What was his fucking problem?
>>724031975ness' dad stole his father's money which angered him. aloyisus harbored that anger and was very materialistic as well, which would've rubbed off on porky with him seeing it as possibly the most important thing. porky brings his dad with him to the monotoli building in fourside to show his dad how successful he had become presumably. he wanted to show off his accumulated wealth and success. he even tries to show off to ness at that point with him proclaiming himself as much better than ness because of his success. porky became a materialistic person because his dad was and presumably his mom was as well since she married aloyisus. but material success doesn't bring a person happiness. porky gets far in life in terms of success and hierarchy in the world but he never becomes happy because it's all just empty achievement. porky is empty inside even in mother 3 where he is king of the world.contrast that with ness and his family where they're all just loving and supportive of each other and don't care about money or material things at all.
>>724031975his dad beat him
>>724031975he was jealous of ness
>>724032836he beat picky too but picky was normal
the real question is wtf was claus' problem? he uses his monster strength to push his brother to the ground for slightly nudging into him.
>>724032996i think porky really did want to be ness' friend but just couldn't be the kind of person who was capable of being ness' friend. porky was really cowardly at the beginning so he couldn't bring himself to join ness on his adventure. and i think since abusive tough love was all porky really knew about kinship that he defaulted to being abusive towards ness to show his interest in interacting with him. but porky was also jealous of ness and felt like he needed to prove his superiority to him, like at fourside.so i think porky is mean to ness for those 2 reasons. there might also have been something going on with his dad disapproving of ness since ness' dad never gave him back his money.>>724033873i kinda wish they would've included those cutscenes. they have a lot of neat details.
>>724033873lucas deserved it. he started it. and claus just didn't know his own strength and forgot how much of a pushover his brother was in the heat of being angered in that moment.
sometimes i just wonder what porky would've been like in eb64. what changed in his story between eb64 and m3?
>>724033873>the grass going through the plantersthese things really weren't finished. maybe they just didn't have enough time to polish them up for the final game. or because they were abandoned ideas they didn't see any need to finish them.
>>724031975Abusive parenting, insecurity, and loneliness.
>>724031975abused kid with the need to prove something to the world
>>724035374i kinda like the theory that he originally built a lifelike version of onett on the nowhere islands and that's the onett you see being destroyed in one of the trailers. the cutscene takes place after pulling the final needle.
>>724031975he was literally me. i could've saved him...
>>724034795>i think porky really did want to be ness' friend but just couldn't be the kind of person who was capable of being ness' friend.>porky was also jealous of ness and felt like he needed to prove his superiority to himI think that's right on the mark. Porky is so obsessed with "success" that he has to better than Ness. He has to beat Ness to prove he's better than him. I don't personally think he was even influenced by Giygas into harassing Ness. That's all Porky. At the end he makes it a point to ask Ness,>So now which one of us do you think is the cool guy?Porky wanted to be cooler than Ness. This extends into how he toys with Lucas at the end of Mother 3 as well. He plays games with him and forces Lucas to lose before he'll let him progress. But just winning isn't enough for Porky. He needs to feel like he accomplished something so Lucas has to pretend like he's actually trying before letting Porky win. Porky is obsessed with being better than others, being cooler than them.
>>724031975I like to think part of his vendetta was seeing Ness "replace" him with actual friends with the rest of The Chosen Four (starting with a girl no less) and became envious and spiteful. He wasn't chosen, he's left behind like Naru from Sailor Moon except unlike Naru he chose to take action in a negative way.Sure he didn't WANT to be chosen anyways because of the danger but it's not like he wanted to see the closest person he had to a friend just leave him and he did seek out grandeur possibly wanting to impress his dad as well given he accompanied him to Fourside.I don't think Ness was the "unpopular" kid but his "friendship" with Porky probably did him no favors in socializing with others.Had he not been so impatient or short-sighted or petty, he could've been a supporting friend to the Chosen Four ala Tony.We know via Magicant that even if Ness' silence meant skepticism and hesitation, he truly wishes Porky was repentant and that whatever bond they did have could be salvaged. It wasn't until he ran away from everyone in the end that made it harder and harder for him to be redeemed until he let himself age into the lonely, miserable monster he became.
