>>723439252More like beyond beef.
>>723439252>mfw no Red Hood game
More like Bed Bath & Batman Beyond
>>723439252wanna know the game rocksteady was making before suicide squad?
>>723439645It would have sucked if it was Batman Beyond. Beyond stopped being good after a certain point because Bruce Timm is the worst member of his team and ruined what made Terry distinct. Also, if it was written by the same guys behind City and Knight, the plot would have sucked ass.
>no Kevin Conroy for Old Bruce>Will Friedle won't do Terry again without Conroy>Mark Hamill won't do Joker again without ConroyBeyond's rogues weren't even that memorable, to the point most people will bring up the clown sluts even though they only existed in the movie
>>723439783>It would have sucked if it was Batman Beyondit was. it went as far as concept stage
>>723440026Yeah, I really do not think they would have done it justice.
>>723439783>Also, if it was written by the same guys behind City and Knight, the plot would have sucked ass. Both Asylum and City plots were written by Paul Dini while Knight and SS stories were made by Rocksteady writers. So yeah, almost certainly it would suck
>>723439942The only ones I remember were the cool green skeleton guy who just drowns in S1 and never comes back. The Cool Ninja with the sword that cuts anything, the gamer psychic nerd, and the ink blob lady who was basically just a more dull clayface.
>>723439590There's no where else to go with his story
>>723439512It was ahead of its time.
>>723439942Beyond's rogues are the gold standard for mantle passes. Marvel wishes they had even ONE original rogue as good as Inque or Shriek to go with nigga spider-man. Spellbinder, Mad Stan, Curare, Stalker, and the Royal Flush gang were also great. Honestly I wouldn't need or even want Hamill to do Joker for a Batman Beyond game. Return of the Joker is great but there's no need to revisit it in a game. Terry has plenty of his own rogues; enough that you could probably make one incredible game or two lighter ones.
>>723440649To be fair a lot of Terry's gallary is a mix of Spiderman's and Original cast
>>723440649>comparing Terry to Miles when he's basically MiguelAnon, please
>>723439942blight is memorable as fuck but he gets screwed up by the fact he's only in the first season, its a major recurring problem with beyonds rogues in that they're all one and done aside of shriek and inque
>>723439252>Batman Beyong
>>723440523More like they haven't even began to tell his story.
>>723440772I'll give you Stalker as a Kraven expy, Earth Mover as Sandman, and obviously Spellbinder is reminiscent of Mysterio. But the rest of his stuff is pretty unique. Shriek, Inque, Willie Watt (both appearances), Armory, Mad Stan, Curare, Blight, the star trek plagiarizer, the intangibility guy, and the guy with the suit that repels everything are all unique and not based on Bruce or Spider-Man's rogues.
>>723440313Asylum's plot was pretty alright for what was esentially a greatest hits boss rush. I think it got worse in City because bigger = better right? Nah, just about all the bosses were pretty bad. Now it was a boss rush with worse pacing.
>>723439942The DeeDees were also in Justice League. The villains of Beyond were fun but most of them wouldn’t work well in an Arkham game as they would involve more aerial combat. Best a game could do with Arkham combat would be Blight (obviously), Shriek, Big Time, Mad Stan, and maybe Inque and Spellbinder in some sort of puzzle fight (but that was already done before with Freeze). Others like the Royal Flush Gang, Willie Watt or Repeller would have to be too gimmicky to be a battle of skill.
>>723440840Terry is like miguel in that he's a version of a popular superhero in a futuristic setting. But he's more like miles as they're both young and upcoming supes mentored by older and more experienced heroes to "pass the torch". But terry has a distinct personality from bruce, lives in a very different gotham and has his own rogue's gallery. Whereas miles is just the same spiderman with the same villains in the same city except black. And mexican. And he sucks cock.
I remember in one of the cartoons of this era, some goon got the power to phase through stuff and at the end of the episode he loses control of his power and sinks forever into the middle of the Earth until he dies. Was that Batman Beyond or Static Shock?
>>723441441That’s Peek, season 2 of Batman Beyond.
>>723440171Considering they were going to make you play as Damian instead of Terry, yeah it would have sucked.
>>723440516>>723439942As memorable as Blight was, he's basically Dr. Phosphorus in all but name.>>723441441Yup, he was memorable too, but he also had the same problem of just being one-and-done.
