This is the most fun I've had with a survival game in a long time. World feels huge and addicting to explore. Ending boss fight was underwhelming though.
Suffers from the same issues all these mineycrafta clones haveIts heavily front loaded, after you get into the reactor its a massive fucking grind to get anywhere for next to no reward, the fuck do i want to grind crafting shit when i already have a gun that kills every enemy in the game in 2 seconds? First half of the game is fine tho.
>>723604662A biotic factor of what?
>>723604887i got tired of the crafting mechanic so quicklykilling that hp sponge robot at the beginning was such a pain in the assit would be fine if the combat was a little more fun but no you just kite it to death with a good melee weapon
>>723607967If you did anything other than set up a chopinator trap and crouch under it to easily kill the robot in five seconds without even needing to move, you were too smoothbrained to work in the facility and deserved to be filtered out
>>723608548>noo you played the game wrong cheesing that terrible bullet sponge enemy with such a boring technique>you should have used this other boring technique to cheese it instead>its very simple just look up a youtube tutorial, or grind to craft dozens of different items and weapons to see which ones are effectiveno its cool man you guys enjoy your game i was just speaking my feelings on it. the action feels weak and thats an important part of the genre for me
>>723607967>>723609396how far did you get into the gamethis will decide whether you are foreverially marked as retarded btw
I enjoy playing it with my girlfriend I’m about to finish up Reactors but I usually just end up farming stuff to pretty up my base than actually making progress these days Fuck power leeches
Turns out Survival Slop is good when it's put into an interesting world instead of just procedural nonsense (IE Subnautica)
>>723609932i got the hack tool and maybe hacked one thing with it
>>723609396bullrush (blunt perk that lets you do a fast heavy attack while sprinting) should just be a default part of the game and apply to all weaponsit is borderline non-negotiable (even if you're maining sharp) and makes combat way more fun
I loved it but quality takes a dip after security I feel likeOffices, Labs and Manufacturing are pure kino though. Reactors was a bit of a slog, and residences sucked. I got real mad at fractures because of those jump things. Swear half the fucking time my character just skidded into the void for no reason
>>723612018I unironically feel like the first 3-4 hours in Offices are the absolutely peak of the game and nothing else really captures that original feeling of sneaking around scared, being genuinely nervous of night-time, and using a bunch of cobbled together weapons like a cafeteria tray as a shield with a knife taped to a pipe you found on the wallI’m still enjoying it like 100 hours later but I wish I could experience that again
>>723612967Yeah using taped up pens and blades as throwing knives and running through fog hill was great.Once you start dealing with Gatekeepers, quality goes down, because they are generally unfun to fight I feel like.Best part of Reactors was setting up a base in the comfy room in power services
>>723604662I didn't realize how much garbage data UE5 leaves in my VRAM. After I purge that shit I have to recompile shaders. Gonna take a nice long break from this game until it hits 1.2 or whatever.
>>723610389You barely scratched the surface, my dude. You will get weapons that are more effective against robots, by the way. So it's not all clubbing them for 5 minutes and dancing around their retaliation.
>>723610402can confirm
>>723610313... Isn't subnautica also not randomly generated?
>>723616532I assume he meant it as an example of survival games without random generation but phrased it weird. Because yeah, its world is preset.
It's pretty damn good and has soul. I didn't even find the later areas to be shit. Hydroplant was great due to being somewhat open and allowing "sequence breaking" more than the other areas. Reactors is a bit too combat heavy, but you can either cheese it with the crystal stealth armor or use the OP weapons you get by then. One of my biggest gripes about it is the starting location being too perfect for a base location. Because everything connects to the office lobby, I never felt any need whatsoever to build anything anywhere else. There are so many power outlets everywhere, they made me feel like I should build additional bases all over the facility.
