You now remember Protheans before the retcon.
>>724046005I always remembered
honestly would have been better if the reapers were the protheans all along, story would have been ten times more coherent.
>>724046567>the Protheans genocided themselvesI thank whatever God that exists that nobody here will be given the resources or nepotism to be able to write vidya.
>>724046567Then they're be ripping off Gurren Lagann.
>>724047391Does it matter? Mass Effect was already ripping off the Revelation Space Series
>>724046650>the Protheans genocided themselvesJust say some of them chose to upload their minds and become the Reapers while the others refused and got wiped out. It would've been better than what we got.
>>724046005>retconThis pistol doesn't have a thermal clip!
>>724046005Mass Effect 1 is the only Mass Effect game as far as I am concerned.Mass Effect 2 is a retarded yet sometimes entertaining fanfic and that's it. Nothing ever happened after that.
>>724048056I like how 2 had so many obvious signs it was shit right from the start
>>724046650>nobody here will be given the resources or nepotism to be able to write vidyathats what you think fucko
>>724048114>>724048415Oh yeah ME1 was such a great game of holding W+M1 because every class had the "your gun won't overheat for x seconds" ability and steamroll every enemy in the game.
>>724048114Based
>>724046005I never forgot.
>>724048485articulate the reason you would be walking forward while firing
>>724048415I played 2 and 3 once and I just uninstalled them after. Meanwhile I have 5 characters on ME1 since its release and I could probably find new ways to play after that. Only class I never tried is Infiltrator.
>>724048415It was fairly unique in ME1 instead of the bog standard reload in every other shooter.>>724048485Yes.
>>724046005That race was too lovecraftian, therefore problematic.
>>724048541To advance the game, duh.
>>724047992>Just say some of them chose to upload their minds and become the Reapers while the others refused and got wiped out. >It would've been better than what we got.It not being their choice is literally the only difference to what we got and how does that matter, you giant buffoon
>>724048114ME1 was the prototype for a great franchise start. Then everything else happened.
>>724048693Bioware went broke making it and without EA even ME1 wouldn't see the light of day.
>>724048114the mako was based, even with the copypasted planetsi knew things were fucked when people celebrated its removal
>>724048629articulation check: failedno save file available
>>724048485what you said doesn't even matter retarded tranny lmao
>>724048631Collectors are not Reapers dummy, they are their servants.
>>724048845Gameplay matters and ME1 gameplay is nonexistent.
>>724048804you and me are the same. It was all about "the experience" for me. This is what a space commander does. Lands on a remote planet to take out some alien baddies. The experience just needed refinement. Instead of copy-pasted pirate hideouts, just make them a bit more varied. Instead of the same geth outposts dozens of times, just make them different. Improve it into the space adventure kino it deserves to be. But they fucking scrapped it all.
>>724049014ME1 has the best gameplay
Hire a capeshit writer (Mac Walters), get capeshit results.
>>724048804The planets at least had varying levels of importance or objectives. Like the Starship Trooper inspired assignments in Styx Theta or the one where you land and the signal leads you back to a ship infested by husks. The only ones that truly sucked where the 4 you had to kill Geth in.
>>724049124Now that's unironically disingenuous, even KOTOR is more complex than ME1.
>>724049014>talky talk>tradey trade>shooty shoot>drivey drivewhat more could you want
>>724046005You're going to have to explain this, what the fuck were Protheans before ME3 made one actually show up?
>>724049356They looked like those statues on Ilos. It was never implied that those were somehow a different species under their empire.ME2 also implies that Prothean genetic transformation into Collectors changed their appearance significantly to the point of unrecognizability. ME3 shits all over this by having Javik look exactly like a Collector but without brown bug skin.
>>724049675Show the statues please.
>>724049704Literally what is in the OP dingus.
>>724049750Haven't played ME1 for a while nigger-kun. But thank you for the picture, yeah that's a dumb fucking retcon given that the collectors aren't supposed to look anything like an actual Prothean.
>>724049215You're dumb. I can put explosive rounds on a sniper in ME1, shoot at the feet of an enemy and watch fly into orbit. That's gameplay. Your stupid little brain can't fathom what fun gameplay even is.
>>724050020Explosive rounds in ME1 were so fucking broken. And how the hell do they even make explosions from a tiny paint-chip sized projectile anyways?
>>724049750>the mighty protheans>fucking cripples
Why did they give the protheans Ugandan accents? So lame lol. From this >>724049750 mysterious and eerily creepy ancient race of beings that we will never truly understand, downgraded to this retard nigger alien race kek