>>723439252Wanting current era American retards to ruin Beyond with their faggotry and dogshit writing
>>723439783>Bruce TimmIt's executive meddling that fucked with Batman Beyond's third season. They wanted a lighter show so it got more high school drama.
>>723441680Look, even if they did fuck with it, it was still a good season regardless. However, Epilogue was fucking terrible and did serious harm to the premise of BB.
>>723441567>play as DamianWarner Bros never learn. People want Terry as Batman Beyond. They keep fucking this basic shit up
>>723439512https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_E-3kQxTtgM
>>723439783Batman Beyond's greatest problem was trying to force it into the DCAU and then ultimately retconning it being Bruce's son/clone.Joker should've beaten Tim Drake to death with a crowbar, it would've been a better fate than what really happened to him.
>>723439942>>Mark Hamill won't do Joker again without ConroyHamill is a shameless whore, he'd do anything for money.
>>723439252>Beyong
>>723441431>he's a version of a popular superhero in a futuristic settingYou mean, a dystopian cyberpunk shithole version of the original's city. Who would never have become a crimefighter except for the excesses of an amoral CEO ruining their life. Who both differentiate themselves from their namesakes by being a lot more willing to let people die. Both having some aspect that's the opposite of their namesake, with Terry being untrained but propped up by the Batsuit to Bruice being well trained but only having the powersuit as a last resort, and Miguel's webshooters being organic spinnerettes to Peter's genius invention.
>>723441763>People want Terry as Batman Beyond. The people who want Terry back are in their mid-thirties.
>>723441928So the prime consumer market with money to spend
>>723441747Wrong.
>>723441680Executive meddling didnt decide that AKSHUALLY Terry and his lil bro are genetic sons of Bruce Wayne because of some genetic sperm change cuckoldry. No no but you see, only Bruce wayne's direct genetic code can be MUH REAL BATMAN and there HAS to be one of them. THE WORLD NEEDS AN AUTIST LIKE BRUCE WAYNE.Hey you know how Terry's dad's death is the big reason why Terry awakens to the path of justice and decides to fight crime? LOL LMAO, wasnt even his actual dad. Just a carrier for Bruce's spermTimm is a fucking hack. The best part of Beyond was the fact that anyone with a drive to fight injustice could be batman. You didnt need to be born privileged to be able to fight crime. Also, I guess fuck Dick Grayson, and the rest of the Bat senpai because NO THERE HAS TO BE A DIRECT DESCENDANT OF BRUCFE WAYNE. NO ONE CAN BE LIKE HIM. HE'S SO HECKING SPECIAL.Bruce timm should never be allowed to touch anything batman both after what he did to Beyond and then the butchering of Barbara and Bruce's relationship in killing joke.
>>723441625be a fun opportunity to have a villain be a mid 00's liberal who's cryogenically thawed out in 2040 where basically everything they demanded of society has happened, and they can't cope with missing out on making the difference. Everyone's eating lab grown meat that's safe and healthy and animal exploitation is all but gone, the entire trans movement is gone since treatments exist to alter ones dna so no more hrt or destructive surgery, nobody cares about the distinction much anymore. Instead of that being paradise they're alienated and dejected because they had nothing else in their life but their grievances and reject the current society and go destructively looking for new more banal or unhinged causes.
Hated this cartoon when I was a kid. It's too icky.
>>723441967>So the prime consumer market with money to spendAnon, the last thing we need is WB trying to make BB, a concept that could only exist in a specific universe, into the next ATLAS and TT'03.
>>723442050>Bat senpaiI fucking hate that I forget some of the filters on this stupid site lmao. Why the fuck is 'f.a.m' getting turned into senpai anyway.regardless, I meant bat family
>>723442127Won't argue with that. Modern creatives poison everything precious from my childhood, the fucks.
>>723442050Ah it's this fucking autist again. Sorry but yes, intelligence, physical skill, and even moral conviction are greatly informed by your genetics. But also,>wasnt even his actual dad. Isn't remotely true. In fact one of the main reasons that Terry is so much better adjusted than Bruce is because his mom and dad were around to raise him.
>>723442278>In fact one of the main reasons that Terry is so much better adjusted than Bruce is becausePhantasm refused to murder his parents in a parking lot on Waller's orders so he'd be more like The Perfect Batman
I liked the episode where Barbara throws a batarang to help Terry and she seems really smug about it.

