Sequel/reboot when?
>>
>>723453113
For me, it's Hulk: Ultimate Destruction
>>
>Prototype 2
eww
>>
Just play the first two originals
>>
>entire message of the first game is that an inhuman virus who thinks itself to be an amnesiac scientist turns out to be a better, more humane person than the man it believed itself to be
>despite consuming and assimilating the memories of hundreds of the most heinous black ops soldiers and mad scientists to ever infest this planet, it still risks its own continuing existence to save the innocent civilians of Manhattan from nuclear destruction
>in a supplemental comic book, they have the virus decide to genocide mankind because he was betrayed and robbed by a random woman he was staying with
Character assassination 101
>>
>>723453113
>mash square mindlessly during a cutscene
I hate video games
>>
>>723453113
>past 2012
hopefully never
>>
>>723454251
Hatred of women is one of the most powerful villain motivations possible
>>
>>723453113
Hopefully never.
>>
>>723459552
He already dealt with Greene and then his girlfriend selling him out to Blackwatch in the original game, a random woman he knew for a week being the last straw is still character assasination

They were hyping that shit up only to give us le angry black man and le evil mercer.
>>
>>723453113
only played the first one a few years ago and it got repetitive real fast, it's the kind of game you can only enjoy when you're a kid because destroying stuff is funny at that age
but there isn't much else to it to keep an adult hooked
>>
>>723463852
You sound more like a retard than an adult

>>
Prototype 1 is like the definition of a 6/10 game for me. Cool and intresting for 3-4 hours but then very repetitive and somewhat grindy. Also doesn't control very well but I'm willing to chalk that one up to me playing on MnK
>>
>>723454251
And then the concept of Heller actually just being the virus is pretty much never even addressed since he seems to more or less retain his entire identity, have no amnesia, and by the end of the game, he is just a big fucking hero that's " doin' it fo' his dodda". I fucking hate it so much. All the fucking time with this dumb shit. And they are gonna hit you with the same tired gaslight
>you're just racist. You just don't like the new guy because he's black
How about fuck you. If the original Mercer was black, and Heller was Indian, I would still hate it just as much. Those disingenuous cucks know what they are doing. It's always a black replacement character. What should the race of replacement character be? How about no replacement character? People were still happy to see Mercer's story. They don't just make a (good) game starring a black character. Where's the Spawn game? Where's the Black Panther game? Bet you won't be playing as a differently raced version of them in their sequels. God DAMN it is so stupid it hurts.

>>
>>723466540
I love Prototype but they blew their load too hard on the moveset and didn't put enough time into the world, missions, or what you can actually do with your powers.
>>
There are rumours about a remaster after the recent patch added a load of credits
>>

Fuck out of here with that garbage

Oh boy another Tony Hawk hackjob
>>

Superhuman by Weird World is the sequel/reboot.

Probably never ever, but they are remastering the first one. If that performs well enough they may revive the series.
>>
>releases update that bricks the game
why did they do this?
>>
>>723476404
So you buy the remaster they're releasing in a year.
>>
>>723453113
there is no chance that a faithful sequel can be released today, remember all the drama surrounding hatred 10 years ago? p1 is much worse in regards to being a powetripping genocide simulator
>>
Is it really THAT bad?
>>
>>723477295
It's a step down from the first one in every way, but I'd say it's still a fun time. Rapes the setting and shits all over the first game, but the gameplay is still fun.
>>
>>723477295
Gameplay is a bit improved, you can parry the faggot missiles and weaponize vehicles like in Hulk: UD (kinda), and the Tentacle MOGS the Whip so hard it's not even funny (and is honestly pretty technically impressive), but there's almost no challenges and I cannot get over how hard they raped Mercer. They also removed the sick armor and the arms.
>>
>>723476404
Does it actually? I had the game installed on the steamdeck but I haven't played it in a few months.
>>
>>723479223
Depends on your system. It bricked it for me but then I installed the new version of the Prototype fix and it works fine now, except for fire and explosion effects disappearing after like 2 hours of playtime after which I need to restart the game.
>>
>>723453305
FPBP. It deserves a remaster and sequel.
>>
>>723463852
Even when it first came out, it was inferior to inFamous. And they came out around the same time so I was playing both. I was still a teenager at the time, but Prototype was only fun in short bursts to blow of steam, it wasn't actually a very good game.
>>
>>723480365
So do Web of Shadows, X-Men Legends and Edge of Time & Shattered Dimensions. But sadly all these games are stuck in licensing hell because Activision went under.
>>
>>723477295
No. /v/ just seethed about playing as a black man. Mercer being the main villain of the game made plenty of sense because he was already the villain of his own game. And I don't know why anyone cared that much, he wasn't a memorable or likable character that you could get attached to anyway.
>>
>>723480585
Activision didn't really go under, they got folded into Microsoft. It's really because Activision lost the Marvel license not long after that Deadpool game they made 12 years ago and they never bothered to try and get it back or work anything because Kotick was ever the penny pinching Jew.
>>
>>723480751
>Deadpool
I played that game for the first time a year ago and I thought the dialogue was pretty good compared to modern capeshit. Grim fucking times, man.
>>
>>723480585
I never did get to play any of those three Spider-Man games. I wanted to play Web of Shadows especially, but now all of them are hard to get. I still have X-Men Legends and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction for Xbox though, along with Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man.
>>
>>723480907
>Hard to get
They all run on modern systems except for Edge of Time which sadly never saw a PC port and last I checked it emulated like ass. Legends emulates okay but sadly also never got a PC port.
>>
>>723480876
I was lucky enough to get an Xbone copy of it for around $15-$20 back in 2017 before it became rare and expensive, but I didn't personally care for it or finish it. I can't stand Nolan North's rendition of Deadpool, it's too annoying for me compared to the movies. I also didn't think it was that fun to play.
>>
>>723453113
When Radical gets freed from the CoD support mines, which is never.
>>723476240
>If that performs well enough they may revive the series.
I've seen this bullshit spouted so many times and it never happens. In fact, this series already got that 8th gen port bundle with 1 and 2 only for nothing to come of it. Activision of all companies especially wouldn't bother making a new game unless a collection somehow sold 10x than CoD.
>>
I remember playing Prototype 1 and 2 back in the day and liking both of them a lot. It's a shame they never made a third one.
In the first game you play as a dude who slowly becomes a villain after he loses everything.
In the second game the dude stays a hero because his daughter serves as an anchor for his humanity.
Both games were a fun 7/10 experience with no strings attached. I'm tired of every game needing to be a flawless masterpiece that's been in development for half a decade or it's garbage. The industry was in a better state when we had more mid games like Prototype.
>>
>>723480907
Web of shadows is abandon ware so it's free.

