>>723760238I played the original when the fan-translation came out, and it was fucking amazing.

>>723761038>>723761137A couple of these aren't a bad change. Like ponytail labcoat in the middle.>>723761198This one is just painful. Also, I've seen some of this posted on here many times, (including videos of the saucer on the table scene), but this is the first I'm seeing that elf chicks are involved. Whatever this game is somehow gets more interesting over time.
>>723761336She has no ass on the right, literally looks like Hank hill.
>>723760238Which smartphone do you have?It can't be that bad, right?

>>723761336The girl is less thicc, and the guy looks like a faggot in the nu version.
>>723760238the remake anime was awful but in a kino way, I miss watching it with /a/
>>723765323>he watched the fanfic AD for the gameimagine spoiling yourself with a shitty version, sad

>>723761038>>723761137>>723761198>>723761264>>723761336This is like the perfect embodiment of the SOUL/soulless dichotomy
>>723760238The best part is the absolute banger soundtrack. Actual game has a lot of meandering, repeat sequences and bullshit pixel hunting. If you are going to play it, play it with a guide or be prepared to waste a lot of time.
>>723760238I haven't played the remake but it looks absolutely soulless compared to everything in the original. Butchering the Ryu Umemoto music alone is more than enough justification to skip it.The original is questionably good but it's certainly memorable, especially after the 'halfway' point (really more like 80% into the game). It was ahead of its time on some things, like having the game flowchart exist in-universe and having a justified reason for it being there
It's a flawed gem but man, the original is magical
>>723761038>>723761137>>723761198>>723761264>>723761336honestly, the remake is old enough to be considered soulful at this point
>>723764105That's water, not her but crack
>>723760238tried the saturn version like a decade ago, just a giant memory hole to me
>>723760238I need to replay thisAlso you can play it on your phone now, there was a pc-98 translation that your phone should be able to emulate. You don't get to hear Link talk but I assume it's still pretty funhttps://baba-jpc.neocities.org/translations/yuno/yuno>>723768153It's not that old and it's not soulful at all. OST is an okay remix to be fair
>>723760238I don't like it. It has some moon logic puzzles that can't be solved without a guide and also it has weird route flowcharts. 10/10 music, 10/10 art, 7/10 story, 3/10 gameplay.
>>723769623ehh never mind I just gave it a try Maybe it's because I used retroach version of Neko project ii or maybe it's because I needed to use the Kai verison But it's super bugged out, on Android anyway
Pseud coomer faggot shit.
>>723761264>Save mom from getting raped >She slaps you>She gets raped for real>Cuts her own wrist and diesWhat the fuck is wrong with her?
>>723768007I was honestly enjoying it way more before the final route but it was still worth the time to experience. The entire other world segment is so long I swore it was wrapping up but it just kept going and the length fatigue was a factor but the ADV gameplay was actually pretty fun and it's gone.
>>723771986Best gaming experience of my life I thought it was like 10 minutes long and got something like the same length as the main game. Weird feeling playing something where you have literally no idea when it will end in the slightest, as every estimate you make keeps getting BTFO
>>723770650The worst thing about it was how you could miss a gem because you didn't click on some random point in the screen so you had to redo a whole route just to have another chance to get it.
>>723771764I hated that dopey bitch by the end of her route. Fucking braindead idiot.
>gets away with everything
>>723760238The gameplay is underappreciated, even if its dragged down by the "click everything twice to progress" standard of the era. Collecting more gems to leave at important points so that you can experiment more to find out how to get on the more complicated routes is great design. I really wish a game would copy and expand on this system while removing all the annoying pixel hunting and random wandering to trigger arbitrary flags. It's a shame that people are recommended guides to skip all the exploration but visual novel fans don't want gameplay and most people who want adventure gameplay aren't going to read through hours of text; YU-NO is a massive victim of its niche.
>>723760238The fan translation is good and since it has both the PC98's superior graphics and music and also the Saturn port's voice acting it really is the optimal way of playing the game.
>>723761038>>723761137>>723761198>>723761264>>723761336>guy who's done a very distinct art for Ar Tonelico gets forced to draw generic shitwhat's even the point of hiring him?
