How do you cope with the fact that it became a cult classic loved by millions of people despite /v/'s best efforts?
I'm /v/ and I loved that game from day 1.
The game fucking sucks, and I can't stand how everyone speaks like a wigger and acts all tough.
>>723697576>cult classic I don't think Popular = Cult classic and it's an 8/10 at best
>>723697576>cult classic>sold over 30 million copies
ah, a cult classic just like Dark Souls
>>723697576>forever enshrined with a crowbcat vidhow do u cope with that?
I simply enjoyed the game and didn't read reddit tier criticisms
Even when it was buggy af it was still decent. It wasnt anything special though.
i tried it but it was boring as shit
>already all that shazamtroon seetheKWAB.
>>723697576Was fine on pc at or near release. Was good for a replay after PL. Solid game, nothing more to say about it. >/v/ is one personWould really like to see another Shadowrun, crpg or otherwise.
>>723697576>cult classicYou have zero idea what that means. Stop using words you don't really know.
>>723698485>Was fine on PCGet the fuck out of here. I played this day one, and there's never been a game more fucked up. You were lucky if characters moved their mouths when they talked, didn't slide around T-posing.This shit wasn't even in alpha when it released, it was like a concept of a game, a theory, the idea of a game. It came to somebody in a nightmare.
I enjoy it. It's taken Skyrim's place as the big open world RPG I get the itch to play through every year in the late fall/winter.
>>723697576It was always a movie with gameplay elements, for an actual video game its a 2/10 at best, the story is generic cybertroonslop with high budget
A "cult classic" among brainless normalfags who had to be loudly screamed at that they have to like the game because Trigger made a rushed mediocre anime.
>>723697576I have literally never seen anyone talk about this game ever, outside of its awful launch state.
>>723697576Define these "people"
>>723698804Kill yourself console faggot.
>>723697576They fixed it and released a good DLC so I think its rebound was earned. I would have preferred the game be good at launch but I waited until 2.0 came out before I bought it and that was the right call.I just wish they'd do a second DLC. I know it's unlikely, but the fact that the game is still receiving patches that add in new features tells me that CDPR might be putting together a team to make another DLC. Maybe not as big as Phantom Liberty, but something big enough to tide us over until Cyberpunk 2 comes out.
>>723699463Good argument. Played on PC btw. A better one than you had, nigger. You probably haven't upgraded since then. Get a job.
Cyberpunk has the best open world of any game ever and I'm tired of pretending it doesn't
>>723699167It doesn't feel remotely anything like Skyrim, the horrendous and confusing UI is probably the reason
>>723697576Nothing to cope with. Everything other than the gameplay was great to begin with, and they fixed it with 2.0. That's a good thing. The Shazaamniggers were BTFO, though.
>>723697576people mainly like the cyberpunk setting since no one is really doing that.If anything came along and made an actual non terrible cyberpunk rpg with third person everyone would dunk on cyberpunk and praise the new game instead.
>>723697576I am the entirety of /v/ as one person and I have always liked the game. I was only disappointed at how much more it could have been.
I don't think something is a cult classic when it's loved by millions of people. "Cult" implies something more niche, you know?
I cope with alcohol and rugs. Yes, this game I wanted to fail actually didn't, and that made me become a desolate husk of a man, raging at the world and destroying my life slowly but surely. How oculd this have happened?
>>723699867He never said it was like Skyrim
>>723697576played the game at launch and laughed my ass off at all of the random bugs and glitches.Just a few months ago I got it again just to see what it was like and it was a very disappointing experience. The story is fine and the world is really cool visually, but it felt pretty lifeless and boring and doing anything outside of missions felt like a waste of time. Game would’ve been genuinely pretty good if the combat was better and there were more random events and shit happening without your direct input
>>723699998Whats your favorite kind of rug?
>>723697654Game is mediocre at best. Could've been much more
>>723697576>2077 is -52 years agoI don't feel so good bros
>>723697576cope? its an electronic toy that is also a good-enough rendering of the pen and paper rpg, something no other team tried to do with this pen and paper titlewhy would I be mad? I was actually hoping it inspired others to also pursue cyberpunk themed games
>>723700118Coulda woulda shoulda.Still fun.
>>723697576I love this game
>>723697576what do you mean 'cult classic'it is a massively popular good gamePeople still play it a lot because everything that came after it in a similar genre has been worse
Yup it's great. Only retards hate it.