>>724050739that would be unsportsmanlike

>>724050806>Can you throw a grenade far enough to not get caught in a nuclear blast from it?With mechanical augmentations, power armor, biotic strength boosting and shielding to give more leeway? Absolutely.
>>724050712Just give it time. Hopefully libtards never win elections in the US again.
>>724050876yeah but at that point why not just launch a nuke from your spaceship in orbit
>>724050936I mean why don't the reapers just nail Shepherd with a fucking 450 kiloton beam of death?
>>724050980that wouldn't be fair innit
>>724050903Hopefully, but even then they have a stranglehold on entertainment industry. Rot is deep.
>>724050936I think its illegal in Citadel Council space along with dropping meteors or other forms of orbital bombardment. Theres a mission where Hackett wants you to recover a recon drone with a nuke that makes Hiroshima “look like a joke” as he put it and if it was recovered by aliens it would make the Alliance look bad.
>>724050712Almost like Trump's 'vibe shift' was literally just that and nothing more. You'll get pandered to as a normal person, but only enough to not feel like you need to start a revolution. Welcome to a new, gayer and more half-assed 90s.>>724050903>picOriental coomslop like this isn't indicative of anything improving, just an inevitable attempt by foreigners to grift off our decay. >>724051060I forgot, the galaxy-harvest space-robot-lice are all about honor.
>>724050020>shoot at the feet of an enemy and watch fly into orbitEspecially during the final mission where they just fly the fuck away because of the gravity. Pure kino
>>724048485Yeah. You don't have to sell it to me, I've already beaten the game quite a few times. Also,>first game in a new franchise by a dev that doesn't have a lot of experience making that kind of game ends up being unbalanced and buggyShocker.Could've refined it for ME2, could've refined it in the... remake/port-thing in the collection, could've made the thermal clips in ME2 act like a consumable way to instantly cool a gun, nope, they just ripped out the weird leveling system, sidelined the entire plot for some reason, and made "thermal clips" just mean the same reload system as any other shooter, all so you can spend the entire sequel wading through weird retcons and plot holes while the plot gets mostly put on hold for the whole game.
>>724050712You need to wait a bit. Most games released now have been in development since the early 20s, like that new Naughty Dog game with the bald girl
>>724048114>Mass Effect 1 is the only Mass Effect game as far as I am concerned.this
>>724050517>hmm, how do we make this alien look more alien...>I know, give it another pair of eyes just smaller!I hate this shit.
>>724050020>KOTOR>Can actually fuck up your build and make the game unplayable due to you sucking ass at everything>Gear is scarce and mostly shit so stats matter>No cover or damage avoidance, enemies will fuck you upMeanwhile ME1 as an RPG:>Can't fuck up your build, everything is streamlined and simple >Constant loot spam which clogs your inventory after 30 minutes of playing the game>Can just take cover and take potshots until enemies die due to infinite ammo/abilities requiring no MPSay what you want but by RPG standards ME1 was pure goyslop aimed at Xbox 360 kids.

Microsoft missed a huge opportunity not buying Bioware and owning the Mass Effect IP. Did the first one sell decent on Xbox while it was an exclusive?
>>724054883It didnt sell Halo numbers but it sold pretty good. Both it and DAO exceeded EA’s expectations which is why they wanted yearly sequels and DLC slapped onto them.

I can excuse the thermal clips because some of the weapons added to the sequels are insanely fun like that Krogan assault rifle with explosive ammo and the energy weapon that shreds clankers + if you get the right items you can go full biotic without touching a weapon
>>724057286>Correct me if I'm wrongYou are wrong, and probably mentally retarded.

