I never played this one. I’ve always been a fan of Metroidvanias but never got around to it. Just played through the first few levels and holy hell this game fucking sucks. If I’d paid forty bucks for this when it came out I would have been pissed. What the FUCK were they thinking with this shit? It looks beautiful and the story seems pretty good, but holy shit this is just a glorified game of boss rush with a corridor outside the boss room. Does it ever get better or is this it?
The gameplay is good but the area design before the large area at the end is the weak point.

i didn't mind the areas too much even if there is a bit less exploration than the other games but what the hell were those sidequests? over half of em you just go back to an area and hope a chest has what you want, which is really stupid. the rest of the game was pretty solid though. the combat especially is a lot of fun, love me combos.

Are any of the DS games good? I played a few of the GBA games, they're not bad to be honest. But then I tried the dawn of sorrow sequal... YOU HAVE TO DOODLE THE SPELLS?? I couldn't do it. The GBA was pretty good. The OG is still GOAT.

okay so i thought his combat was kinda shitty at first but i was just fucking something up. he doesn't have combos it seems, or if he does they're pretty limited. but his basic pistol shot you can just hold the button down and he keeps firing. also with his shoryken you can move in the middle of it, although optical shot is probably better for hitting enemies in the air unless they're weak to fire. infact optical shot in general is a really good complementary move. anyway i'm onto the giant enemy crab, wish me luck gamers. all i hope it's not torpor spam again.

It's the best of the exploration Castlevania games for those who prefer action games. The "corridors" are better if you play the various higher difficulty modes, as you'll have to engage with the enemies on the way far more. Some of them might seem simplistic in design, but they're better than a lot of what the prior games had to offer. That is because games like SoTN or AoS aren't meant to be like action games in the first place, so in them, the enemies don't serve much of a purpose, but exploration is focused on far more.>>723335565Good luck, anon.