>>723699167how? you can't do anythng except quests and gigs
>>723697576It's a fantastic game with great characters, a really cool setting, a good story and sexy women. /v/ just shat their pants because one of the optional side missions is about a trans character, therefore the entire game is RUINED somehow
Bought the dlc cheap 2 weeks ago, the dlc was awesome, played the main game at release, it was okay. Skipped that and went straight to dlc so assuming it's still just okay.
>>723697576The issue was with the games bugs and whatnot. I find the people that actually complain about the story or gameplay to be minor in comparison. If you can get over the bugs it's just a futuristic dystopian Bethesda game. But like old Bethesda not Starfield Bethesda.
It's a passable game, like the outer worlds. The writing is very reddit and I find myself just tuned out most of the time. The in game radio and driving both absolutely fucking suck, so I just fast travel and airdash everywhere.
>>723697576what does cult classic mean
>>723702970typically some game launches with poor sales, but due to some underlying quality that isnt superceded by another game people keep playing it and recommending it to othersso popularity after the monetization window closed up and no sequel was made
>>723697576I played it both at launch and now playing phantom liberty on my 5090. They’ve massively improved it and it’s a lot more fun to play. One of the most immersive and emotional games I’ve ever played.
when are they going to release redkit?
>>723697696What's wrong with an 8/10?
>>723702970Popular with a massive following over a longer period of time. It doesn't actually mean obscure necessarily. Star Wars is a cult classic.
Unironically a 10/10, but I'll give it a 9/10 because everything needs room to grow.
>>723697576>cult classicIt's still Chungus Elba slop. It's just that people liked the cartoon and photo mode mods. Kinda like Witcher, nobody actually enjoys playing this shallow FPS and if you get people talking about the story the conversation always boils down to hating on the false urgency plot and poorly written endings. It's just a mediocre game and there's no fixing that since they failed to provide the modding tools on time. It's still buggy btw. Every other patch breaks something new. The other month they had a catastrophic asset streaming fuckup that made this shit crash more often than at release. Also bikes get bugged up every other patch, from exhaust fumes to sound to riding/parked lean anims getting switched etc.
>>723697576I don't care either way but I don't think that true
>>723697696>>723703930it's a solid 5
>>723704738>poorly written endings.Lol fuck off retard.
>>723704814They're peak kurwaslop and borderline cut content (keanu chungus ChatGPT plotline got written in a year - he wasn't part of the game in 2018) and it shows.
>>723697576this one i can at least see the appeal in, the fact that straight enshittifications of the original games - silksong and elden ring - are classic even on /v really tells me how far the standards have dropped.
>>723697771who?
did they remove some of the visual effects from the 1.0 version, it had that GTA SA feel to it
>>723700118Or just play it for what it is.
>>7237063562D sprite cars are still in the game
Heres my honest unbiased opinion on the game. Keep in mind I only played through it once.... well twice if you count my restart after getting Keanu stuck in my head. I tried playing Male V street kid first but found his crying and moaning about his death sentence too gay and switched to Fem V street kid, it became more bearable after that. It's a 5.5/10 game with great visuals and vibes. The gameplay is fun at times and I enjoyed the leveling path I chose (stealth, pistol crits, hacking and cybernetics too). Some guns felt fun. Stealth at the start was fun but as most games with stealth added into it, it became broken as you just oneshot guys or completely circumvent encounters. The story was okay. I didn't come into the game expecting a 100% free form RPG where I created a character from scratch and had full autonomy of their story. I was expecting something more like the Witcher, a predetermined character in which I got to steer in certain directions at points but was largely already pre-built. I get how lots of people were upsetti about how structured it was. I just played the character how I thought a street kid with a death sentence would act and it wasn't bad. Keanu.... was Keanu. His wooden robotic bad acting made his bits feel more schizophrenic and kind of enjoyable at some points. The game world had a nice vibe but definitely felt like an early 2000s game in the sense that your in this massive city but you can only got to a few bars, stores, and quest locations. It was pretty disappointing but didn't ruin the game for me. I didn't mind the ending either, it kinda fits the overall vibe of the entire game and setting. I got the one where V, Johnny, rogue and friends storm arasaka tower. Rogue dies and Johnny sacrifices himself to let V have a little bit more time. I liked it.I didn't play the Xpac so I have zero comment on that.