>>724057992Characterfaggotry replaced story to appeal to normies who can't follow a plot across a 30 hour game.RPG elements, while limited in the original, were almost completely removed instead of expanded upon.Same with exploration.
on an unrelated note, are the people who complain about the mako the same people who complain about the HL2 vehicle sections?do they just want to do the exact same thing the entire game?
>>724058447>are the people who complain about the mako the same people who complain about the HL2 vehicle sections?Probably not. The mako is mostly optional and potentially doesn't take very long once you know what you're doing. Blowing things up with the main cannon and thruster stomping enemies is also lots of fun.The vehicle sections in Half Life 2 aren't skippable, go on forever, and don't give you much to play around with. They very much feel like DOOD LOOK AT THESE PHYSICS gimmicks. There's also much less to explore to keep things interesting.
>>724050020try putting them in the shotgun too. switching between them is faster than waiting for the cooldown so you can get off more shots

>>724064778>THEY MADE IT EMPTY ON PURPOSE! NOT BECAUSE THEY ARE LAZY FUCKS WITH NO BUDGET!Wow wow! Next you're gonna tell me copypasted arenas are a philosophycal statement on something? >>724063108>>724064838I know niggers are dumb but you are something elseAre you actually comparing one minor little tutorial part in a 40hour game to a full 20 hour corridor shooter game? It's like saying GTAV is not open world because the intro is linear.
>>724065046>arenas are a philosophycal statement on something? Or that side-quests with no storytelling that end with just a text dump was also a kino way of diong it, and not just a lazy piece of shit?No these are areas they can improve on. But landing on remote planets and moons for missions is still cool as fuck. Way to jump the gun and make yourself look like even more of a clown lmao.
>>724065453>40hour gameLol, Are you a fucking toddler? ME1 is beatable within 20 hours AT BEST. Also Eden Prime is the first fucking mission, a harbinger of what's to come. Every fucjing level in that game is like that. Look at ALL of the maps faggot. They're all corridors. That's not an RPG. The only RPG elements it has is a fucking dice falling off screen every time you shoot, lol.
>>724065524>No these are areas they can improve on.And they did. Side quests in 2 are miles better than in 1, and have actual story happening in them. Sorry they didn't bring back enpty cardboard cut outs that you can play around in doing nothing, but I guess they had actualy people in mind, yoy know, those that actually play the game, not stare at an empty screen.
ME2trannies seething ITT
>>724065854Nah they were boring. ME2 was made for dumb dumb GoW fans like you kek. ME1 was made for people who wanted a true RPG experience.
>>724066027>ME1 was made for people who wanted a true RPG experienceYou got fucking nostalgia glasses on, dumb fuck. ME1 was being called Gears and not an RPG back in the day. But I guess for your stupid zoomer ass even that is too complex so you resort to calling it an RPG, lol.
>>724048415>>724048114>>724062927Daily reminder that the main reason why ME2 got so violently '"streamlined'" into being beatable by even the most brain-dead of retards is because Dean Takahshi struggled to play thru the entirety of ME1 without ever leveling his character's stats even once.
>>724066193>ME1 was being called Gears and not an RPG back in the day.lol no it wasn't

>>724066313Gaming journalists have definitely been ruining videogames for longer than people realize. The ME1 to ME2 kneejerk changes were also in large part due to journos struggling with the MAKO sections. >>724055998that was the entire point behind themeverything about them was designed so you'd assume they were responsible for everything then the actual twist that the ancient aliens were just the previous link in a truly ancient chain of reaped civilizations and that all the inexplicably operable ancient ruins were intentionally left behind by the true villains to prepare your civilization to meet the fate of all the other "precursors" was genuinely cleverThat's something people frankly don't appreciate enough, but ME1 was a genuine clever take on traditional scifi stories back in the day, just that by now everyone knows about the reapers and the plot and nobody thinks it's any special to the point people who didn't start with ME1 don't even realize that Sovereign being intelligent and capable of talking to you rather than simply being an ominous capital ship was a "holy fuck" moment

