Why is PC gaming so shit?I bought a used and old PC but with good hardware.>AMD Radeon R7 200 series 2GB>Intel Xeon X-5450 3GHz>16 GB of Ram But almost everything runs like shit.>Cod2 has bad frame rates, unless I tinker in the setting, then the frame rate becomes mostly decent until the end of the levelMy system requirements are more than good. >Fallout 4 always has bad framerate, and it took me a lot of tinkering to make the screen fit the monitor but it looks stretched and ugly.I meet the minimum system requirements. >Outlast is mostly good but it could be better. Meanwhile I played VtMB and COD1 without any problems on a PC without a GPU.I spend as much time looking for fixes online and trying them as the time I spend gaming.Would installing Linux solve anything? Would my situation improve if I replace the CPU with an Intel Core i5-2400 3.1GHzAlso it constantly gets disconnected from the internet.
>>723292262>Intel Xeon X-5450 3GhzA Xeon CPU is for servers. It technically can play games just like a sportscar can technically go off-roading, just not as well as something designed for off-roading. You might be able to swamp it out with a different one. Ask the technology board if you need more specific help for that: >>>/g/
>>723292262Did you buy your PC off temu or something?
>>723292434Is to hard to change CPUs?
>>723293404No
try defragging.that beast should be able to handle even modern triple a
>>723292262>2007 server CPU>gen 1/2 GCN GPUi mean you might get better graphics support on linux if your card can do vulkan 1.2 (the R3/5/7 200 series have wildly different capabilities in that regard) but your hardware is really stretching what could be considered "good". newer games like fallout 4 are likely expecting certain x86 cpu extensions that just aren't available on your ancient xeon. also>ddr2 ram or ddr3?>hard drive or ssd?>what OS do you run now?
>>723293420As long as you look up its socket and have some common sense, no.
>>723293420your motherboard uses socket 771, which Intel stopped supporting back in 2008. your upgrade paths are limited. you would probably be better off picking up a cheap ryzen and an am4 motherboard with some ddr4 ram on the cheap if you're happy to run linux or windows 10. the "death" of windows 10 just happened so ddr4-based hardware will be shit cheap shortly
>>723294676>>ddr2 ram or ddr3?This I'm not sure but I think it's ddr3>>hard drive or ssd?Ssd>>what OS do you run now?Windows 10
these specs are for pre-doom3
>>723295428>win10there's your problem. this pc is ready for Windows vista