>>724037072>I like to think part of his vendetta was seeing Ness "replace" him with actual friends with the rest of The Chosen Four (starting with a girl no less) and became envious and spiteful.it could even be that porky saw ness as becoming more successful than him as one of the chosen 4 and going on adventures that triggered porky's jealousy. ness was doing great things with his life while porky was being left behind.>magicanti wonder how the average interaction with ness and porky went before the meteorite fell. did ness really see porky as a friend or did ness just wish porky would become a better person and stop bothering him?
>>724032704Porkies Limo and Porkies Room are the kinoest locales in M3
>>724037746for me it's tazmily itself and porky's tower. they did a good job with that dungeon by keeping all the different rooms fresh. none of them overstay their welcome.
>>724037854one of saddest parts of m3 is seeing tazmily change and all the residents get corrupted by fassad/porky into becoming incredibly materialistic and apathetic to others.
is porky one of the best villains in video games? i find him interesting despite not even having that big of a presence in his games. he's just interesting and his dialogue is good at getting his childish character across. he has lots of personality. idk.
>>724037072Ness was fine on friends, he had the secret clubhouse. Porky was just his same-aged neighbor, parents always push kids like that to try and be friends and Ness was probably nice enough to put up with him to an extent/too young to realize what an asshole porky was. Most kids probably knew a kid a lot like porky.
>>724038237Like the rest of the game, with porky, a lot is done with a little. They do a great job of making the main characters and the main villain (porky somehow overtakes giygas as the main villain by sheer force of annoying presence) feel like kids, keeping the whole adventure mysterious and grand.
>>724031975Bad Parents and Neglect, also sought the approval of Ness and when that didn’t pan out decided to fuck around with time travel to ruin another world. It would take a miracle for Mother 3 to be remade for a modern audience to play it and witness this evil kid being one of the most heinous Nintendo villains next to Bananza K. Rool.
>>724033265Different people have different reactions. Also, there's no telling if Picky ended up completely alright afterwards. Some people start showing their cracks later.
>>724031975literal abuse by a horrible father and worthless mother. porky is terrifying in how well he represents the majority of American kids and their dysfunction from broken families.
>>724038389Porky did something much worse than take over as main villain; he INHERITS it from Giygas, who is much like him. Giygas was driven insane by the loss of Maria, his mother, and grew into a malignant thing of hate. Porky simply inherited that same broken nature, and put his own human spin on it with what he did in Mother 3.
was porky gay? he keeps this half naked centaur man in his fan room. did he get oxygen from it? why did he design the oxygen machines as half naked men? he's obsessed with ness. was he gay for him?
>>724041452I think it was a literal oxygen tank for his old ass, but yes Porky was probably gay
>>724040556>It would take a miracle for Mother 3 to be remade for a modern audience to play it and witness this evil kid being one of the most heinous Nintendo villains next to Bananza K. Rool.as much as i would like seeing a modern audience react to m3 it's probably for the best of never gets an official release outside of japan. i'm not sure if it would even be able to reach a wider audience beyond the already existing fandom.>>724040680i appreciate how real porky feels as a character. he's that kid who's always up to no good and lies about everything. he tells everyone about made up secrets he found in games and then tries to gaslight everyone into thinking it's their fault if they can't find it.
>>724041727>I think it was a literal oxygen tank for his old assi can see that. he looked like he could barely even breathe with all his coughing.>probably gayi think he was or at least bi. no one designs an oxygen machine as a half naked guy unless they're into it. most people were shown to be uncomfortable getting oxygen from these machines, barring that one pigmask.
>>724032704>ness' dad stole his father's money which angered himTo be fair I'm not entirely sure if he even did anything that bad. I'm not exactly going to consider abusive parents to be the most reliable narrators. I've always felt like Ness' Dad just got loaned like $5 at the most or something and they're still holding it against him.
>>724041452>he's obsessed with ness. was he gay for him?that could partially explain why he liked to harrass ness so much. what if porky did indeed like him that way? know that stereotype of kids picking on the ones they like because that don't know how else to get their attention or express their interest? that could be porky.
>>724042217that anon was wrong, Aloy was clearly lying to antagonize Ness
>>724042217>'m not entirely sure if he even did anything that bad. I'm not exactly going to consider abusive parents to be the most reliable narrators.fair point. but aloyisus was still materialistic which porky likely would've seen. porky would've seen that money/status is the most important thing to him and start thinking that to himself how he needs material things to be important.
>>724042443Then Ness turning his back on Porky is what ultimately cemented this.