>>724067336nah they're just ripping off the thing 40k ripped off itselfnothing original in that setting
>>724067393No, but in reality nothing is original. Everything is influenced by or a reference to something else.
>>724066193Typo?2 was the one that was called a gears clone. As evidenced by it playing just like gears but with powers.Heck put "Mass Effect 1 play like Gears of war" into google and the results mostly talk about the series as a whole. Put 2 instead of the 1 and surprise it talks about 2 being like gears, even from web results made at around the time the game came out.
>>724050712Do you lack the concept of time? Games and movies take a minimum of 2 years to develop, with the average closer to 6. Boards of investors operate purely off sunk cost, and so will not cancel things. People need to be fired and replaced, and they are going to resist change every single step of the way. You're going to see the remnants of DEI shit for at least another 3 years, and that is assuming these studios, production companies, and publishers get fully gutted within those 3 years.
>>724067425Real shit. ME2 nosedived into big generic hollywood orchestras and ruined the tone. ME3 for all its flaws actually tried to correct this, but didn't go nearly far enough.
>>724067425>That Virmire trackME1 was so good. It's a shame we never got a sequel.
>>724067967But Mass Effect 3 was even more "generic hollywood music" and even more "hollywood dialogue" all with lame Marvel-style self-referential internet-dialogue. >>724069713There are standout moments in ME3 that have god-tier synth music, ironically in the end especially. But ME2 had a much higher ratio of Mass Effecty music to outright "hans zimmer" slop but there actually isn't a single OST in the franchise that sounds Hans Zimmer esque until the Overlord DLC. The main game's orchestral level music just kinda sounds like Saturday Morning Cartoon pirate music at times. It has bangers like Samara's level theme though. https://youtu.be/2U9FW0fY0cI?si=O82WeXQiKJ-OOIsz&t=149Not to mention Illusive Man's theme is so good.

That said Bioware was very bad about recycling the same story over and over again, usually getting away with it because it let you date/sex up the cast.

>>724046005So would the dark energy story have been better than what we got?
>>724080152I mean that's just the entire vibe change between 1 and 2. ME1 has a lot of moments of horror that make space seem big, dangerous, and isolating. They never really recaptured that.
>>724080072>let's go on this random mission all together and leave the Normandy undefendedI fucking hate how they justify it>there's no time to assemble the squad, you'll just pick who goes with you in the shuttlenigga I'm going to choose Garrus and Tali anyway, the rest can stay on Normandyhow do they all fit in the fucking shuttle anyway?
>>724081372Funniest thing is canonically shepard took everyone on that mission only for most of the group to just do nothing on the shuttle while shepard and two other did things.
>>724081567that's what you get when your game limits your party's size for no in-world reason, but bioware could never wrap their heads around this and made the mistake of letting it bleed into writingit's comical especially in me2, when you have like 12 companions total, but you can never bring more than 2 with you because fuck you
>>724080292Honestly, probably not. The story would be too abstract and restrictive for people due to the 'end of the universe' concept. The proposed endings aren't exactly conclusive for the audience either
Really annoys me how the council actsI get it at the beginning of ME1But even after Sovereign attacks the citadel they still refuse to believe Shephard that the reapers are a thing and "oh, the geths just built that ship".
>>724080152Yeah the ME1 visions/nightmares hit hard.
>>724080292the what
>>724081856I always thought this was intentional by the council to not arouse panic to the populace and instead they were secretly building strength and trying to innovate technology for the upcoming reaper war but instead they really were just retards
