>Here's 2 giant bosses bro at the same time bro
>They hit hard even with a lot of vigor
>They have big hit-boxes
>They're also fast
>They also immediately step-back/dodge every time you try to attack like every other 2nd enemy in this game
>Oh they also have big-ass AOEs
>Oh and also they sometimes attack you at the same time(was even worse before a patch as I've heard)
>Also, they spew poison that moves fast as fuck that also damages you while you're occupied with one of them because why not

This genuinely has to be the worst Boss Fight in a Souls-game that I've ever played. Actually bottom 5. I've never had less fun Fighting a boss before. These motherfuckers have everything. It's like Fromsoft couldn't think of anything actually unique or original, so they just decided to throw every obnoxious thing at the wall all in one Boss Fight because "le hard". I was actually mostly enjoying the game quite a bit until this. Shoving in basically everything I dislike about the game into one fight really hampered my enjoyment.

I agree, t. 900 hours in ER.
Theyre optional however but new players wont know that

Reddit banned this, so I am putting this here.
Also: Fuck ER. Fuck rollslop. This stuff was foreseeable as early as DS2. You brought this on yourself and From will now keep shitting ever more obvious fanservice turds. Next Stop: Pay2win mechanics and managebale save slot files making the games feel ever more like mobile games. Enjoy, pigs.

Yeah I was stuck here for a while, it actually forced me to respec. Once you do enough damage to kill one of them before the second shows up it's easier

>Elden ring is le bad
I would expext /v/ to be contrarian but not this contrarian
>>
>>723816952
That's what I'm about to do. After I level up a bit more and get better/more Spirit Ashes. This is the most trouble I've had with a boss in this game, have like 50+ deaths at the moment, and I actually just don't care to do it solo anymore. Just want to get it over with.
>>
>>723816326
Going through Nokron lets you skip several boss fights to get into Leyndell and a second path into Nokstella that dodges Ranni's quest, so this is the trade off.
Regardless, you should be able to blitz down the first Gargoyle pretty fast before the fight gets tricky.
Blunt damage is your friend in this fight. Same with just summoning a spirit ash.
>>
It's just a DPS check. All you need to do is do enough damage to kill one of them before the second shows up
>>
Just use the mimic tear, you get it right before this blood for a reason.
>>
>>723816326
You're not wrong. They are absolutely dogshit. These enemies are just anal cancer to fight to begin with, two of them is just twice as bad.
>>
>>723816326
It is funny to me that the boss killed you so many times that you came here to make a thread. I've been there myself. I swear the most random bosses in Souls games piss me off to no end. I think Malekith killed me like 20+ times but I beat most other bosses in like 2-3 tries.
>>
>>723816326
git gud?
literally no ones complained about these guys before. they're so very doable.
>>
>health
>damage
>speed
Pick 3 and you've got a shit boss.
>>
>>723818196
That was Elden Beast for me.
Of course Malenia and Consort Radahn shit on me, but that is to be expected.
But for some reason, Elden Beast gave me a ton of trouble.
>>
>>723816326
this must have been one of the last encounters they designed for the base game because every boss in SOTE is like this too lol
>>
>>723817839
no you don't understand the developers put hundreds of man hours into developing abilities and weapons with the intention that you'd NEVER use them because using them is wrong because uhhhh because i say it is
>>
>>723820005
Honestly a lot of ER boss design is trending towards MMO style where you're basically intended to play as a team with summons or spirit ashes and take on a fixed role in the squad instead of trying to be the one man hero.
Nightreign is pretty demonstrative of where the series seems to be heading.

Of course you can beat a boss like Consort Radahn on your own, but doing it with a few summoned allies makes the fight flow much better rather than being a panicky grind.

There's several more points in the game that will be just like this, so make sure you use everything the game offers you to make yourself stronger. Ash Summons, upgrades, weapons, wondrous physick, perfumes etc.

Also looking at a wiki page for how buffing works is useful, too.
To simplify, you're allowed any combination of talisman buffs permanently.
Then you're allowed one buff on your weapon, one on any shield, one on your actual body (typically a damage negation or attack buff consumable or spell), and then a magic buff (mainly Golden Vow), and separately you're allowed to have HP and Stamina regen from items in addition to all of the above.

So you could stack together an HP regen spell, a Turtle Neck for stamina, Crab for damage resist, Golden Vow, and buff your sword and shield.
But you couldn't, for example, combine the Crab and a lightning protection Liver, or Golden Vow and the O'Neill's halberd buff.
All of the above can go with any combo of talismans without issue.
DLC bosses feel like they're built around you knowing this system very well.
>>
>>723822929
Your physick works in addition to this and (almost) any buff from the physick can stack with any of the above without overwriting it.
The exception is the HP regen tear, taking up the HP regen slot.

DPS check would have been fine if they didn't dothat stupid poison gas move and jump back a million miles away

Never had much issues with them, at that point I'm always kinda overleveled.

You have summons for a reason.

I think my opinion is very widespread among people who have started with either DeS or DaS. Liking DaS2 and onward, with it's excessive combat focus, was considered contrarian up until the release of ER.

Elden ring is not a good game tho? Just because u don't like the direction miazaki went dosent reduce the quality of the end product

I beat them once without ashes to prove to myself that I could do it. Every other playthrough after the first, I just use ashes, such a piece of shit enemy.
>>
>>723825739
Comparing ER to most other games it's great. And I can see why newcomers love it. Where it my first Souls game I think I'd consider it the best game ever.
But after having seen the series' trajectory, I can only view it as the culmination of every missstep taken.
And everything it does to differentiate itself from previous entries (Having a map to fill out, a wide open-world, a summonable mount, etc.) gets it closer to modern homoginized game-design.
>>
>>723816326
What's the rest of your bottom 5 list, anon?
>>
>>723816326
It's funny that they made a DPS check bossfight with the most anti DPS enemy design ever:
-slender lanky legs as only hittable area
-they take big steps and move around when they attack
-immune to status
-ranged lingering AoEs
>>
>>723827347
>gets it closer to modern homoginized game-design.
DS3 had already taken the series 90% of the way there, Elden Ring merely completed the last 10%.

Although I think you are exagerating, I generally agree.
Looking back, I would argue however this was starting to take root with the second half of DaS and became noticable with BB and DaS2. DaS3 made it painfully obvious and most early adopters where so disenfranchised by then, they left. When ER came around, the newcomers flooded in, irreversibly transforming the community and what was considered the status-quo opinion on what the ideal Souls should be: The first half of DaS. But From isn't even attempting something like that and has neglected it for so long, the average souls-player isn't even demanding them to anymore.

That's the kind of dysgenic manchild making a scene about elden ring bosses not staying static and having more than two attacks.

The worst part is poison killing your FPS, completely unfair
>>
>>723816326
the only problem with this fight was that for like an entire year the particle effects on the poison gas and the waterfall would take a shit on the engine's framerate no matter what your build was.

How comes I didn't run into that kind of issue on my outdated base vanilla standard last gen release date ps4?

Oh yeah, mustard rice problem.