>>723707163they were bullied so hard they had to switch to ue5 kek
>>723697576it insists upon itselfthe writing is not goodslaps your face constantly with>le technology is so advanced>you can pimp you anus with the latest 3d printed dildoit insists upon itself
>>723707398Oh and I gotta say one of the biggest feel bad moments in the game for me was the slide show of all the cool shit my character did but I didn't get to play. It really almost made me Uninstall it.
>>723697576what 'efforts'?
Knife throwing builds are fun
>>723697576I'm playing it right now and it's literally just "alright". Wonderful time sink but it's some of the most surface level vidya out there.
>>723707837>it insists upon itselfliterally using a quote from family guy thats meant to be a insult to critics lmao
>>723708074it's a Ubisoftlike with a slightly more engaging dialogue and more bugs
>>723697576It's nowhere near a cult classic. Standard triple A sloppa eaten up by the piggies
>>723708420>Ubisoftlike
I just know that shazam lost, he has been real quite ever since this went the opposite of his prediction
> /v/ is still assblasted because they fell for 6 years of hype and propaganda and pre-ordered the gameGame is fine. Plus it's free.
It's an incredibly shallow celebrity worship vehicle for normalfaggots
>>723708467game is still niggershit tho
I don't get the hype over it still, it's a sidequest simulator of "Enter building, kill everyone, loot stuff, leave, GIG CLOSED" whenver you decide to take a break from handholding main missions.Unironically should have been a mission based game instead.
when it released i laughed at it, when it got patched i played it and enjoyed it. max win for me
>>723697576that shit's mainstream slophaha
>>723697576I cope with my pre-tank Pan Am mission save.
>>723697576>copeI like the game. I'm happy it's getting a sequel and hope they learn a lot of lessons from the issues with the first one.
It's a good FPS but it's not an RPG
Im a bit into it already and all im gonna complain about is how GTA like it is in a way theres no need to have a build, you'll just naturally get super powerful no matter what. CP 2 should have better combat and RPG mechanics if it ever happens
The anime is better.
>>723697576I like it, quite a bitI do wish the open world had a bit more stuff to do though. You're either doing main/side gigs or just roaming around. Not many random encounters and not many activities you can do outside of that
>>723698485>Was fine on pc at or near releaseNo it fucking wasn't. Mindboggingly buggy and systems so shit they got removed from the game entirely through patching.
>>723697576>a cult classica cult classic is something loved by a few despite it's weakness, cyberslop is an overhyped sloppa deluxe for the average mouthbreather
>>723697576>it became a cult classic loved by millionsLet's be real, 95% of fans just loved the shitty anime.
>>723697654I bought it day one as well and have played it for over a thousand hours. Never hated it. But I don't go out of my way to defend it either because being passionate about shit is lame.
>>723697654FPBP
>>723711618first anime i ever watched and i loved it. i also love that it makes faggets seethe
I waited like 3+ years to play it, so all the bugs were fixed by then. I thought it was quite good. It's weak as an immersive sim, but strong as a story based first person action RPG. A few design decisions were retarded, like not letting male V fuck the asian bitch.
>>723712973The anime is overrated slide show crap, and just as terrible as evangeli-shit was. The only people who like that shit are surface level secondaries. Gainax animations were never good, and Studio Triggered carried on that legacy. Always liked the game tho.
>>723697576It's a nice tech demo and it's a damn fucking shame the sequel is going to be freaking unrealslop
>>723711618The anime is incredibly mid.I don't even hate animu in general and was willing to give it a chance but dear fucking god do weebs have no standards whatsoever?
>>723697576>/v/>effort
>>723713469Yeah, real shame about the unreal engine. But I think CDPR was already falling off with Cyberpunk. Witcher 4 looks like shit so that probably means Orion was going to be shitty regardless of whatever engine they used.
>>723697576>How do you cope with the fact thatWith the fact that millions upon millions of dollars spent on marketing and ads and fake videos work better for the general niggercattle "gamer" population than making an actual quality game? (they spent more money on marketing than on the game itself)Well, I'm really struggling, but I already accepted it
>>723713491What you posted has nothing to do with Edgerunners. The anime is nice, Trigger did good work on it.
>>723713491It's not even really weebs who like it. The people who like Studio Trigger anime aren't really into anything other than, "what is the most popular thing". You know the type, faggots who watch Hero Academia, Attack on Titan and One Punch, dumb shit like that.
>>723713646It was a decent game getting an extremely cheap copy off of ebay after all the updates
>>723697576I wish i could replay this game with a bunch of mods but Johnny just ruins it for me desu
>>723713805>popular thing bad
>>723713898In this case, yeah. Those things are rubish and studio trigger appeals directly to that crowd.