Why are ME threads consistently the most shit threads in all of /v/? At least the CSGO keks threads have some entertainment value.
>>724082115The abandoned Quarian colony planet, whose star burns itself out too early in Mass Effect 2 was part of the scrapped Dark Energy storyline.
>>724081856The entire setting was destroyed by the me2 writers. The entirety of game1 simply didn't happen. Shepard was killed. Everything you did in 1 was made useless and retarded. The ship is destroyed, replaced by a new, shinier ship made by much cooler people than those stuffy military faggots. They forced their setting on us, and also inadvertently made me3 that much harder to pull off successfully. Since "no one" believed in sovereign/reapers, no one prepared for their arrival. Since shepard didn't prepare, he has no answers when they come. No one did anything to prepare. Also cerberus infiltrated everyone, everywhere and are mega strong now because fucking what we need someone to fight in this game. Its all gay as fuck. Supremely disappointing. Everyone is retarded. We see humanity's pooled leadership in the beginning of me3, they say they're scared as fuck bane is the scariest guy they ever seen and then they DIE so the real military guys can take over
>>724082319Head in the sand approach for them.
>>724081372That was peak lazy writing. They really wouldn't have had to work too hard to justify getting the whole team off the ship. Just have a colony actively being Collector'd and make a point of needing all hands on deck to fend them off and evacuate people. Then while that is going the Normandy can try providing air support but gets stopped by a tractor beam or some shit and gets boarded. Then the collectors can fuck off the planet with your crew once that's done. Would fit into the overarching story of colony attacks and abductions better that way too.
>>724082474>Shepard was killedThe whole Lazarus Project plot is so fucking stupid and just made to make "le heckin twist" to start ME2.Reviving someone from the dead. Really. And try to explain it as something so expensive and risky its totally never going to happen again.Fucking ridiculous. Have Shepard get put in coma or something, But dead? FFS.
>>724082474>>The entire setting was destroyed by the me2 writersPatently not.But the franchise was utterly devoid of agency, and that interest, by the second half of ME3, if not at the end of it.
>>724082115Original plan for the reapers or at least early draft idea from the original writer who left during 2's development. There was an issue with mass effect tech that was actually speeding up the heat death of the universe(this is referened in tali's recruitment mission). The goal of the reapers is trying to find a fix for this with the implicaiton that this might be the final cycle. The purpose of the harvests is that they want to turn new species into reapers to keep a constant influx of new mindsets and ideas, and they see how adaptable humanity is as a major key to solving things(they mention in universe humanity is a bit odd by being so diverse on a genetic level) and that's why humanity was chosen to become a reaper.
>>724048415>no thermal clips>suddenly working with CerberusMy joy and interest in the series died right there. ME1 explicitly gives you the Sole Survivor option, gives you missions specifically for that path, including Cpl. Toombs, has tons of missions where you just kill all Cerberus bastards. But all of a sudden in ME2 you're working with and for them.
>>724081372>I'm going to choose Garrus and Tali anywayWell I'm not. Wanna fight about it?
>>724082709>and that interestfucking autocorrecthow do you shorten "therefore" to "that" you stupid fucking shit?
>>724082775of course not, I'm the commander here
We'll bang, OK?
>>724080292Yes, definitely. It would go from retarded AI misinterpreting it's instruction to an actual dilemma with no clear solution.