>>723442896>Of course it mattersYeah, nah. This is the world of fiction bro. There is serious effort to make Bruce Wayne peak human. Do you really think they'd make his son a boring ugly manlet accountant? Nah, his son is going to be a peak human like him.
>>723442113Thats a hilarious premise. Rocksteady should hire you on as a writer.Of course they wouldnt though as only untalented ass kissing hacks have a place in this industry
>quick, use the nanomachines to put Bruce Wayne's cum in that man's balls! We're going to need a new Batman in 18 years!Shittiest retcon
>>723443161Nah that's exactly some shit amanda waller would do
The bat cum was dumb cause Terry is clearly his own man regardless of genetics, he could not have been more different from Bruce.
>>723442896Not anywhere close to an extent that someone would go out of their way to fucking create an entire super secret genetic program. It would make a lot more sense if this was a plotline for Superman etc, because yeah, he IS genetically superior. In Batman lore alone, multiple people handle being batman when Bruce is incapacitated. The only thing Bruce has above the rest is his IQ. Which is NOT a guaranteed inheritance at all. Some of the smartest people on the planet have absolutely normal if not dumb kids.Terry could have easily remained a street kid that was smarter than the rest and was then mentored by Bruce to make up for his deficiencies. It makes for a better character. The Epilogue plot completely shits on not only the entire agency Terry has had into becoming Batman, by making it a HE WAS THE DESTINED SUCCESSOR ALL ALONG garbage. You simply cannot convince me otherwise I'm sorry
>>723443161>doctor, this shot isn't going to make me shoot another man's sperm out of my dick will it? My wife and I are trying to conceive a child so if this shot made another man's sperm come out of my dick, that would be very inconvenient for us.
>>723439252Based, it would never be as good as the cartoons were.
The thing about the batcum twist is they must have come up with it early on in development for the show.Look at Terry's parents, they're both redheads, yet had two sons with black hair. It was planned all along.
>ruins everything because his love of cuckoldry was stronger
>>723443428wait, both kids are Bruce's?
>>723443428>Look at Terry's parents, they're both redheads, yet had two sons with black hair. It was planned all along. If Terry was going to be someone else's son, it still shouldn't have been Bruce.>>723443481Yeah
>>723443481Yep.Which means Terry basically had a Robin waiting to join him.
>>723443242DCAU Cadmus tried to recreate Superman already. Or Supergirl. Or whatever the fuck Galatea was meant to be besides Power Girl with a different name.
>>723443457>cartoonist decides to write>shit ensues
>>723443313>It would make a lot more sense if this was a plotline for Superman etc,The whole reason that Waller was able to do this is specifically because the tech was already invented and used to clone supergirl. >The only thing Bruce has above the rest is his IQ. And his autistic willpower and fixations>Which is NOT a guaranteed inheritance at all. Nobody said it was. In fact Waller outright says Terry isn't as smart. Which is kind of the point of the finale, that Terry is a better batman specifically because he didn't end up following in Bruce's footsteps, in spite of Waller's initial intentions. Unlike Bruce, who sits in his mansion a bitter defeated loser because he alienated everyone who ever tried to care about him, Terry has a chance to live a better life and rely on his friends and family. >The Epilogue plot completely shits on not only the entire agency Terry has had into becoming Batman, by making it a HE WAS THE DESTINED SUCCESSOR ALL ALONG garbage. It literally directly says that fate is bullshit and that what Terry has done and will do are entirely his own choices.
>>723443563Matt becoming Robin was done in a comic and it was stupid. Everyone who knows Bruce is just "Holy FUCK Bruce, ANOTHER one?!"
>>723443584>DCAU Cadmus tried to recreate Superman already. Or Supergirl. Or whatever the fuck Galatea was meant to be besides Power Girl with a different name.Another thing that sucks about the DCAU. These composite characters suck.
>>723443428Because it was. The original Paul Dini story was that it was Selina Kyle that was going to clone/testtube baby a kid from Bruce (because he didnt slam one into her lmao) and then raise that kid into being a more ruthless Batman.basically the plot that eventually became Talia and Damien's.That movie never got made, and the basic premise got changed into what we got after Bruce Timm got his hands on it
>>723443584Galatea a cute
Waller's plan was stupid because even with Bruce's DNA and two dead parents, Terry couldn't be Batman without also having Bruce's money.
>>723439252there was one on the n64 and it was hot dogshitbatman was the king of superhero games of the 8-bit and 16-bit eras, but then all the 5th and 6th gen batman games were irredeemable dogshit except for, ironically, the batman begins tie-in game which was at least sort of ok

