A very slow start. Not at problem the first time you play, as you're also being introduced to new characters and story, but in later playthroughs it's a dull couple of hours before you get to make some meaningful choices.

I quit after 10h because I was told this was a jrpg, while it's obviously closer to a visual novel. The music was amazing, but the highschool scenario/weird Japanese nostalgia is not for me. Also the fighting system might be the most simple and stupid I've seen in any jrpg ever.

You have to plan and think ahead on how you can optimize the time you're given to max your stats, social links, and side quests. As you get further into the game, the game gives you resources to gain more time. Tae's SP and HP items let you complete dungeons in one night, Kawakami's messages let you go out when you're tired, Sojiro trusting you lets you go out at night, Chihaya lets you complete social links 2x as fast etc.
