30 bucks has always been my limit, and even then the game needs to be AMAZING for me to pay even that much.

Last time I paid that much, I got the entire Yakuza 1-6 collection for 35.

If retailers know that reducing flat prices by one cent makes products more enticing to buy, what makes you think reducing a game's price by $10 won't work
>>
It's more than just the extra 10 dollars. I didn't buy games for 60 bucks either.

Games used to be 60, on sale for 45/40, 30, 20/15. Now games have started to bottom out at 30, after being out for several years, but usually stop around 45.

older games cost less and also run faster and look better without TAA dither slime

i don't know if this thing was common in america back in the day but in my country there were a lot of foreigners even shops that sold you pirated copies of the games (most of them were normal CDs with the rom of the game installed in it). Even in the DS era finding a R4 was really easy

I genuinely don't see the problem because games not made by Nintendo can and will go on discount mere months after their release. Anyone who doesn't want to pay msrp will wait for a sale. This is how it works everywhere else. Hell it's how it's already been working here for decades.
If you want to play on release then you have to determine if the full price tag is worth that.

That'll be 47.69 cents after tax. Next is your labor cost of gutting the bread, assembling the sandwich and slicing it for portions.

You better want another sandwich in about a week as well or half the ingredients will be wasted.

Maybe in 2010 before they jacked deli meat prices but not anymore.

Deli meat is at least $12 per pound at a local grocery.
Half pound is 6, assuming you're running 5 selections of meat and cheese for a varied sub that's at least 30 dollars and that's not getting into all the fixxxins like good pickles and bread. I suppose you're right that you can cut some out by not going to a bakery, but then that's an added day on the prep to proof the dough and make it from scratch if you will.

What's the point if you're not getting fresh.

The thing that pisses me off, is that poor people will still pay 80, 90 fucking dollars for games. they live paycheck to paycheck, have credit card debt, whine on tiktok about their hungry kids, yet they go out to eat every day, have nice iphones, and spend like 600 dollars a month on entertainment and discretionary subscriptions.

Poor people can't wait 4 fucking months for the price to drop in half. There's so much free entertainment to have out there, there's no reason to spend like this unless of course you have the disposable income.

Even retards on /v/ will spam "lol what are you poor!" meanwhile they also live almost paycheck to paycheck and have no emergency fund in place.

Times are objectively worse now dont get it mixed with people not being able to manage their money.
Of course they do the same mistake of blaming everything on their environment while doing nothing to mitigate it.

Still. Food more expensive, utilities more expensive, insurance more expensive. It sucks. The weird thing is that people seem to get more wasteful with their money as times get worse and things get more expensive.
You'd expect the opposite to happen.

Even when I worked minimum wage, I managed to pay off a good chunk of my student loans and save up like 14k. I worked all the overtime I could, I had 2 roommates in a ghetto ass house, I almost never spent on discretionary spending, I literally ate beans and eggs and rice and shit.

And I literally went like 1.5 years where I practically didn't have a single day off because I had school and clinicals 5 days a week, and worked on the weekends, and sold all of my PTO. Now I have a really good paying job, not because I got lucky, but I fucking earned it.

Poor people will just work the minimum at work, never try to get a better job because "I JUST WANT TO ENJOY MY YOUTH, OKAY!" and spend every extra penny they have on fucking starbucks, then sneer at me like I'm somehow an evil greedy fuck.

Yeah, that's fair. But at the same time, I would try to give financial advice to my struggling coworkers (like 2 years after covid so not too long ago) and they had so many ways they could have tightened their belt but absolutely acted like I was an insane monster for telling them to not spend 90 dollars a month on fucking cell phone data. And this would be single people that had apartments all to themselves. I'd tell them to at least get a roommate, and they'd just say "LOL I JUST LIKE MY PRIVACY, OKAY, I'M JUST WEIRD LIKE THAT!" Well that's your choice, but don't fucking sneer at me when you are working at 80 years old.

It was clinicals for being an xray tech. Which is DEFINITELY not that high paying of a job. And you literally have to do 1800 hours of clinicals for your license, which amounts to about 1.5 years alternating between 3 and 5 days a week. I still saved up enough to pay off student loans shortly after getting my job.

Xray techs make MAYBE 48k an hour out of school if you're lucky. I still was able to save up for a REALLY nice house after 5 years of investing every penny I could. Other xray techs would whine about living paycheck to paycheck.