Terry McGinnis is proof that a scrappy troubled kid turning his life around and becoming a hero was a good idea and that the editor who killed off Jason Todd were idiots.

>>723444229They killed Jason off because the editors didn't want Robin anymore despite missing the point about TDKR.
>>723444229>Batman spergs out in the comic version so hard he fucking hits Jason in the neck with his shitty knockoff shuriken and he nearly bleeds to death>All because Jason wanted to put the guy that tortured him to death and killed his mom to dieSuch a stupid fucking idea. >>723444482Yeah and then rigged the vote.
>beyong
>>723444317UTRH was a terrible story to begin with. The entire story happened because the writer didn’t get the point of Clayface Jason in Hush and decided that was the real Jason, and then he made the character a 180 of who he was the last time we saw him.
>>723439252>beyong
>>723444317That comic is such a disaster I have no idea what they were trying to say with that one. At least if it was Two-Face or Riddler or Mr. Freeze then Batman would have had a point, because there's at least some shred of hope for them, but the fucking Joker?

>>723444804While retarded in hindsight since his intro is beheading like seven guys Jason even makes the point in not having to murder guys like Freeze or Cobblepot since it's just not needed compared to The Joker.
>>723444317>Red Hood's saving grace was his design and that's it.not anymore, they already ditch the helmet long ago.
>>723445010His original design for Jason I mean, the only one people like aside from I guess the one Joker used.

>>723444804>>723444973It was incredibly retarded because Jason undercuts his own message heavily because he’s doing a shit ton of heinous shit in record time.
>>723439252this show captured scifi gothic very well
>>723444093Jason todd died because of a rigged poll.Remember that Simpsons episode where Bart was asked to choose between the 10k and the elephant? DC comics wanted to "have a closer approach with the audience" with death in the family, making people choose via phone poll if Jason Todd will die or not, knowing that no Robin getting killed will win the poll. Turns out "Kill Robin" won, and DC comitted with the result. Turns out that years later they discovered that some random basement dweller tampered the poll by using a machine that simulated thousands of phone calls, all calling the "kill Robin" number.>t. /co/mrade
>>723446618>thousands of phone callsAnd yet still somehow only managed to beat Save Robin by less than 100
>>723439252There's this. I remember liking it as a kid but I found it hard.
>>723446706Which tells that people didn't want Jason todd to die.

>>723447302A lot of scenes from X-Men Evo lifted from teenagers in live action media, likely to assist the animators with what they were out of their depth on, like the other anon said the show cuts content from the lifted scenes like the confines and crowd.
>>723444482>>723446618Joker still beat Jason repeatedly with a crowbar, right? Even if Jason "lives" that's the same end result except now you've got a disfigured guy who'll live the rest of his miserable life in a vegetative coma.

He couldn't be noticeably different except for the addition - and not subtraction - of a few extra superpowers on top of what Peter had.
I think I'd rather have an Absolute Arkham game than Beyond Arkham at this point.

>>723457913>Miles is almost a carbon copy of Peter. In what world? Miles isn't a nerd, was raised by his parents, is very socially outgoing, and he suffers from imposter syndrome. In the comics part of his motivation is to prove his Uncle Aaron wrong.Peter is proudly geeky, swoons over women, and struggles with anger issues. He's obviously motivated by the guilt of him being able to prevent his uncles death who told him the whole code about great strength and great responsibility.
>>723458305Bruce is also genetically predisposed to be fucking crazy. His mom became the Joker in a timeline were Bruce was shot instead of his parents.
When they actually tried to do something with Terry in comics in New 52, Future's End, they did a shitty wrong-future story that was both crappy and too edgy and basically sank any chance of Terry being used again for a decade. But hey, that was about a decade ago. So I suppose they could try again now.

>>723461625>and most of the show was about relationship dramaNot really, this isn't the board for it but the majority of the story telling was about the corruption Gotham eventually fell into despite Bruce's efforts, like TDKR it sort of highlights a city can be saved but needs to save itself to remain so.Teenage drama is used to address that often, but it's mostly to show how screwed the future generation is due to the failings of the prior.Bane's Venom become slappers anyway, Dr.Dorian's genetic experiments becoming splicing anyway, Joker's psychotic antics inspiring a delinquent subculture anyway. The "best" stuff however has little to do with the youth, like Sneak Peak, Mr. Freeze, Talia, Inque and Blight's ironic fates, Mad Stan's rants.I'd also throw in Superman, but mileage may vary on the tone it establishes for every moment since its premise until Terry getting involved. The show actually uses the cyberpunk/flash forward concept well to address a lot of things without feeling like "a very special episode" or out of step with Batman media. Solid design work in that last area too.

I don't know why but Spider-Man writers really just love to shit on Peter these days, I remember him being much stronger both in body and mind back when I was reading Spider-Man comics in 90s-00s, now he's basically a twink and has constant issues.

