I cannot wait for 1 month after launch we get the usual
>"game development is really hard guys"
posts from 343 shitters.

Shout out to this fucking loser saying pic related, meanwhile speculating about the war in relation to crypto on his alt.

Gen AIs are absolute ass
Anytime I've tried to use one for genuine productivity purposes they have never managed to give me a correct or useful response
Only useful for generating glorified lorem ipsum paragraphs
>>
AI will unironically be good for gamers. You just have to play good ai games and not ai slop shovelware

It is perfectly possible to create a high quality game with many faultless generative AI systems integrated (can't make a story though, AIs cannot do this by meaning), and more or less possible to run on modern computers, complete with fuck huge maps.
It is likely vastly beyond their expertise, however.
Even the current ways AIs are trained are subpar.

I'm already not buying another Halo you don't need to convince me.

I’ve already been playing guitar for a few years. I practice about 2-3 hours per day and don’t play games at all unless my irl friends want to coop

mhmm yeah ok

Meh, let the AAA industry use AI. I was never going to buy their games anyway.

was 343 the first flagship dev to unapoligetically outsource huge vertical slices of their games that didn't fit together?

I'm sure they'll finally become good devs with AI

There's 1.5 billion indians, they're going to be at the top of nearly any statistic they're included in

>>
>>723609494
I’m assuming the % was because it was per capita, otherwise it would be a retarded graph like you said

Absolute numbers by themselves won't put you at the top if it's a per capta metric.

Per capita is a headcount, retards, and there are a lot of indian heads.

do you think that halo studios/343 could produce a good halo game even if they didn't use ai?

I fed Copilot a third party-generated PDF file containing several pages of commercial data in a table
Told it to give it to me in CSV
It managed to confidently spit out a CSV containing just TWO (2) completely hallucinated lines of what looked like someone's supermarket shopping list
>>
>>723609627
>Per capita is a headcount

Holy fuck you're fucking stupid.
>>
>>723607718
It isn't, and I'm a good example of that. I don't have a university degree certifying me as a software engineer or programmer. I'm not even American. I just know how to express myself in English and learned the basics of Python at Codecademy. Yet, I work as a programmer, thanks in part to Claude Code. So the problem is not so much generative AI, but rather that poorly qualified people are programming with the help of AI
>>
>>723607486
you know youll never be a woman, right?

Why are companies all demonstratively announcing that they will be using AI? Does this have any positive result?
>>
>>723607646
>"Don't you know [current thing] is happening right now? I can't do anything because I'm literally shaking"
This shit is so lame and gay. Yes, humanity has been in a state of endless warfare since Grug threw a rock at Thrug. Life goes on, especially if you're thousands of miles away, not like 343 Studios is anywhere near Eastern Erupe
>>
>>723610314
>companies
This example in particular is a tabloid journalist announcing a company is using AI and his source is an anonymous leaker, most of this guy's articles are the same garbage. It's pure unsubstantiated rumour. /v/ will say it hates journalists but will believe anything they say if it's a hot button topic, it's plausible enough that it wouldn't surprise anyone if it were true though.
>>
>>723609215
I don't think this is accurate. Most Indians don't even have internet access and almost every Amercian who has a real job that pays well uses AI nowdays to some extent. Fast food and retail employees need not apply.
>>
>>723610015
Agentic AIs are tools to supplement your own skills. You don't need an academic background to develop programs, all ypu need in interest in the subject matter.
>>
don’t think ai tools are inherently bad but this being microsoft I doubt it’s being used in a way that makes much sense
>>
>>723611081
AI tools are for saving time that are QC finalized by the oversight a skilled worker, they aren’t supposed to replace knowledge or skill

the video game industry has already been pumping out slop long before AI. I seriously can't even imagine how much worse it will be with supposed AI implementations

maybe writing will get better since AI seems to be generally pretty good at writing narratives

I recently finished my console collection. I pretty much own all of them. Still need to up the game collection, but eventually I will have thousands of games. Most of which I'll never have enough time to play anyway. When devs stop making anything that appeals to me I'll just cancel my internet service provider and go off grid with my collection of games and data. So, basically I'm not going to pick up an new hobby. I'm just going to become a hermit person.
>>
>>723609940
Same, actually. This is what Kurzweil made his money on and gemini can't fucking do it.
>>
>>723607486
So could we just keep telling the Microsofts AI all the talking points of what went right with Bungie and what went wrong with 343i from Halo video essays, and then the AI will tell the Indians how to make a good Halo game?

Enough indians have internet access that it's double the population of the entire united states, and half of that number uses chatgpt regularly. Three more indians come online for the first time for every second that passes.
>>
>>723608259
The best use of AI in any case is to have it generate a skeleton of what you want, and to adjust it for your needs. Any complicated task has a high risk of it not doing exactly as you need it to/it getting confused with bad data
