To answer your question most people don't actually play games to have fun, and this is especially a problem with mobile (that spread to real platforms because of pubg) because of the Chinese.
The Chinese literally DO NOT have a concept for why cheating is wrong, and I mean that as literally as possible.

alright whatever, I will entertain you my friend. people hack in video games mostly because they hate losing and also hate grinding. there's a lot I could say but I'll try to keep it simple. based on what i've noticed personally over the years and not just assumptions; a lot of hackers do it because they hold a resentment for both the developers of the game and also the playerbase of the game, but are also addicted to the game. this is the most simple way to put it.

basically you have to be severely mentally ill and have a very unhealthy relationship with other people and also video games to end up as a hacker in an online video game