>>724082857You have chosen mutiny, then. Take anon to the brig!
>>724082727I think every race gets a reaper, humanity just got it's reaper early
You retards keep trying to divide which game is better and which is worse when all of them flow really well together for a genuine kino experience. It has problems and its not perfect, but if you're gonna shit on ME2 then atleast shit on ME1 first of all for making the reapers this undefeatable force beyond comprehension. It fucks everything up because ultimately there is no real way to defeat something that is that hyped up. Defeating something like a reaper just with guns and nukes looks incredibly silly, which funnily enough is what happens, and an asspull like the crucible makes things worse for the writing. If ME wanted to truly succeed the reapers should have been beaten in the first game
>>724083036jokes on us, they preserved organic life in their own retarded way
>>724083037Oh, man. Watching her move, hearing her speak. Just take me back, anon, to those innocent days when I first played ME2 and I didn't even know Yvonne was Australian.

>>724083049>WHY WOULD IT HAPPEN ENTIRELY OFF-SCREENWork and budget.
>>724083175>atleast shit on ME1 first of all for making the reapers this undefeatable force beyond comprehensionA force that didn't need Saren and the entire Conduit thing to begin with.
>>724083175the only anon who likes vidya itt
Could Shepard and his squad survive being hunted by a bunch of these?
>>724083360It's the ME1&3 shitters that keep shitting on 2 that are making these threads so bad and divisive.
>>724083175>all of them flow really well togetherNo they fucking don't. ME1 to ME2 is a fucking collapse in quality. Then you get to ME3 and it's just garbage. (Except the multiplayer, that was fun)
>>724083497No. They are all dead. Maybe someone with good enough armor/barriers, but that's situational, and can't be maintained for long. Your best bet for survival would be Wrex, Thane/Kasumi and Shepard.
>>724083497Only in ME1 before the gay shit
>>724083497Shepard fucked a babyreaper 1v1 don't make me laf.>yeah it was one of THOSE moments in ME3 lmao
>>724083197Except the entire "we (synthetic liveforms) need to protect organic life from being killed by the synthetic life they'll inevitably develop by killing them" gets completely dismantled by geth who are non-expansionary and chill unless a reaper is controlling them. Also what about civilizations that develop synthetic life before FTLSwap in dark energy and it makes senseNo species which evolved FTL is just going to give it up for the greater good, "fuck you, got mine" and all that. So we stuff all the boome, uh I mean prometheans into the reaper meatgrinder to absorb their knowledge, find the eventual solution, then possibly restore their species
>>724083654>1v1anon, he had the entire fucking fleet shooting at it
>>724083637What does that have to do with anything? Nobody in ME, besides Kasumi and potentially Shepard, have anything that comes close to Yautja stealth technology that could potentially hide them. Everyone else is dead.
>mass gayffect 1 was le dangerous and edgylol lmfao
>>724083163We actually hear from voice lines from harbinger why the others were rejected, seems like there's an implication there. My favorite is krogan were high on the list until the genophage which implies they couldn't just fix that.
I miss tropical looking environments from mid 2000s games. Really comfy.
>>724074619The fact that the entire universe massively adopted this new weapons system in just a mere two years, to the point that there would not even be a single example or encounter of someone using weapons that by all accounts should still be in circulation was an insult to my intelligence.
>>724083654>Dodge the laser>Worst fight in the entire franchise so far>Required multiple orbital strikes from the fleet above and the Reaper being utterly retarded to workNot viable.
>>724083786So vagina faces don't have a chance.
>>724083175>It fucks everything up because ultimately there is no real way to defeat something that is that hyped up.You know you can just make the obvious choice and defeat their threat for the current generation but make it absolutely clear they can still easily fuck you up and will come back... eventually. But the day has been won and this generation of heroes went above and beyond to achieve it.Mass Effect ripped the entire Reaper thing from Free Space but completely forgot how the Shivans work.Lucifer-Sovereign is defeated at the very last moment and the contact with Earth is lost.So human-alien alliance builds the biggest, baddest, most expensive and most uber-advanced ship ever built based on the bits of tech from Lucifer-Sovereign they could obtain. Just in case Shivans could ever come back. And they're also researching how to restart the jump nodes (made by Shivans-Reapers to direct the evolution of all races before they come in and cleanse them using that hyperspace network as a guide for where intelligent life is), they end up opening a portal that gets them... to more Shivans-Reapers. They destroy the tech that restarted the portal, but it's useless. Shivans made this shit, they know how to through anyway. They bring in the giga-nigga uber ship and it does valiantly, but Shivan-Reapers bring in something even more powerful and the alliance only barely wins. But as they're celebrating, they find out there's more of these things which they barely won over. OH SHIT. Seeing there's no hope, they resort to the only trick that worked historically. It takes all the resources they have and lots of heroic sacrifices, but in the end they cut the invaded nodes from the hyperspace network and only observe something superbly odd as they hightail it out of there. The Shivans are unexplainably triggering a supernova and jumping into it. We don't know what they did, why they did it, only that for now, the war is over. We're saved, for now.
>>724083654>>724083786>entire fleet of super advanced alien ships in orbit>need a laser pointer the size of you torso to tell them where the 160 meter tall giant AI robot is>it hardly even fucking movesThis shit was so dumb.
>>724084075... and that's how you write an uber hyped-up and incomprehensible, undefeatable enemy. You can only collect tiny wins at a great cost with the true win condition forever being incomprehensibly distant. But what of it as long as peace is achieved and apocalypse averted. You're supposed to be a hero, not fucking Jesus Christ who kills all evil, heals all diseases and gives everyone a hot GF/BF before ascending to Godhood, leaving absolutely NOTHING in the setting worth exploring or continuing.

