Easily one of Platinum's best games in terms of gameplay, maybe the best, but I'll reserve judgement until I've finished MN. My only real complaint is the story and characters being kind of sauceless, Yakumo grew on me, but he's definitely no TOAH man. What is it with essence absorption in this game. When I jump and perform a landing UT charge with essence nearby, I always absorb the essence while mid-jump and it never stays there long enough for it to charge up the UT. Why did they change how it works?

Im on chapter 05, playing on hard and enjoying it a lot. Challenging enough that I have to retry purgatory and bosses fights a couple of times, but nothing that keeps me stuck. I also like how fast it ends when you play good with parries a lot, I dont see why people are complaining about it, and I dont mean the "window is too tight" complains, but the "parry is jank/doesnt work", same with the "bloodraven is pointless" argument