>>723474827>we gave Miles lighting powers because being spiderman isn't enough and people like Static more
>>723472117Terry's entire story is about how he isn't Bruce and a mutual relation between himself and Bruce where Bruce trains Terry to be the hero he needs to be, and Terry helps mend the old wounds in Bruce's heart that completely corrupted him as a person (reminder that Bruce completely froze his suit while Terry was in it and fully prepared to let him get beaten to death in the first episode of the show). It was give-and-take, not one or the other.Miles' entire existence from the get-go was just taking from Peter. He got a similar set of powers, which is fine since that doesn't really mean much in the grand scheme of things. He took over the exact same roster of antagonists with one or two new additions. He took over Peter's persona life in the Ultimate universe. Out-of-universe the writers at Marvel were upfront with the fact that Miles' character was introduced just because Obama was president-- think that you will about the man, but that's the stated reason why Miles was created. There wasn't an ounce of respect when they passed things on.You'd think that things would at least get better for Peter in the mainline universe, considering that Marvel has not only gotten their cake but are allowed to eat it too. But that just doesn't happen. Because of One More Day, the writers basically get a free pass to just shit on Peter however they want, and any attempts to change that have been outright blocked by their editorial department that wants Peter to stay young and relatable for some bizarre reason, which in their minds means that he needs to be shit on relentlessly and isn't allowed to be given a break. How is it that none of his hardships were acknowledged until fucking One World Under Doom?
>>723439512C.I.N.E.M.A. The problem with today's show is that they are purely political, they can never have the same TONE and ATMOSPHERE these shows had. Is it anyone's surprised that many Gen Z are realizing at how good and dark these shows were in the past.
>>723474827>Oh shit! This character is wildly unpopular because we killed off a more popular character and ham-handedly shoved him into his role!>Let's wait over a decade and then completely revamp how we want to handle the character and pretend that his entire existence didn't come about from killing off a more popular characterMeanwhile, Terry was right on the first pull, and also has a debuff from being a 20-year-old character from a series that ended 20 years ago.
>>723439252The problem with a modern batman beyond is that the Batfamily has gotten too big in DC, it's sorta hard to find a place for Terry without asking the question what happened to the 15+ other guys.Bruce burning bridges with Dick, Barbara, Selina and Tim is fine because it's a small number. But Bruce burning Bridges with, Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian, Cass, Babs, Steph, Catwoman, his cousin, etc etc. And yet just picks up Terry?

>>723452663>tfw ywn impregnate Robin
>>723485079They didn't, though. The entire point is that Terry became Batman of his own volition, rather than falling into the entire plot that Amanda Waller engineered to make a carbon copy of Bruce. It's a wholly unnecessary convolution of something the show was already about.
>>723487253>Something Amanda Waller does is stupid, convoluted, and pointlessSo, it's in-character?
>>723472117Terry is so far in the future that fans can pretend Batman Beyond is an elseworlds story and won't interfere with their heckin status quo. Miles was ALSO an elseworlds character, but because they moved him into the main 616 universe now he's "shoehorned", now he's "black Peter Parker" even tough Peter LITERALLY has two clones of himself walking around since the fucking 90s. People are TERRIFIED of Miles taking Peter's spot even though it's apparent that will never happen and you should treat the pair like Kamen Rider Ichigo and Niigo.
>>723472745Miles never replaced the main Peter Parker! he replaced Ultimate Peter Parker wo had a complete story arc that had to end with his death.
>>723487351It's not the Amanda Waller Task Force X show. It's not about what Amanda Waller would or wouldn't do. >>723489631Heroism is a genetic trait
>>723489631They did let him be his own person. >>723472117Because Miles is a nothing character. The ONLY piece of media that tried to do SOMETHING with Miles is the Spider-Verse films and I still feel that's the "bare-minimum" rather than any full potential.Look at other Spider-Man successors, Ben Reilly, Mayday Parker, they all had something that set them apart and made them interesting. Ben Reilly was 90s cool and Mayday was this cocky athletic tomboy (and arguably the most canon successor), etc.Miles is just a black version of Peter Parker. He's the literal definition of a DEI character, the thing people on this site (and out of this site) forget is that Woke and DEI used to be defined as FORCED diversity characters. If a writer has a genuinely interesting idea for a minority character, then they use that, same as any other good character. A good character is marked by being interesting, DEI exists to fill up a checklist, a diversity quota. If you ask me, Miles should've been set apart by having his personality be radically different than Peter's, as well as giving him a few interesting ideas to make him actually stand out, like giving him a more martial arts oriented background. He maybe suffers more than Peter in the long-run in his life, make his story more like the manga Holyland, but eventually he gains a more stoic outlook on life and becomes far more like an unmovable mountain. I'd also make him a deeply spiritual character (or a character that BECOMES deeply spiritual).Hire me Marvel, I will mog all your current writers (except the nu-Ultimate guys, they are doing great).

>>723442050Personally, I do think it makes sense that you need to be as autistic as Bruce to be Batman. Anyone else would have gotten killed off ages ago. You can't be one of the greatest superheroes in the world without sacrificing anything. I know Epilogue made a big deal about how Terry doesn't HAVE to make the same sacrifices as Bruce, but I feel that kinda cheapens what Batman is. Batman only became as exceptional as he became because Bruce gave everything he had and more to it. If he didn't go as far as he did, he would have been a lesser hero. He wouldn't have deserved to be a founding member of the Justice League. It's only through his sheer autistic determination that he became as great as hero as the likes of Superman.