>>724083541Yes they do lol. You're just too much of a contrarian to realize it. ME2 is as flawed as ME1 and isn't perfect, but ME2 does a lot of worldbuilding and gives huge depth to every character. Small glimpses of the genophage are mentioned in ME1, but in ME2 its a full on storyline. The Conclave is mentioned in ME1 but yet again its a mission on ME2. Cerberus is more fleshed out rather than the super duper evil org in ME1, though the way they handled that was questionable. Each and every character has their own unique storyline and mission, and not only that but they can straight up die and the entire suicide mission was tense as fuck. There are plenty of things ME2 did good on, but ultimately it has problems because the reapers weren't finished, ME2 could have been 10x better if it was just spectre Shepard & friends doing rounds on the galaxy, which is pretty much what happens anyways.
>>724084716>Yes they do lol. You're just too much of a contrarian to realize it.No. You're just too blinded by your own love of the second game to realize just how much it fucked everything from ME1. There's nothing more to it.
>>724083175We don't actually need to beat the reapers in me1-verseJust find a way to combat them efficiently This can be done by gaining tech, opening up old forbidden relays, explore prothean tech using shepard's innate ability to understand their language The possibilities are endless, and perfect for the small 3 man squad gameplay with lots of talking stuff They just had to step out of the most obvious thing to do, which is have le epic showdown with reapers as climax
The only improvement 2 had was removing thermal clips
I remember that they locked the prothean char behind some sort of GameStop exclusive dlc.
>>724064345>It always baffles me how the first thing anons on /v/ bring up about it is the copypasted dungeons, yet ME1, the only game in its series with copypasted dungeons, is revered here as the only good game in its series.Because the said copy-pasted dungeons are side content.
sure do hate they fucked the ending so hard ill never touch anything from the franchise ever again
>>724084797Then if everyone loves ME2 so much, maybe the problem lies with what ME1 does to begin with.
>>724062021>Let me complain about all the side missions I didn't need to do
>>724085342Yes, you do, because you need them for "number go up" mechanic for ME3. If ME3 wasn't such a shit that made it so that you need to go back and do them, nobody would care.
>>724085340>pigs eat slop >this means garbage slop game = good Its popularity by itself should be a red flag
>>724085340No, the problem is that they built a sci-fi fanbase out of ME1, then completely screwed that fanbase over by making the later games for a completely different kind of fan, aping games like Gears of War. Anyone who liked the first game is more than justified in shitting on the later games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZoFw9uXJwk
>>724085509Then I guess Veilguard is the best Bioware game ever.
>>724085587>sci-fiScience Fantasy.Everything we have is science fantasy. Don't kid yourself. Maybe stop blowing ME1's dick so hard for a moment to see what it really was, all along. A feel good story about going on space adventures with your bitch and some alien bros.

2 was enough to convince me to not buy 3
>>724080072You forgot the most important one:>got rid of femShep's feminine walking animation in ME1 and made her walk and run like a man
>>724085856Me too. Five minutes into DA2 and I knew ME3 was going to be shit.
Can Shepard and his crew solve the Covanant and the Flood issue?
>>724085734>Science Fantasy. The "fiction" part of sci-fi accounts for that.>Maybe stop blowing ME1's dick so hard for a moment to see what it really was, all along. A feel good story about going on space adventures with your bitch and some alien bros.See, that's the ME2 fan's POV on the game. You focus in on the social aspect of the game (what made ME2 popular among normalfags) and not the exploration of the setting itself, which is what made the original game gather its fans.
>>724084558>ENTERBiggest bop in the ME OST>>724084075>>724084390Huh, I'll have to take a closer look at Free Space then
>>724085981No, they'd probably all die.ME technology is vastly inferior to Halo technology.
>>724058790I always set one weapon up for maximum dakka and used a secondary weapon as a portable nuke, unless I was playing as an Adept, in which case my pistol kinda fluctuated between the two. One of my favorite little things that ME does is giving in-game benefits to the achievements. I hoped that more games, especially RPGs, would start doing that in the future, as it was really fucking cool.
>>724086045>>The "fiction" part of sci-fi accounts for that. There is no fiction. It's just fantasy. The moment you don't go super nova when you attempt FTL, your franchise goes into fantasy territory. As well as including aliens. starfield is more science and less fantasy than ME.>>See, that's the ME2 fan's POV on the gameIt's the only PoV on the game.
