These guys are so fun to fight
They have good defense
Decent offense, and a large enough hp to take several hits

It's the only enemy that felt like a fair duel between two bugs, and yeah I agree I fucking hate that there is no boss version of this enemy, this guy singlehandedly carries silksong for me honestly
>>
Peak enemy, the only redeeming quality of silksong

I’m so fucking sick is flying enemies moving backwards while attacking, or moving up because you jumped.

>>
I like them but they have zero ways of dealing with you in the air
>>
I just went through the entire bestiary to try and refute this and I couldn't. Closest I could get was the Judges in Blasted Steps and maybe a handful of the Coral Tower enemies.

Bilewater tribesmen enemies are cool.
The flying guards in citadel with the spear throw

The ant enemy roster is generally really fun to fight in a group
>>
>>723876715
Yeah those are ok
I actually like the ants more than scissorman but OP said
>never introduces a better regular enemy after you encounter this guy
and those are encountered beforehand, so I couldn't include them
I guess technically I could pretend I skipped Hunter's March so that I can count the skarrs
>>
>>723868734
Video should be updated to showcase them being able to burrow through the floor and ceiling to reach you if you're above or below them
>>
>>723877018
Problem for me is that the scissor guys are rarely fought in more than 1v1s.

Citadel enemies, while individually weaker (apart from the flying guys) are fought in groups and are enjoyable for this reason.

The whole group of pilgrims (and the occasional clawmaiden) must be taken into account.
>>
Why the fuck was there no boss version of the scissorbug?? Wasted potential man

>DUDE LIKE, YOU CAN'T POGO WITH THE HUNTER CREST, THE REAPER IS THE BEST

>>
>>723877201
This is true.
The only time you fight a scissor guy with an ally is when there are 2 of them in the reaper chapel, and even then the AI will likely have one of the scissorguys burrow into the roof so it's one at a time.

>>
>>723877563
I still haven't used any of the crests I got outside of the reaper for the door guard because I kept flubbing the runback with the hunter down attack and my silk economy was atrocious.

I probably wont play with the crests until I play again or something I have no idea what the tool tips are trying to tell me. For example I just awakened??? the hunter crest and now something something it somethings???? Looks like a bar fills up and then something when the bar is full???
>>
>>723877937
when bar is full you hit harder
when you get hit, bar is empty again
>>
>>723877563
Hunters pogo is dog shit for a lot of boss fights because you get a way smaller window to land it because you need to react way sooner meaning you get less hits in. Really fucking awkward design, you’d think hunter would be what everything is designed around but they you swap to reaper or wayfarer and it’s far easier. The passive is also a just don’t get hit ever lmao which good for you if you’ve always got it up.
>>
>>723868734
If I had to pick my favorite enemy in Silksong, it wouldn't be one with an AI that doesn't know to react to being poggoed to death.

Greymoor was so kino, it reminded me alot of the fishing hamlet in bloodborne. Impeccable atmosphere, I can't decide if I like it or bilewater more
>>
>>723883584
I got annoyed that pogoing him didn't damage him until I put 2 and 2 together that pogoing is for repositioning, not damage. I am a retarded who only see reward in the white damage flash and ignores everything else

>>723883792
Bilewater took time for me to like. Ironically I took to liking Bilewater after I killed Groal. Then I started noticing the story of the location rather than just being mad that I hadn't seen a bench in forever
>>
>>723883947
Many such cases. Most of the complaints about the game are from people that are mechanistically fixated in progression and aren't paying attention to environmental cues or dietetic narrative. That walk into a room and are mad that there's an ambush without ever noticing the pile of corpses all around.

Once you start experiencing the game rather than just playing it, it improves immensely.

Everyone's most-hated enemy is the flying bellheads in Deep Docks that throw bombs at you, right? Does ANYONE actually like them? Feels like Team Cherry outdid Primal Aspids ten times over.
>>
>>723877876
They're different games with different mechanics. Hornet is much faster and more agile than the Knight and it's reflected in Silksong's combat balance. The Knight is tankier and, towards the endgame, has better zone control, so is less focused on mobility.

You can make combat in Silksong more like Hollow Knight's by equipping the Wanderer's Crest, but that doesn't change Hornet's inherent fragility. She's meant to be played in a dodge/parry style regardless of her specific attack moveset.