>>723463697Jonny Quest was stylish all right, though the limited H&B animation makes it look dated.
Terry eventually gave up on it and became a doctor like his real dad.
>>723472117The more apt comparison is Terry and Miguel, because both are successors done right. Miles is treated as a REPLACEMENT of Peter, not a successor. He's poorly-written, has the same powers (but better), has the same supporting cast/opponents, the same setting, and is just a less likeable character than Peter with less interesting problems.Miguel and Terry are both great successors because they stand separate from their predecessor. They have different powers, skillsets, settings, supporting casts, and rivals. Terry is an apprentice to Bruce, Miguel is TOTALLY separated from Peter, but both work. They both bring something new to the table because they aren't just meant to be the original but better. They have different plotlines to face and different issues to overcome, using different toolsets to do it. Most importantly, Terry and Miguel are likeable characters with fun personalities.
>>723505706I don't really think there's much Terry can do as Batman that Bruce couldn't do better, aside from yap.
>>723505083how much of a time crunch are they on for these comics? the arts atrocious
>>723505843Terry is objectively worse at basically all "skills" but he has the futuristic supersuit. So he's got a different set of "powers" than Bruce. Bruce is a better fighter, detective, and tactician, but Terry can fly, has super strength, and knows how to troll people.
>>723505843Terry isnt as mentally ill as Bruce. When he ran into his old villians, he didnt just punch them in the face. He sympathised with them, tried to talk them out of it, even reached out his hand in friendship.
>>723506339Bruce tried to be nicer and optimistic earlier on in his career. He only became more jaded after the timeskip between BTAS and TNBA. It took like ten or so years for Bruce to become a total hardass. And even then, he did lighten up a bit after joining the Justice League.
>>723439512As cool as that opening was, the show was never able to hold my attention the same way that Batman:TAS did. Maybe I aged out of the target demographic.
>>723506219Bruce originally created that suit for himself. He only quit once his heart problems got in the way too much and he forced forced to pull a gun. Also, being able to punch criminals good was never Bruce's greatest strength to begin with.
>>723506836Yeah, I know he made it for himself, but the suit was never in his powerset (i.e. he never used it) and it's not iconic for him to have it. You're just being obtuse and ignoring the obvious differences between what Terry can do and what Bruce can do. This is like saying that web-shooters aren't in Miles's powerset because they were invented by Peter. Bruce is a trained ninja with gadgets, Terry is a teenager with an Iron Man suit, and the difference is fun

>>723485495The animators, writers and other artists that made it possible retired and didn't train the next generation and when they did, the corporate heads got so cheap that they pushed out poorly written poorly animated drivel to the masses for a quick buck. Same as any other American industry really.
>>723439512I really didn't know how good I had it back then.
>>723509817At that point, he was so jaded that I think it became harder for him to care. Most criminals stay criminals. Even if it seemed like they might get better, they didn't. Remember, Bruce was generally a lot more sympathetic towards criminals in BTAS. But things just didn't improve. The only reason most of his old rogues don't wreak havoc is Gotham anymore is because they're either dead or too old and broken to do much of anything. Most of Terry's enemies ended up self-destructing. And Bruce was too old and tired to care anymore.
>>723506219The thing is that it's not only the suit, it's the suit for the physical part and also Bruce in his ear for the intellectual part, but what makes it interesting is that it doesn't result in his character being done. The suit doesn't make it so that Bruce has a flesh dummy that can just turn up in the pay-to-win armor, kick the villain's ass using Bruce's genius plan, and who then simply adds comedy gold commentary. It's because Terry still fails, and tries to find his own way, while negotiating Bruce's input, that makes him compelling as a Batman.Functionally you can say the suit and Bruce give him his powers and that's that, but an important part of it is, having been giving the suit and a mentor, he can successfully work with them to actually achieve something in a Gotham that also hasn't stood still.
>>723508139I don't know why you're bringing that up. The argument wasn't about who was a great hero or anything. Just that Terry and Bruce have different skills and powers.

>>723510441I just ignore it. It's a stupid twist that came like five years later in a different show entirely and only serves as more Batwank in the end.
>>723510504The suit did a lot of the work, plus Bruce coming up with ways to deal with most issues. Bruce was generally the brains of the outfit and Terry was always heavily disadvantaged whenever they got cut off from each other.Plus Bruce tended to do really well against crazy metahumans in Justice League. I doubt Terry could have dodged Darkseid's Omega Beams.
>>723510739Also, it's worth pointing out that a lot of Terry's enemies were kinda stupid. Like Blight was powerful, but he was incredibly self-destructive and unstable. That's actually how a lot of Terry's enemies went down. They blew themselves up due to sheer insanity or incompetence.
>>723472745Bruce is not replaced. He literally was too old. Terry was Batman II. It wasn't a replacement it was a legitimate, wanted succession. Bruce wanted someone in the suit, Terry was capable of being in the suit.
>>723472117Cus Terry was actually write as character, not just propaganda object. Beside isn't better compare for niggers character be Static and Miles?
>>723505843The movie proves this is not true. Terry defeats Bruce's greatest nemesis using tactics Bruce would have never considered. Terry is different, not inferior. He may not be as intelligent as Bruce, but he's just as if not more creative, especially when thinking on his feet. He's got his own methods and they work.

