There's also a lot of platformers in the 90' which are isekai, Kid Cameleon, Another World or Heart of Darkness for example. Isekais were part of video games even before it was a word.

>>723450906In most isekai animu the premise is not used for much else than establish why genericMC-kun is OP and why the world works like a videogame and promptly forgotten and never brought up again. Those 2 things come by default with an actual videogame so the level of abstraction is unnecessary.Also sword art online, the progenitor of modern isekai, games exist so it's not like there's none.