I like them both but I would have preferred if late game Silksong offered more durability options, especially with the sheer damage output of Act III enemies.
>>
>>723873070
Yeah Greymoor was a mood. Not flashy or impressive, but it hit right.
>>
Can you not recruit BOTH Garmond and Shakra to fight the Choir with you?
>>
>>723884241
Well I think that can be a good thing, at least to people who actually like video games. I firmly believe games should "do don't tell." If the narrative is that a place is hostile then the place should feel hostile. And while I do think Silksong is a hard game, there's nothing so bad that you can't see what you did wrong, which is the good kind of difficulty. It was rare for me to die to a blind jump. Most of the time it was

>I was rushing and I fell into a spike trap
>I got flustered by an enemy and missed a pogo

People single out the bench traps and say that Silksong hates you when those are, more often than not, the exception and not the rule. After it finally clicked and my skill caught up to the level I was able to appreciate that this was a place ruined by the Citadel and is now hostile to any outsiders. Like The Choir, or the guy they killed, or Hornet.

>Primal Aspids, the boss
>>
>>723885052
Bigly agree. There are two bench traps in the entire game and they are both clearly telegraphed both in their immediate environment and in their wider context within the biomes they appear in.

People also tend to lump in the defective bench on Sinners Road even though it's clearly telegraphed that there's something nearby that's causing problems with it.
>>
>>723884937
No, Shakra overrides Garmond and Garmond doesn't even show if you acidentlly missed his Greymoor fight by moving the caravan too soon.
>>
>>723883947
I'm a sucker for oppressive, trap filled areas that really want you dead, much like sens fortress (I recognize I keep alluding to fromsoft like a fag) I really enjoyed overcoming and sometimes being overwhelmed by all the obstacles, makes for a very satisfying victory at the end of it all. hunters march is up there too for me as well for similar reasons
>>
>>723885605
I would like to point out that my reactions are dog shit. But I was still able to dodge the Hunter's March trap. I didn't even discover the hidden wall to disarm it until later, I just continued to Pilgrim's Rest. But if I were to take the discourse at face value then everyone lost 3 masks to every 3rd bench in each area
>>
>>723884838
I like them in that one gauntlet cause you can hit the bombs back and it blows up everything else for you
>>
>>723885679
You can still get Garmond to help in High Halls even if you skipped Moorwing
>>
>>723885717
The only thing that sucks about Bilewater is that because it was really the only zone that felt like it offered a challenge, the devs routed like 5 different quests through it so it starts to get a bit repetitive. They should have made at least one more "fuck you" area.

Clearly leftover from the excision of Pharloom Bay. In the shipped game, it only exists to connect the top of Bilewater back to the Memoriam, and as an obstacle course to reach Fleatopia.

Ecstacy of the End and Passing of the Age are the only reasons to ever go through Putrified Ducts after your first visit when you get the Key of Apostate, and neither are actually needed to complete the game.

RIP Pharloom Bay. Bilewater would've been all-time if it contained a semi-secret village containing friendly NPCs. Horny's goals aligned completely with the Stilkins, they should've been an option to team up. It would've been a "not all Weavers" moment. As it is, Hornet is just as much of a psychopathic maniac as her mother and aunties.

Don't know how much Horny is paying you for this sub-par PR whitewashing but her behaviour is beyond excuse nor justification. She had no possible motive other than the sadistic joy of homicide when she invaded the mind palace of the Green Prince and literally cut his heart out. In any civilised Kingdom she would be classed as a serial killer of historical proportions. She calls herself a "hunter", your client does, yet her "prey" are, for the most part, themselves victims of puppeteering by a god. If she had any heart, and she should, since she makes such a habit of collecting them, your client would've weaved (excuse the pun) her way around the poor enslaved bugs of Pharloom, entered the monarch's royal cocoon chamber, and made her complaint via words, not violence. If she wasn't to quick to kill, perhaps she wouldn't have ruined and destroyed the once majestic kingdom of Pharloom.

I get it, but she could've proved herself to them. She could've brought them, I don't know, 20 scalps from citadel bugs. God knows the game likes to give you little chores. 20 scalps to prove you Hate just as much as the Bileniggas do, then they relax.

Original because it costs the least

I could see a quest where you forge an alliance and then they backstab you, but I can't see any outcome where they honour their word. Would be kinda neat actually, big fakeout where you think you're gonna raise an army against the citadel and they turn on you to fuck things up even more

Kek the devs would LOVE this idea. This is exactly the type of shit that they conceived and implemented over the years, snickering to themselves

>Steel City fags get all uppity about Pharloom's void outbreak and come over to seal it
>They fail and the void manages to break containment within their own city
>Only one bug can put a stop to it
>Opposed by both the void and by the Steelfags who want a monopoly on the void

All according to plan.

It makes sense, he was once a wyrm, an ancient being that lived for centuries or millennia (in insect years) and has the ability to prevent the future, any plan he had surely encompassed at least a century of planning.
