a better game

jarl haesteinn

funny how nobody is excited about this, almost everyone is more interested in EU5 and Anno 117 that are both coming out in a few weeks.

Chink fatigue

Yup, it's gaming time.

Mainly because almost all of CK3 DLCs were dogshit. The only good one was the Byzantine DLC. The rest either added the shit nobody cared about (Royal Court, Friends and Foes, Wards and Wardens, Tours and Tournaments), added overcomplicated stuff for no reason (Fate of Iberia, Legacy of Persia), broke the game (Khans of the Steppe, Legends of the Dead) or were straight unplayable garbage (Coronations).
All Under Heaven is basically a make or break moment for CK3, because if it fails, Paradox might pull the plug off the game
>>
>>723875280
They put out an entire dev diary about how performance will not be negatively affected, so I'm feeling hopeful.

there is no way you can fuck up ruling china more than real life chinese warlords

Now correct me if I'm wrong, these aren't kings who were crusaders. You might say that they aren't crusader kings.

My point is that all of their games just make the world map more of the world instead of making things more interesting focused around the actual premise of the game. Shit's lazy.
>>
next expansion should really be focused on the crusades, i'm sorry but the whole fucking reason why people play these games is to larp as templars.
no one wants to play as some pagan ching chong chink shit.
>>
>>723874473
I'm still playing ck2 agot

>>723875416
Why did it take expanding the map for paradox to fix performance issues and why does an endgame map lag more than a start of game map?
>>
>>723875858
Ummm, yes?
I can't imagine why someone would go against the literal main theme of the game.
>>
>>723875529
>no Pope mechanics
>no playable merchant republics, theocracies or holy orders
>no reworked crusades
>but you can play as yellow chinks in some shitholes
It's grim
>>
>>723875280
Bullshit, they won't abandon ck3. It's a pillar game, along with eu.
>>
>>723877129
he's using hyperbole which you shouldn't agree on, dumbo
playing some other country that could rival england during the industrial revolution would be a nobrainer and not against the theme
>>
i still haven't started playin ck3.
i only keep going back to ck2 like once or twice every few months for like a full weekend then drop it again.
>>
Why would I play this dogshit game over CK2?
Honestly asking

start in 1066 as the Habsburg in Switzerland, become an adventurer, convert to Steppe Nomadism, gather a horde and conquer China
then I have as much incestuous sex as possible and enjoy my dynasty's slow collapse as ever more inbred rulers take the throne
>>
>>723874473
Marrying your fertile mother at young age is the only reason to even play this shit game.
It would be more interesting if map wasn't so static, like mines and other special features would be random.
DLCs are overpriced and mostly shit.
>>
>>723874817
When adventuring got announced I thought it was gonna be my go to but it's absurdly OP and there's not that many events for it I'm so disappointed.
>>
>>723874473
Both this and Vic 3 just create a log file so ridiculously huge that it eat up my main drive.
Fuck those swedes and their incompetence.
Shan't be playing.
>>
>>723874473
It was fucking awful when they added India. No one asked, no one wanted them, they added nothing of value. Their religions were worse than everyone elses, 3 (three) empires for the entire subcontinent, hideous portraits, I can go on...
Now they're doing it again for no reason. Crusades still suck, the writing is godawful, we still have caveman combat with development and retinues, but oh look a massive region of lame nonsense that has nothing to do with medieval lifestyles
Anyways probably Dzayul to make my cannibal hippy nation again
>>
>>723874473
I'll just cheat a viking adventurer and invade northern Japan and adopt the local customs immediately, preferably Shugendo since it seems cool unless it's gender equal that shit is annoying since the AI is too retarded to manage marriages
might eventually see how hard it is to bring Haestaening on over
>>
Expecting it to be completely undercooked, get mostly negative reviews, and for Paradox to patch it a single time before moving on.

Realistically most players that have played CK for a long time can easily minmax the game regardless of what the devs do so I don't hold that against them but its funny to me that the game is almost 6 years old and for a eurocentric history game that they've not expanded upon it a single bit.

The two main religions play the same, no papacy/anti papacy, crusades are bad, no republics, etc. Who even cares for or interacts with the Iberian struggle or Iranian intermezzo after the first time?

We all thought they'd expand upon it with DLCs like the previous game but it just didnt happen at all and it's clear it wont in the future. They just focused on the half baked meme shit for youtubers to make le wacky videos to sell DLC to you and now they're going for the chink market.

I think whoever is behind the game at paradox are those leftist types that hate the people who play their games the most which should've been apparent when they removed Deus Vult.

>it's an achievment now
I get it that it's funny and all, but CK3's biggest problem that it caters to le funny reddit haesteinn incest crowd and refuses to make actual fucking mechanics related to Medieval Europe
>>
>>723877987
are there any mods that improve it?
>>
>>723875992
>Why did it take expanding the map for paradox to fix performance issues
probably became so egregiously bad even their supercomputers couldn't handle it anymore
>and why does an endgame map lag more than a start of game map
because there's more units on it?
>>
Paradox games have zero challenge and are for midwits.
>>
>>723875992
>Why did it take expanding the map for paradox to fix performance issues
Because they won't be able to pretend it isn't happening anymore
>why does an endgame map lag more than a start of game map
The game keeps track of everyone who died related to people still alive
>>
>>723881684
i've never seen anybody pretend map games have any semblance of difficulty
>>
>>723875529
that ship sailed when they added India to 2 and half of fucking Africa to 3 on release
>>
>>723875280
I doubt it'll fail because chinks buy anything about China, and Paradox has mentioned time and time again that they have more chinese players than you can even imagine.
>>
>>723874841
I wonder if there will be some sort of fog of war to prevent this stuff
>>
>>723874473
Im gonna be waiting for the POD update because base game CK3 is boring nothingness.
>>
>>723881795
not him but yeah it's more or less a test in patience and willingness to read mechanics
I never bothered learning the absolute minmax military in CK2 for example and could more or less bend the map to my whims anyway, all in ironman. Maybe some bad luck here and there but overall it's not a mess to deal with.
Just wish CK3's stress traits had tier levels that could be raised/lowered, it'd be a more elegant solution than disabling the shit mana outright
>>
>>723875375
Fucking lol. Just half a year ago they released a "performance update" for Stellaris where they reworked the pop system for better performance and the performance became even WORSE, which they still haven't fixed by the way. When they released the performance update they literally lied and said that they just hadn't released the performance fix yet and that they will do it in a week or two. Do you seriously trust these people when they say that the performance of CK3 totally won't be affected by the map and population of the game being tripled?
>>
>>723885401
HIP for CK2 removed half the map and CK3 has a mod that does the same to remove all this useless bloat. Hopefully it works