>>724042443yeah his dad very clearly taught him Might Is Right, Greed Is Good, all while beating him bloody.>>724042559I don't think he did turn his back. Ness just couldn't break past Porky's fear and self-loathing.
>>724042559what's your take on ness ignoring porky and porky in magicant?i think ness was fed up with porky when he ignored him but wished porky would truly change his ways. i think ness did want porky to be a real friend to him but couldn't help but feel weary of him whenever he showed up.
>>724031975A mean streak and an inferiority complex. Also he's fat. Even fatter than Ness.
>>724042631>I don't think he did turn his back. Ness just couldn't break past Porky's fear and self-loathing.Yes, that's the point. Porky thought way more into Ness' actions.>>724042758>what's your take on ness ignoring porky and porky in magicant? He's a silent protagonist and didn't talk.
>>724042897cute paula
>>724042907>Porky thought way more into Ness' actions.so it was entirely fear and insecurity based on porky's part?>ness is a silent protagonist and didn't talkthat is certainly true but is that all there is to it?
>>724034795>i think porky really did want to be ness' friendAbsolutely. But he was too much of an insecure, stubborn asshole to express that in any positive manner. The saddest part is that Ness already considered him to be his friend, and believed in his heart that Pokey wanted to be his friend as well. Right up to the end.
>>724043078Ness can get homesick so he has emotions and stuff. There's nothing to indicate he felt anything about Porky during it though good or bad.
>>724043164>Ness can get homesick so he has emotions and stuffI like how he becomes less of a crybaby as you progress through the game and becomes homesick less often
>>724031975You didn't respect his authoritah
>>724043160>The saddest part is that Ness already considered him to be his friend, and believed in his heart that Pokey wanted to be his friend as well. Right up to the end.we do have the magicant section making it seem that way. but we also have the coffee break where it says "porky, the worst person in your neighborhood, knocked on your door." i think ness did want porky to be his friend but he also had to be weary of porky because of his track record. this translates to ness ignoring porky after he apologizes because can porky be trusted?
>>724043331Cartman is way worse than Porky and did a lot more damage with much less resources.
>>724043237a creative design choice for character progression. itoi really liked playing with the idea of a scared kid becoming braver.
>>724043160>The saddest part is that Ness already considered him to be his friendI'm not sure if I fully think Ness viewed him as a friend. Ness felt bad for him and did want to hang out with him, but I don't think Ness could view him as a true friend, at least not until Porky got over all his insecurities and shit.
>>724043426porky is the one person who never deals with the evil inside himself, unlike the npcs who do evil because of giygas' influence. i took it as they had the capacity within themselves to be that evil and giygas was just the one who pushed them into doing it.ness had evil within himself too but he beat it in magicant.porky never beats the evil inside himself.
why did porky want to destroy the world in m3 "to get rid of everyone who didn't like him" if he already brainwashed most people at the time into liking him? i think it was because he knew it was all hollow and didn't really feel anything from the false "liking" everyone gave him at that point. but i'm curious what others think.
>>724043835Porky is the natural outcome of any billionaire or broke child who grows into power. He has everything but a soul and love, and the only end to that road is forcing suicide on all life.Just him, the Dragon, and the whole wide empty world...
>>724031975alien pussy
>>724043347>porky, the worst person in your neighborhood, knocked on your door." Is this in the original text or is it a localization thing?
>>724044636i don't actually know if it's in the og jp text.
>>724031975He's fucking FAT
>>724044485porky's story would probably come off a lot differently if giygas was a hot girl
>>724044114so in other words, he's basically the misery loves company type. because he was suffering he thought everyone else should suffer as well. because he didn't enjoy anything in his life, he thought everything should be destroyed. he destroyed for the instant gratification of feeling powerful as well as to ruin everything for everyone else.
>>724044961That, and boredom. He was God. He saw it all. He wanted to destroy everything to spite the world never loving him save by force.
do you think porky cares one way or another if he's stuck inside the absolutely safe capsule forever?
>>724045610>Eventually, Porky stopped thinking...
>>724031975he was gay for Ness's fat ass
>>724031975>picrelThat's a more-than-charitable depiction. The guy was fat as fuck.>>724043835He was bored and felt like it would be entertaining. I recall it being explained either by him or some other character in Mother 3.
>>724046202i feel like only his m2 sprite was REALLY fat. every other depiction, he's just slightly fat.
