I actually think it was a reasonable change to make. The Start button did literally the opposite, it paused. Menu buttons are ubiquitous in the modern age, represented by the 3 lines otherwise known as the burger/ menu icon. Pressing the button will open menu in-game (and may or may not pause the game, because you're in a menu, which is likely the primary reason you hit the button rather than wanting to pause). It also has functions outside of games where it would open menus rather than pause.Select also didn't make any sense.Yes I'll still possibly refer to the button as the Start button regardless.Why did they switch the X/O button functionality between regions? The Japanese one is correct, though it would have made more sense at least to maybe change the colors on the buttons around rather than reversing the functionality. It also aligned with the Nintendo standard layout.