>>723481580
It will never cease to break my heart that all of Activision's once great developers have been enslaved to COD for the past 10-15 years. All of these companies used to make really cool stuff.

>Raven
>Radical
>High Moon
>Beenox
>Treyarch
>>
>>723484268
Raven and Radical yes, treyarch has never done anything good outside cod and the other two are literally whomst'ves?
>>
>>723484820
The fuck are you talking about? Before being the Black Ops studio, Treyarch made all the Spider-Man games, including Spider-Man 2, Ultimate, and Web of Shadows. Not to mention the extremely based and underrated Minority Report game.

Before being COD slaves, Beenox made Spider-Man Edge of Time and Shattered Dimensions.

Before being COD slaves, High Moon made Darkwatch, Transformers: War for Cybertron, and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron.
>>
>>723484820
Bro Treyarch made Spider-Man 2 and Beenox are responsible for Edge of Time and Shattered Dimensions.
>>
>>723484268
Interesting how all those guys got migrated to cod while Bizarre Creations was outright shutdown after Blur flopped. They got off easy compared to everyone else.
>>
>>723485803
Neversoft got axed too after the Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero games stopped selling.
>>
>>723477295
My only major problem with it is that you don't unlock all your powers until the game is over.
>>
>>723466736
I miss FF mobius
>>
>>723485598
Wow, tons of 6th and 7th gen slop I never played, a thousand pardons.
>>
>>723485702
Spiderman 2 is fun because of the one guy who programmed the web slinging, outside of that it's a genuinely boring game.
>>
>>723454251
it's deep, it's just to show that no matter how evil or how many men he consumes, they are NOTHING compared to the evil of a single woman.
>>
I just cant understand why they changed to a black guy. Was it just purely the beginning of the DEI shit, for lack of a better term?
>>
>>723489343
zoomer mong
>>
>>723490114
I'm 35, by 2005 I was no longer interested in licenced shovelware, hence my ignoring a Michael Bay Transforms game.
>>
>>723477295
>awfully boring protagonist
>writing goes out of its way to make sure player understands that he plays the good guy
>smaller scale populated zones, Red Zone feels huge, but is not fun to explore or be around in general
>turns a fairly realistic down-to-earth settings into a comic book
>turns Blackwatch into a bunch of homicidal hicks that shoot civilians for fun
Combat is technically better, but locking on makes the game boring.

Also, the game just lacks that feeling of being in the living breathing city that struggles with viral outbreak, it's not dynamic like the first game.
>>
>>723490290
That's honestly way more cringe than being a zoomer. Nothing more pathetic than a poseur. Tell the class what you were playing in 05.
>>
>>723485598
tried to play shattered dimensions a couple months ago and it was so broken in parts that i couldn't force myself to finish it
>>
>>723490448
FEAR, cs: source, cod2, a lot of ridge racer, resident evil 4, chaos theory, timesplitters, subsistence, and I borrowed a ps2 so I could play god of war.
>>
>>723491039
based
>>
>>723491039
cringe. the ultimate poseur list.
>>
>>723491204
thutch a postheur, hathn't even played tranthformerth, fall of thybertron

>>723491691
I appreciate you going out of your way to really cement it with this post.
