlap, the double taps are spaced out so you can clearly see the gap between them which makes them easier to comprehend for someone that's never touched a rhythm game in their life or has garbage rhythm in general

Sections where you hold the notes are simple as the player isn't asked to press other notes while holding the main ones etc
Just make the first level be very simple, you're introducing the basic way to play the game.

I added more variation for the enemies in the first stage, currently working on making a mini boss. Made more optimizations to the code to handle more enemies with the gravity system and I changed the particles effects: before they used the default particle system of Unity and now I am using the VFX graph effects.

Yes she does, but it only happen when her health (red number) goes down, when she enters in holy time she regenerates health, so if the player is not making combos, she cannot regenerate health and probably lose.