>>723510993Joker just happened to lose his joybuzzer and Terry retrieved it. That's not a tactic Bruce wouldn't have used.
>>723510993The main difference is Terry is more street smart. Bruce knows the Joker is trying to get a rise out of him but never drops the act that causes that attention seeking behaviour in the first place.Terry is self aware enough that when he wears the suit, he’s a human being and not a symbol, so he can actually fire back and completely demolish Joker’s viewpoint in 2 seconds and ruin the game
>>723511667Not that Bruce would have needed to resort to that, since he could have just beaten Joker up. That said, it's funny how much Joker was manhandling Terry during that fight. The suit was always weirdly vulnerable to just being punched. You'd think the super suit would offer more protection.
There's a greater than 0% chance old Bruce wanted his younger self what was going to happen to Tim and probably caused a time pardox trying to stop it.

>>723458051why does he look discomfited by the positive female attention at the endfucking hapa neurotics, mang
I've gone back and forth on Epilogue. I never realized that the black and white scenes where Terry leaves Dana or has the argument with Bruce didn't actually happen, they were situations that Terry was contemplating. Bruce's only actual appearance in the episode was when he made the soup, and there's no indication that he knew Terry's origin, though it wouldn't be surprising if he did. That's why Terry's later conversations with Dana and Bruce don't acknowledge any of the drama from those previous encounters, because they never happened. When you realize this, you understand how much of the episode is just Terry's coming to terms with his feelings.Terry being Bruce's son is a really lame reveal. On the surface, it's WOW COOL HIS SON, but I now think that UGH, HE DOESN'T NEED TO BE HIS SON may be just immediately below that surface and not a particularly deep take either. Rather I think the message is supposed to be that in spite of everything, Terry became Batman not because of how he was created, but because of who he was as a person. Amanda Waller never gave him the trauma that changed him, Gotham did completely on its own, because Gotham needs a Batman. His parents raised him right. Terry became Batman of his own volition, against Bruce's objections, and he helped and saved people because that's what was natural to him. And when Terry comes to understand this, that he is not his genetics, he understands that Bruce has been a good mentor/father figure, and though Bruce would never prioritize having a family over the mission, his heroic actions did ultimately result in him being given a son whom he will be there to support and is there for him.
>>723517565It always bothered me how inconsistent the beyond suits strength was. In some scenes he says it like a 10x magnification of his strength and he can bench press a car or like in this one karate chop steel hand cuffs. Then in other scenes he'll be trapped under some rubble or bound with a chain or get bodied by a big guy with muscles. Its like they couldn't decide if he was batman levels or like spider-man levels of strength and it varied from episode to episode, and sometimes scene to scene.

>>723520481Although you're correct that's true, I think the major strength of the series was always the character writing and plot concepts. If those are enough to get you engaged than those kind of technical details can be handwaved. The reason why a lot of criticism focuses on plot holes or technical details like strength being inconsistent is because the media has failed elsewhere so the viewers aren't engaged, and things like plot holes are more objective so critics latch onto that because it sounds smarter to say "there's this logical inconsistency" than "the story and characters didn't engage me."
>>723521994the worst part is that there's actually some really worthwhile comics out there. but filtering through the hundreds of generic chapters is almost impossible, not even mentioning trying to follow the volumes, since most of the time there's different editions and storylines which are a pain to read on the correct order

>>723520762Short answer yesLong answer, it's baffling it doesn't already exist given the groundwork for it to.Gotham is a shithole, no doubt, so I won't act like the events of City and Knight were that far fetched but I honestly feel the world of Gotham Beyond lends itself better to an open world with routine havoc in the streets than its present day.You don't need a contrived plot for Hugo Strange or Scarecrow to take over, shady people like Paxton Powers are already in power and flooding the city with every form of corruption there is along with the rampant gang violence from Ts and Jokerz. The only reason I can see for devs being averse is preferring Bruce as Batman or fearing customers will and won't buy the game, but honestly it wouldn't be that hard to do a DMC4 I hesitate to say the more apropos Spider-Man 2 because that didn't leave the best impression where half the missions are a little before Bruce retired but is using the Beyond suit and the latter half are Terry stuff.