>still no eb 64 leak
>>724046364we have to have hope, anon. at the very least, maybe itoi will share the original script since he sells the other scripts in his word of mother books.
if only duster got a 3d model
>>724046364We might get something when Itoi eventually does a Mother 3 museum expo like he's done with Mother 2, that showed off a bunch of Mother 2 concept art.
>>724042897I like to think Paula really did kick Porky in the balls
>>724047041It's kind of weird he skipped Mother 1 since they still have the models but I get 2 is more iconic and probably had leagues more info to share
>>724047041>itoi is 75let's pray he's still alive by the time he gets around to an m3 museum
>>724046685but why does lucas have such extravagant hair? how does he get it like that? does he use hair gel? why does a 12 year old need to use hair gel?
>>724047348have you seen him since he's grown? he has places to go and people to see, girls to pick up.
>>724047840Cute!
>>724047840Cute little religious psychic child
>>724047840Ness and Paula warm my heart
OKですか?
>>724035526they were rough.but also, they might not have been included to not break the pacing and feel of the final battle. the only cutscene that plays during the final battle is a very emotional one with flint and hinawa naming the kids and going over how they know they'll fight a lot and end up becoming kind and make them proud. showing a few flashbacks of various tonal shifts and one questionable one (claus tells hinawa something funny and lucas looks over at them in shock? what is going on there?) might not have fit very well.and that one cutscene with flint and hinawa already goes over what is shown in the unincluded cutscenes, with them fighting over rock paper scissors, and playing together, and being kind with their mom.but it is also slightly ironic that claus remembered being scolded by flint in one of the unused flashbacks for hurting lucas while fighting and hurting lucas in real time in the final battle.
>>724045914it's not that fat. stop being mean...
>>724051339which ending do you usually go for in m2? taking paula home? or taking paula HOME?
>>724058049ness should lay off those trash burgers
i've been thinking, it's almost collectively agreed on that earthbound is some kind of satire of american culture but it doesn't really feel like it's making fun of america. and you don't even stay in the american inspired locations the whole game. it takes place across several locations all with different cultural influence like dalaam being based on asian countries and winters being based on britain.and most agree that jeff is british, which makes sense since winters seems britain based. but i have to question if jeff specifically being british is something itoi would've thought of. for instance, would jeff even have a british accent? i assume itoi wouldn't be thinking of the characters having different english speaking accents.
>>724058049maybe not, but lucas' on the other hand... itoi had to make official merch of that thing...
>>724040556I can't get over porky cwc, that was so fucking funny.
The "dragon" in 3 sleeping in the Earth that psychically imprinted to whoever pulled the needles, was Gygas right. Post mindbreak in 2.
>>724063259That's part of my personal take as well
why was she so angry?
>>724063259No, it's like the dragon that sleeps underneath Magicant in Mother 1. Which means... the Nowhere Islands are Mother 3's Magicant and at the end, everyone wakes up.
>>724031975He was a coward that liked taking the easy way out of things. He gravitated towards Gyigas because he was given easy power and then shat up the world just because was given the power to do it instead of doing anything benevolent with it.
>>724063259no it's the Biblical Dragon what ends the world, the seven needles are the Seven Seals of Revelations
I remember I used to be obsessed with Mother characters when I was a kid but I grew out of my shotacon phase when I was 12 and now I only like adult womenIs that normal
>>724041452>>724041727>>724042148>character is in a stunted state of childlike psychosis>"hurr is he gay?"
>>724069958Yeah, maybe. He keeps Ness' yo-yo and all. Who can say.
>>724060032It's just a whimsical take.
>>724070228>character in a stunted state of childlike psychosis keeps mementos from his past>"hurr is he gay?"Shoulda kept you freaks in the closet.
>>724070434yeah yeah we get it, culture war forever, death death death, bot got triggered by keyphrases and starts screaming, whatever man keep on outraging
>>724070228it's really sad you zoomers have no meaningful friendships in your lives you think if anyone gives a shit about you they must want to fuck you
>>724070556>no yo you don't understand these children need to be gay, you're the weird oneTick tock.
>>724070905Guess you better tell Itoi he's gonna die for Tony, then.
>>724071404>I have never ever ever had a friendIf you want to imagine all of your interactions with people as being motivated by homolust, feel free. When you start projecting your fetish onto children, well, that's why people have either killed you or suppressed you historically. I genuinely appreciate you going mask off, though, it wakes up the normalfags and makes them okay with you being shut the fuck down.
>>724071790Tony is gay, anon.