>>723713938Have you ever considered that you are the one with bad taste and everyone else has good taste?
>>723706172https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omyoJ7onNrgI had most of the stuff shown in the video (and even more). I literally witnessed all of it myself (except the console shit, that's a whole other problem, the game didn't even work on consoles at all)Also this game exposed a MASSIVE problem with sellout "bloggers" and "journalists". Because Polish cybershit niggers bought out EVERYONE. All of the bloggers were saying that THIS GAME IS ABSOLUTELY BUG FREE AND RUNS WELL I SAW IT WITH MY VERY EYES IT'S A VERY POLISHED GAME GUYS IT'S A 10/10 GAME I SWEARAnd then the game came out. Some of them tried to backpedal saying absolutely insane stuff like "the game that they shown us was better I swear I don't know why it came out like this", but most of them stayed silent and never mentioned their 10/10 previews of the gameAnd no one remembers it now anyway so it never happened and now it's a 10/10 game for some reason even though it's still a shallow retarded and bad game with all the gameplay mechanics being lazily made
>>723714057I did, but then I realized the quality of entertainment in anime and manga was decreasing and I had to draw some conclusions. It's not even a controversial opinion if you've been watching anime for decades.
>>723697576I have come to terms with the fact that 90+ % of the world's population has dogshit taste in media.
>>723714245Well yeah, that's why so much of it exists. People will buy anything.
>>723711618It was pretty forgettable
>>723714160Attack on Titan is objectively a good anime in terms of story and animation, MHA and OPM I couldn't care less about because of the audience it appeals to but from what I did watch, I enjoyed it.Real trash anime is all the isekai crap that gets thrown up like vomit every week. Try watching Delicious in Dungeon if you think studio trigger is bad.
>>723714120Buy an ad.
>>723714160Yeah. Anime that were lambasted in the 90s for having generic stories and looking cheap feel like masterpieces compared to everything from 2010 onward.
>>723714564Nostalgia glasses. There were far less good anime back then and far less bad anime, we just remember the good ones. Overall, the animation quality was worse. This is just a fact.
>>723714386I agree with your latter statement. Isekai is a fucking blight on the industry. All of it is hot garbage. The concept itself has annoys me, I don't like it in other mediums either (cs lewis comes to mind)
>>723697654>/v/ is one personso you are the legendary anon everyone talks about
>>723714120I swear at least 70% of /v/ population straight up got offed by black ops because it seems like no one remembers just how much of a shitstorm that whole thing was.Hell no one even remembers the "muh movement shooter" webm shill guy and parodies of him are being taken at face value whenever posted
>>723714613Retard take. The resolution was worse, not the quality. Animation quality on average was much more fluid and elaborate. Then the economy bubble burst and budgets plummeted. Now most anime aren't even produced in japan anymore, because it's cheaper to do it in korea or china (soon india).Compare the original Ranma 1/2 with the recent remake.
>>723699867>the horrendous and confusing UI is probably the reasonSure, cause Skyrim didn't have a god awful UI that justifies the public execution of its designer
>>723715009Strange how Bubble era anime sometimes looks wonkier/worse than Depression era 90s anime.
>>723715074Skyrims was simple and usable. Everything did what it needed to do, functionally, it was x100 better than cyberpunk. Visually it was horrible, that's why we use SkyUI
>>723715123Slop always existed. But on average anything from the 90s beats what is being released now.At least in the 90s even slop anime had hand drawn backgrounds.
>>723715263Sloppa's sloppa, yeah, but I chalk it up to animators and artists finally settling in with their tools to produce consistent and good looking stuff. Then the Digital era hit, lmao.
>>723704803out of 5
>>723715538out of 10 actually very mediocre Far Crylike
>>723715601Shut up nigger. You did play throught the serial rapist questline?
>>723697576It's great, the feeling of power from Level 1 to 50 is insane. Although I didn't particularly find the DLC that much better than the main game. Fantastic soundtrack that I don't see people speak about.
>>723715153if you really think that Skyrims UI, one that has you scrolling through a sigle file list of all your Items like a one column excel page in a fucking RPG, was a good idea, then im even surprised you have the IQ necessary to complete a captcha. I will agree that CP77 UI is trash, but what you've just said is insane.
>>723697576The public's opinion isn't worth shit if it can be flipped with a few spaced out marketing campaigns.