>>723478969Na its a writing thing. If Miles writing was say on the level of Nightwing, that is to say Miles has his own city, enemies, cast, etc, he would be better received.Another good example, before DC went to shit would be Wally West, he straight up replaced the original flash Barry Allen, but he was so well written that people loved him.Miles WOULD be loved and enjoyed if he just had proper writers, sadly all he has are people that use him as a mouthpiece that can do no wrong, talk down to Peter and keeps getting more and more retarded powers. Then again his origin was literally just Bendis wanting to make a black Spider-Man so perhaps he was always doomed.
>>723473196Tim is not gay, faggot writers turned him "bi" so he could butt fuck superboy.
>>723525538Tim Drake was a child and abandoned all his martial arts training after what Joker did. He doesn't have any strength or experience.
>>723525795You're not supposed to think of it like that. In the episode where Terry meets Barbara for the first time, she's been retired as Batgirl for like 40 years but still throws a Batarang perfectly.
>>723525373>thinking the 2nd/3rd most popular comic book character could ever be replaced.Almost like he's a tantalizing target or something.Don't forget, this is the same company that gave us Iron Heart, Lady Thor, and already successfully replaced Nick Fury.
>>723510646>>723520382terry wasnt asian when this show released, that is modernist woke revisionism.
>>723525972Nick Fury wasn't replaced, there are just two Nick Furys.
>>723525882She's the commissioner of the GCPD, she stayed in the game to some extent. Tim abandoned all of it completely to work on computers.
>>723526104And how often do they use Nick Fury #1 now that everyone is used to Agent Motherfucker from the MCU?
The real question is, how the fuck is Bruce still alive in that epilogueHe'd be like 90+
>>723526104>least dishonest arachnigger lover
>>723526239Rich dude with scientific advancements? Ignore the brain damage and arthritis from years of crime fighting I guess
Sex with old Barbara
>>723526236>>723526305I'm sorry you guys don't actually know what you're talking about. Nick Fury Sr. aka the original, white Nick Fury was shown doing covert ops shit in secret wars, was the leader of The Exiles for a while, and eventually became a herald of the watcher. Nick Fury Jr, aka black Nick Fury secretly replaced his father as head of SHIELD for a while.
>>723527046>let me describe exactly how I'm dishonest, this will convince bystanders I'm right and not from blueskyIQ, etc.
>>723505407Modern Disney could never.
>>723527137>it's dishonest to speak factuallyOkay. You're right actually, Nick Fury was in fact race swapped and there's no nuance or context whatsoever for it!
>>723527353>nuance or contextThere they are, the magic kike words.
>>723485495Some decades ago, a veteran animator was basically begging new generation animators or anyone else entering the inudstry to read a couple good books for once in their goddamn lives to build some better perspective on WHAT to animate. What stories and characters should all that animation effort be spent on? Or at least dive into the passionately made classic movies of the past. Most simply did not and so their formation was lacking
>>723527046>Nick Fury Jr, aka black Nick Fury secretly replaced his fatherThis is ridiculous. Like if Black Adam went missing and they were like>have Black Panther do his job, they're basically the same right
>>723527480STOP RIGHT THERE GOY, YOU'RE MISSING THE CONTEXT
>>723527480You're going to love when you hear about T'challa's son, the next king of wakanda by bloodright being... a white boy.
>>723527592I like how you're acknowledging the retcon but saying it's jewish propaganda because you dislike it. Nigga all comics are jewish propaganda and we don't have to like every single retcon by any means but they do exist.
>>723527760>it happened and it's actually a good thing
>>723521882I think maybe the industry bloat that was going on long before streaming was delivering some death blows plus the material cost of living on the west coast skyrocketing (the outer areas of jap cities are actually decently affordable) was going to choke out western animation anyway. But also, a huge difference that I don't think gets mentioned enough is that western animation didn't use that one good window of time it had to create more tv adaptations that could've launched even higher in popularity and staying power in people's minds. They were pretty rare compared to what television anime was doing. Western fiction novels used to have decent variety with a lot of good stuff a couple decades ago, but now the moment is passed.A lot of jap anime that proved to have some staying power (take FMA as one popular example) are basically collaborations between a passionate writer who already caught some kind of audience (like a manga author) and the anime staff. These authors didn't have to be perfect at all, just have some passion to build on. And then the staff didn't have to stress and sweat so much over the important story beats. These different levels of collaboration helped each other out.
>>723527615It's a good bit of bantz from Priest, but can't be as egregious as Fury unless and until everyone starts curiously referring to him as Black Panther in a familiar and defacto fashion. And Priest even at his shitpostiest wouldn't sink to that level of hack writing others are willing to for synergy royalties or the behest of editorial mandate.
